Can someone help me and explain what gives healers parses I e healed gnomer a couple times with no deaths and really clean runs but certain bosses there horrible and others I get good numbers ? What do I have to do to parse high as a healer plz
Healing parses are based solely on final HPS which is calculated from the amount of (non-overhealing) healing you do divided by fight duration so shorter kill times generally increase HPS and improve parses but if kills are shorter than the time it takes the boss to inflict meaningful damage the raid then it can lower parses. Unfortunately, the more geared people are, and cleaner fights get means less overall healing required thus lower HPS/parse rank. Although sometimes DPS will unintentionally take extra damage for their own parse which help you. Without seeing your logs specifically it's hard to say exactly but in general some things to improve healing parses: - Bringing fewer healers to raid or having other healer help dps more - Pre-hotting and pre-shielding before encounter starts (into a drink so you can have full mana) - Healing pets (you'd be surprised how many healers don't have pet health frames) - Not running out of mana - Knowing cadence/timing of damage for boss fights - Reviewing logs of players of similar class/spec who have high parses - Utilizing all available buffs, consumes, CDs during encounter (elixirs, oils, scrolls, food, WBs, etc) - Limiting over-healing, it's hard to know when another healer might heal someone first but having quick reaction time + awareness can improve this Hope that helps.

The higher your parse, the worse the rest of your raid likely is. But to answer your question, have DPS take a bunch of unnecessary damage and don't run out of mana so you can heal it up.

Surprised that you use spirit of redeemer run instead of dispersion. I disperse in between phases since you don’t need to heal during the phase switches.
I don't use any addons 'for healing' specifically, just a combination of mouseover healing macros and DBM for boss mechanics, raid frames i have are the default UI ones

doesn't downranking to 1 give massive penalties for healing? Not that it matters that much since priest healing is mostly done through penance, prayer of mending and shield.@@leonpanzer3971
@PRC533 rank 1 renew heals significantly less but I'm primarily using it to bounce prayer of mending quickly between targets who need healing, as holy renew rank 6 is pretty juicy but costs a lot of mana so ill use it more sparingly and precisely
Yo so you are using rank 1 renew to bounce the PoM, what about the rank 1 Heal is it primary used over rank 4 heal? Im Disc btw trying to figure out my mana problem in gnomer any tips much appreciated
I'm playing Disc and having no mana problem. PoM represents like 60% of my healing and I'm using rank 1 renews to make it bounce. This method barelly costs any mana. Healing with a resto druid is also amazing for synergy, because it makes PoM bounce with HOTs. Penance when good healing is needed and, rarerly, other heals. Abuse from your Shadowfiend and Inner focus when you wanna use a high mana cost heal.
I’m holy and have no mana problems. Use shadowfiend in the first phase since it may come back up for last phase depending on your kill times. Dispersion in between phases. Hit the buttons more if you are low on mana.
Correct me if im wrong but, does the majority of priests go disc just because of power infusion for mages/locks? + That the extra healing output from holy isnt "needed"? My guild is super casual, last night we fought mekgineer for a whopping 9:18 minutes... And i feel like i gotta stay disc to have the mana to last. (We dont always have a druid for innervate either).
If that's true I wasn't aware of it but it's understandable since people like to optimize comps for dps, you could say the modest overall dps increase you'd get from giving power infusion to a dps isn't "needed" since there aren't any hard dps checks this phase (unless mekgineer is giving you issues). So it just comes down to personal preference imo. It feels as tho spirit of redeemer rune in rotation with 2 min mana pot + 5 min fiend + 30 sec button would be able to sustain your mana plenty without innervates with 2 full healers

Renew rank 1 + Heal rank 6 and rank 1 - also Flash heal R1 to get Inspiration on tank pre-pull
