I think its fun and overall does outperform holy priest which is kind of expected since holy priests scale a lot with gear so tend to get stronger with higher ilvl. I do still prefer the gameplay/playstyle of holy priest and think they still shine on fights with consistent heavy AoE raid damage. And in my opinion Divine Hymn as a holy priest with the right modifiers is easily the strongest of all the healer CDs and only 3 min CD

Thanks alot for the response! Do you swap to disc on certrain fights or do you just sit in serenity when youre doing more of a single target heal focussed boss? Again ty for the response :) I'm playing disc atm but really want to try out Holy, I'll give it a shot ahnd see how it goes. Any tips for a beginner holy priest? Thanks in advance :)

Gear is so huge! I play holy priest in raids and you will go oom early until you get to 359+​

Since we have a disc priest in the raid I usually don't use PW:S much unless I wanna give someone a quick speed boost via body and soul talent. But if he wasn't here I would cast it on tank upon 15 second pull timer so that weakened soul debuff would fall off a couple seconds after fight engages and I could immediately apply another

most of the resto druid mana was spent while the disc is channeling a completely useless divine hymn

I use OBS

For healing specifically just WeakAuras and Details Damage meter, the raid frames are are the default just customized a little bit

True this fight is also from couple weeks ago and gear has improved a lot. I heal the exact same and don’t oom.

I played with WA and normally I have DBM but I just haven’t fixed the display issue I have with it. I don’t feel like it hinders me because I know these encounters well but it would def help for better cd timing

Dk is main tank, warrior was dps but has to tank since we had no one else

Was just playing around with it on Beta - on live I don't pick it up as holy since you'd loose some other more valuable talents. Still some niche uses tho

It's ok but you loose some valuable talents to gain it for a marginal benefit. Quite clutch when stacking with huge aoe burst cds but imo not worth it this tier

Yea it’s crazy how much players have improved over the years! It’s also that the healing play style is a bit different than I remember too

I’m not a huge fan of the atonement play style but disc is a lot more fun than wotlk for sure. Managing the chakras is fun, and it gives a lot of room to do some clutch things. The down side is being chakra locked while it’s on CD or sometimes because of a bug you cast chakra and immediately lose the buff so have to play out of a chakra for 30 seconds

Also on the chakras, it’s not a huge penalty for being any state but sometimes it can be for example on Chimaeron if you get stuck in serendipity during the Massacre you can still AoE heal but you’d probably loose 30-40% effectiveness

@@Adrytl Sounds good. I wanted to do Tailoring and Enchanting but there is pressure from my guild to keep Engineering. I hope that the Synapse Springs end up Not working with on-use trinkets so that I can drop engineering. I am not sure whether nitro boosts alone are worth Engineering considering boot enchant, Body and Soul and Inner Will.

Mana seems worse than it is cause this pull I swapped out 600 spirit for 600 mastery + switched to power torrent. Also somehow our dps was way faster this kill so I didn’t get the double fiend right as p3 was happening (no fiend talent either). And I stayed in sanctuary so I wouldn’t be caught on chakra CD when heavy raid dmg went out even when not stacked

Sanctuary chakra is way better in 25m, no reason to swap into single target heal especially with 7 healers

Why would I divine hymn earlier? And I mind bendered when the least amount of dmg was going out when I could sit and hymn at same time.

@@Adrytl rather use it 2-3times than 1-2, even if there is not insane amount og damage. Same with bender

@@Adrytl If you used mindbender earlier u would've had it alot earlier in last phase when people is taking most damage. Was a time u had no mana and wouild benifit alot by using it then.

@@Adrytl Just an observation, takes the fun out of it when it "hits live" :)

He's getting a buff/debuff making him unhealable but having instant casts ( if I remember correctly)

He reaches 100 corruption early which gives him permanent debuff that reduces all healing taken by 100% but increases damage done by 100% and makes all casts instant, so hes spamming pyroblasts the whole fight and spreading giga combustions when adds come out. He's getting PW:S on CD and spammed by disc/hpallies to keep mastery shields on him and hes a troll so regening HP despite the debuff

Why would you think Disc is boring compared to Holy?

@@kimandersen6174 In WOTLK I very much disliked the spam shield playstyle and going into cata it's a lot different but still a lot of smite spam for atonement. Disc is amazing dont get me wrong but just as a personal preference I like having a wider variety of spells to use in different circumstances. This is same reason I quit playing Hpaladin in wotlk and resto shaman in BC cause of the using 1 spell 70-80% of the time playstyle

@@Adrytl I very much agree, disc in wotlk was very very boring but the rewoke feel really nice. I haven't tried holy out much, so can't really say too much about it, can only say I felt it was a bit underwhelming when I tried it, but could very well be the fact that I'm missing experience as holy. Personally I enjoy the aspect of disc that you can help out a little with damage while still have a spell for most situations. Disc playstyle just fits me better. I enjoyed the video tho!
