6:50 the aircraft directors normally are serious but they have "freestyle friday" where they get to do a move or a dance at the end. it is a tradition in most air forces.
The drill sergeant and or soldier on the eagle tower that you showed that was upside-down was real because that happened a little over a year ago when I was at basic training. All he was doing was demonstrating on how reliable the equipment was and that you shouldn't be afraid to fall
I’m going to talk to a recruiter next week and I’m super nervous about it. Watching your videos make it so much better to think about. Thanks for great content!
I just had a horrible day and seeing you just posted really put a smile on my face. Thank you lots Nikko, you're amazing! Already know this video will be great like all the others ❤
Fun fact with the NPA, when I went through EMT certification class we were told to put it in a 1/4 inch the lift the part outside the nose upwards. It puts the NPA at almost 90 degrees upwards and now you just gently push down. It slides in ridiculously easy, got to do it on a drunk guy not to long after I passed my certification.
Once on a WestPac Deployment, (in the Cold War) we were being “shadowed” by the ubiquitous Russian Fishing Trawler. The Signalman on the Blinker light was bored and flashed the Trawler,”Why do you go home!” The trawler flashed back, Why don’t you?”
Love the video! The jets being launched is called freestyle Fridays. Pretty much some units you can dress up others you can just dance and you can do whatever you want as long as you salute.
That first clip looks scary until you realize it’s just Nico reading an ad. I’m kidding. The first clip looks scary until you notice that it’s like a corrugated cardboard door. Probably about as a sturdy as your cheapest option for a closet door at home depot. I thought it was gonna be like the fridge or truck explosion mishap/near-miss from FPS Russia back in the day, but it’s just a cardboard door or something like that as far as I can tell.
Hey Nikko, just wanted to let ya know that the Pinecone Grenade game made sense to me. It’s similar to the “war games” I played outside as a kid. I would run around with a wood gun or some shit like that and toss a rock in the air pretending it was a grenade and run/duck. Honestly, I miss those days.

The weird dances they do in the air force is basically sign language. They all are different and have crafts in meanings. It’s basically jus like fly good, and be safe
npa's arent that bad, it helps to not use the largest size first but when i was in, if you fell asleep during iv class youd have to be the example for how to administer an npa. like iv's ive done them to myself several times. however the drills get mad when you do but they cant help but be a little impressed at the same time. even in red phase.
The dudes "dancing" for the jets are called shooters lol. They ground guide the plane then let the pilot know when they're clear to navigate on their own. They all have signature moves before "shooting" the jet out on a flight lol
The hand gestures we use on the flight-line are called "Marshalling Signals" and it's how ground crew advise flight crew what we need them to do when maneuvering on the ground. There are even more signals for hovering aircraft. The dance moves are a new thing, though.
8:09 Makes sense to me, not because I’ve ever been in the military or army (I’m only 19), but because I’m lacking enough brain cells to understand that mindless fun
4:39 yeah this is actually from when I was in basic, the guy on the rope is a First Lieutenant demonstrating what not to do and then what to do if it happens
Me personally I’m going into freshman in a few days and after high school I am going straight to marines from what I’ve heard/seen it gives you the best life lessons, experiences and discipline you’ll get
The eagle tower one, 101st used to do that as an example. I got to do it once. The whole point is to do it like an idiot and prove if you slip, you won't die. And have fun because that school can be boring as fuck for instructors most days.
I can explain the dances. I'm not a vet or in the military, I'm actually 11, but you can make whatever takeoff sign you want as long as it is approved by your superior. I think.
3:30 I was born with a very odd and mysterious skill...to take NPAs up my nose without blinking. Idk if it was because after my first one I learned there was a trick to it? But dudes (even CLS cadre) got super weirded out I can deadass stare someone in the face, not blink, and just get an NPA shoved down my nose. (the tick was to do one, constant, slow breathe out through your nose to open it up more and the NPA went in like butter)
I just watched a towed jumper recovery on youtube... That has to be so terrifying, dude had the static line wrapped around his arm strangling it helplessly flopping in the wind
1:11, I'm going to be in the 75th Rangers Regiment and later on 75th Rangers STB (RRC). I'm so excited for Military Free Fall School and Jump School so yes I would pay to jump from a plane.
I wanna be a pilot, so I would most definitely jump out as soon as we hit altitude! Also, with the vid about the pepper spray training, a lady at my old church accidentally pepper sprayed herself from her keychain.
When I was doing security training with the police department, we had to be tased and hit with OC spray. Well, I was severely allergic, so they had me come back being released from the ER and blindfolded me to run through the course (hitting target with baton, fire a taser, suspect take down, handcuffing suspect and finding the gun that was tossed aside) since I couldn't run through after being sprayed. Glad I didn't have to do that more than once. Love watching the newbies getting hit with that shit, though.
