    What I liked about your video, is the fact that you showed this install with the same tools most people have in the field. Not a fully stocked shop. Basic hand tools can do this upgrade. Only suggestion to folks is you may want to try to knock the strut studs out before removing the strut. If you can it will make it easier to R&R the strut. Back the nuts all the way down till they are flush, then use an old socket on the nuts to protect them and the studs.
    Nicely done.

      Thanks for the input. Definitely if I had a lift I could’ve been able to knock the studs out from the bottom but still a good note/suggestion. Thanks again fam 🤙🏼

    Have you had any other suspension issues since this installation? I have 2015 f150 5.4l can't decide on 2in or 2.5in really want 0 rake worried if I go 2in I'll still have some if I go 2.5 worried about suspension later on any advice?

      Still rubs at full lock. Especially in reverse. Other than that it seems to be fine. I’ve driven my truck from Connecticut to California and back twice with these on. Trucks drives great with them. 🤙🏼

    It's really not that bad of an install. I did it on my garage last night and it took 4 hours. This video really helped me a lot. I did not use a hammer to loosen studs. Instead I kept the bottom studs and attached and pulled on the strut towards me until I changed the orientation of the lower strut bolts. Much easier to do.

    Damn dude. I've looked up several ways to install this leveling kit and you seem to have done it the hardest way possible. But hey, you at least made a video so I can see what the options are.
    Thanks for posting. I really appreciate the on-screen info like nut sizes and torque values. I don't understand why people don't do this more.

      Definitely not the hardest way but it is the most time consuming way. The so called easy way is probably the hardest because one would have to break the 257ft-lb bolts to lower the lower control arm

    Do you need to use a vacuum tool to take apart the hub from the cv axle because I’ve heard things about breaking plastic gears inside of the hub but I’ve seen plenty of people do this install without using any sort of vacuum tool.

    • @ALohaBoostdF
      @ALohaBoostdF  3 года назад +1

      No just a form grip and even pressure pulling the hub off. Just putting the hub back can be a little tricky matching up the groves.

    When you knocked the studs out of the bottom of the strut were the bolts from the spacer resting on the ground while hitting the bolts with the hammer?

    • @ALohaBoostdF
      @ALohaBoostdF  3 года назад +1

      While I had the strut upside down the spacer was installed at that moment. I just made sure I put it on the blanket so it wouldn’t mar up the threads

    Hey did you end up doing wheel spacers? Or did your stock rims and wheels work just fine?

    • @ALohaBoostdF
      @ALohaBoostdF  Год назад

      I did end up using wheel spacers. At full lock the tires would rub without spacers. Once I put spacers I had to cut front crash bars. 🤙🏼

    I did the same leveling kit on mine and for some reason it keeps messing up my lower control by joints in my passenger side CV boot axle. It rips the boot and all the police comes out

    • @ALohaBoostdF
      @ALohaBoostdF  2 года назад

      That’s very interesting. From the research I’ve done, once you go above 3” lift kit you need the drop control arms. If you’re having those angle issues you may need the drop upper control arm 🤙🏼

  • @y0mama12
    @y0mama12 2 года назад +1

    So does the kit it’s self rotate the strut 180 degrees or do u have to do it yourself because in some videos I see people rotating it themselves

    I'm doing this install this weekend. Question did you have aftermarket upper control arms or are they stock? Because i see a few comments on Amazon that the level blocks put the stock upper control arms in a angle that hit the coil springs and needed to purchase aftermarket control arms.

    • @ALohaBoostdF
      @ALohaBoostdF  2 года назад

      If you go 3” or higher you will need aftermarket control arms

    If it's reversed 180 couldn't you just swap struts from driver side to passenger side

      HEY JOE DID YOU FIND OUT IF SWAPPING THE SHOCKS RIGHT SIDE TO LEFT SIDE ELIMINATES THE NEED TO ROTATE THE TOP HAT 180? I'M ABOUT TO DO THIS ON MY 2022 F150 AND THEY SHOW COMPRESSING THE SPRING AND ROTATING THE TOP HAS 180. THANKS!

    • @carlosnavarro921
      @carlosnavarro921 Год назад

      I've seen videos where they say you can swap the struts from left to right, but the lower mount orientation will face the opposite side, so the bolts will be at he opposite angle, in this video he didn't show the 180 degree re orientation so we didn't see if he rotated the upper mount ot the lower mout to fit the control arm.
