The revolver injury was because his hand was around the cylinder. There's a slight gap between the cylinder and the barrel (forcing cone) through which some gas will leak. On all revolvers it would hurt, on magnums it could amputate fingers.

Honestly I don't care if it's canceled or not. But if your first-time owner or never shot a gun or something you need to go through class so you don't hurt yourself or somebody else. And as long as we keep our amendment to be able to bear arms. I don't care.

I open carried until I got my ccw. I prefer concealed carrying because it’s less stressful, but because I open carried for a few months I realized that most people don’t care and life is good.

I support open carry for handguns. I usually do that with the glock g40 10mm in the woods. My advice to for others who open carry would be "have a backup gun". Mine is the ruger lcp max 380.
For rifles and shotguns, it is inappropriate to open carry in urban settings.

Learning to use a scoped rifle as a child, got comfortable with a rugger 22, stepped up to a .308. Pops reminds me to not put my eye up to the scope stands back and let's me fly. I now have a permanent reminder to not put my eye up to the scope 30+ years later. He laughed all the way to get the stitches.

I'm gettinfg my CCW next month, so I don't really carry unless I go to the park with my dog or the range. I'm not completely opposed to open carry though. It's not so much "I'll be the first target" so much as non-gun people will give weird looks or avoid you, so CCW for that reason alone makes sense.

People at ranges are exactly why I haven't gone in a long time. The only one I went to consistently was the Bullet Hole in SATX. You could get a private bay for 2 hours and my buddy, his wife, my wife and I would go there to train

For someone like me who is a bit bigger build, it is easier to carry OWB over IWB. While its possible, its sometimes uncomfortable to carry IWB so I prefer to carry OWB.

First time at the shooting range, so I didn't shoot at the cables, but at the metal thing where the target is attached. It was Sig Sauer's AK variant 7.62×39. It didn't go through, but there was a nice dent in it😅

8:45 This shit is a daily if not weekly occurrence at the range I used to work at. It was $65 if you shot the rope, $100 if you shot the cable. If you killed our lane and didn't pay the fee, it was a permanent ban. It was usually people with shotguns, no clue why we didn't ban shotguns from our range.

i think us a 2A community SHOULD open carry more because it will bring more awareness to folks around youu who are on the fence about guns. Also, 1000% it would help normalize firearms to people. if literally everyone opened carried as much as the conceal i swear it would make an impact.

9:32 I almost did this the first time I ever fired a .500 SW magnum - it was at that moment that I knew I cannot handle high caliber revolvers like that. That thing was crazy. And now I know my limits.
I can do a .38 special or a .357 magnum just fine. .44 Magnum hurts my wrist a bit. 12 gauge shotgun? No problem.
But .500 SW revolver? Nah, can't do it.
I mostly stick to my .45 ACP (1911) and 9mm (Glock 17).
It's also fun to go plinking with my other 1911 chambered in .22 LR.

Open carry is a deterrent, but for the most part Open carry vs CCW is based on the firearm, the individual/what they’re comfortable with, and training. (My opinion based on observations I’ve made feel free to discuss I don’t claim to be an expert)

This range i go to with my dad in OK are actually pretty chill and let you shoot at your own pace except no full auto and no prone stuff if I remember correctly.

I conceal carry with an m&p shield in tennessee its legal to do either without a permit so i switch it up depending on the circumstances
Open carry is how I go. I get the argument that you're telrgraphing yourself as a primary target for anyone armed with bad intentions. But it goes both ways- people who might fuck with you will be more likely to give you room. Situational awareness is key though so you can react if necessary. But I open carry.
Exactly. I grew up with criminal friends people say to me “a criminal is about to rob a gas station and they see you walk in they then make you their first target then they have 2 guns.” And it’s like nah they’re looking for easy victims they just wait for me to leave then rob the gas station

I work at an indoor gun range, we only call it "rapid fire" if you aren't hitting the target. And yes people do knock the rails and cables down all the time.
I open carry when I fish and hunt, I also use a drop leg holster. But when I am out with the civies I CC.
I personally don’t like open carry for myself because I don’t know if the person standing behind me in line wants to snatch my gun or not. Wouldn’t happen everyday, but it is a possibility

When it comes to concealed carry an open carry the only difference in my state is you can open carry in my state without a license and then you have to have a license to concealed carry

I prefer CCW because if I absolutely have to use it, I don't want them to know where it is until the very last second. That way, the next second is their last.

Both have benifits and disadvantages….. it’s all about training… though if you are Oc I think you should be trained in retention and extensively trained in the application and usage while OC……the same with ccw but it is inherently different

I prefer open carry simply because most ccw pistols are too small to fit my hand comfortably. And pistols that do fit me tend to be hard to safely conceal
