The LHD is badass! It’s quirky and not just a pelagos with a left hand crown but the way they changed the lume color and date wheel it adds it’s own charm! I don’t own one but I’ve seen it in person and tried it on and it’s just cool!!!
Huge fan of the LHD. Tons of personality and quirk. The thickness doesn't bother me at all as its part of the utility of this deep sea dive watch. Way more personality than a boring Rolex Submariner.
Is the cream lume on the right hand drive black as well? Damn I almost bought one but went with Omega 300m instead. Pretty sure my next will be a Tudor for sure. Thanks for the review
Dig this watch but couldn't bring myself to pick it up. Held out for AD to call me for a Submariner 124060 No Date which took me only 2 months. In many ways I prefer this LHD, but at end of the day the Rolex is ALWAYS worth waiting for and picking up. Especially when these Tudors are fetching over $5k.
Tudor is kind of a funny concept for me (never had one). On the one hand, given my usual purchase price of $1200 or less, I've gotten some pretty amazing watches. It's hard to believe that a Rolex is really better in ways I'd notice (nice as they are). Tudors are meant to be a more affordable Rolex (or at least that was their original intention). They are now about the price Rolexes uses to be and they're generally available (like Rolexes used to be). But by definition they're not as "good" (whatever that means) than the Rolexes right? So I can't help but think that my higher end watches, Ginault, Formex, Christopher Ward, etc. are probably done as well as the Tudors are but they're 1/2 or a third of the price. I don't really understand the value proposition of Tudor or Rolex really. I know there is some precious metal even in the steels, and maybe the movement is a little better and they're a little more finely regulated (Rolexes) but is that really worth it? And the Tudors don't really have much of that. Is this Tudor really better than a Christopher Ward C60 or a Formex Reef? If so how?
Paying over MSRP for any watch is absurd. Not necessary and not a wise move….for any brand. Tudor LHD Pelagos is a great watch. Very elegant diver and a lot of style.
This is one of the M56 series movements from Kenissi Movement. Even if you designed and manufactured the movement, (before turning over the responsibilities to someone else), it cannot be claimed as in-house, but instead 'manufacture' calibre. Granted, Tudor is a shareholder in this manufacture, along with Breitling and Chanel, but to say it is 'in-house' is no more accurate than to say the ETA movements inside Swatch are, despite the fact the Swatch Group owns ETA. Kenissi is making movements for TAG, Norqain and Fortis, as well as for Breitling and Chanel. I suppose the best term, given Kenissi's proximity to Tudor's HQ, would be 'in-the-house-next-door' movement. Although - it is a building - and may best be described as perhaps behind Tudor's own building, Idk. lolz.
Kenissi was founded and is owned by Tudor. The movements are manufactured by Tudor for Tudor and other brands. It’s in-house without pushing in-house prices on customers.
@@danielpowers2413 Kind of...Kenissi Manufacture is its own company, despite ownership by Tudor. Tudor does not make the movements, Kenissi does - in its own manufacture, right next door (or behind) Tudor's building. Tudor made its own movements (two calibres) for a grand total of less than one year before creating Kenissi to make ALL of the movements for their watches. It is a similar proposition with Seiko's Seiko Instruments Inc. (SII) and Time Module (TMI). SII designs and manufactures movements and - because they purchased Hong Kong-based TMI - now have their movements manufactured by TMI as well, for third parties. In this example, the difference is that Tudor does not continue to make the movements, (like SII does) despite having first developed and manufactured them for a minute. With the exception that Time Module existed prior to their purchase by Seiko, again, it's a similar proposition to that of Tudor and Kenissi. For this reason, it is not, by definition, an in-house movement, although it does qualify as a manufacture calibre, given that Tudor did design the two movements, originally.
LHD is not worth more than retail, and not many Tudors are. People may pay a premium for the Harrods edition or some older models, but definitely not the LHD. Let's not do the FOMO thing
Tried these on and not happy with the fit. To be honest it is trying to be a Rolex and i am not interested in owning a Rolex I instead tried the Breitling 42 SuperOcean. Release valve and glare protection and of course COSC Certificate
How is it trying to be a Rolex when it did titanium before Rolex, LHD before Rolex, and the Rolex it was more closely resembled had the shortest life span of any Rolex ever of just three years?
Breitling is not nearly the quality of Tudor/Rolex. The SuperOcean is a great watch. I owned one for years. Note-the 42mm does not have the Helium RLS valve. Only the 44mm has it.
I'm with you. I just walked out of a Tudor AD and I wasn't impressed with the watches. I'm sure they are built well but they were boring. I would rather have a SLA model or used Grand Seiko for the same price as these Pelagos.
I’m a big fan of the Pelagos. All the color ways have their own character and look nice.
Fantastic time piece. They're better when seen in person.

I was leaning towards the 39 but this has much more character. 👍
My grail - as a lefty and Tudor fan this is just the complete package for me 👍
Had mine since 2018 never was a fan of Tudor until I saw this one. Fell instantly in love with it
LHD model is nice!...very legible....crown dig drives me nuts!
That one is a winner!❤️
I love my blue 1st gen Pelly. What a fantastic overall watch......great in nearly every situation.
1st gen wasn’t available in blue

I’m pretty sure they still have that watch in stock. I was in the store today and tried it on. It is in exceptional condition.
Is the cream lume on the right hand drive black as well? Damn I almost bought one but went with Omega 300m instead. Pretty sure my next will be a Tudor for sure. Thanks for the review
I have the 42 Black. Love mine, awesome manly watch.
Waiting for my FXD next week.
5:05 Can you please explain why one would want to hide the number? I’ve never understood this. Great vid; thanks.
The same reason why you don’t want to share your serial number, they are counterfeited
I would like the crown on the other side but still get the lume color and other stuff. 🤷🏼
This isn't as jarring to look at as the Sprite GMT, mainly because the date window wasn't moved.
I’ve had mine since February and it’s amazing. Super comfortable, keeps amazing time. The bracelet will scratch easily but who cares.
Same, but I’m still on the fence.
Scratches easily fixed with an ink eraser or fibreglass pen. I love my lhd had it nearly seven years now.
The pen is better for deep scratches then finished off with eraser.
Very nice watch
Is it going to be gone because you're going to buy it, Rob? lol It's an awesome watch. Tudor make some amazing watches.
J’en ai une je l’adore 😍 et je la porte à gauche c’est top et original 😊
The best pelagos. I sadly have barbie wrist....
I strongly believe that you look at the Pelagos 39. You may be very surprised and buying one before you know it.
You're Kenough for the LHD
Go to the gym and you can get bigger wrists, i increase mine fri. 17cm to 19cm in like three years time
Nice
What time is Sunday Funday?
Noon if I can make it happen. Still recovering from yesterday
EZM 3, you're welcome.😂

Value proposition is in the eye of the beholder.
Paying over retail for a pelagos absurd. Absurd. They are everywhere. Literally ADs sell these online.

Nothing personal, but that blind bezel bet was about the dumbest thing that I’ve ever heard in my life

Alternative watch , or proxy watch is never good, because you always think of the actual one that you want. Better to pay up or move on.
I don’t like a Tudor. Rather I am going to purchase a high end Seiko or Grand Seiko.

5k for a slab case with printed dial, aluminium bezel and grade 2 Titanium.Way overpriced!!
Applied, ceramic, grade 2 ya got right. In house great movement. 5k is a good deal for this watch.
