- Marilyn shows you how to cut glass rings from a wine bottle using the Creator's Bottle Cutter, a heat gun and a bucket of ice water. We use the glass rings as part of our wine bottle wind chimes.
There are more details on finishing your moothing and finishing your cuts in our blog post at: www.glasshousestore.com/wine-... - Хобби
yours are the only glass cutting videos worth watching ♡
The best, clean effortless technique I have seen so far 👏👏 I have seen others heating and using ice over and over repeatedly and it doesn't crack cleanly
Don’t you just love the scoring sound! Music to me ears.
Hahaha I was just thinking that sounded so cool
Great! AFter seeing a lot of galss cutters, I am happy to see this cutter- simple and adjustable!
Great video !
I just got this device and I was glad to see you using a heat gun rather then open flame. My heat gun has infinite temps up to 1500f so that works. What I intend to do and thought you may like... there are what are known as heat or temp wax sticks. They are used in the molding processes to check mold temperature to insure proper and accurate materials molding, such as say a bowling ball. A Google search will turn them up. Thanks for your video... Well done and helpful
Very Good Tutorial - Loved your video
Thank you, great video.
This is good idea for cut circles. One time you already have many circles glass rings. Thank you for sharing!
May I ask what you can use glass rings for? My worry is that they’d easily break? Any process that can make them stronger?
I loved it !
Excellent. Now, I have a new craft to use my new heat gun with. I recently purchased one, but haven't gotten around to using it yet. :) I have an Ephrem's Bottle Cutter, but I ordered a Creator's Bottle Cutter earlier this evening.
I just did 4 bottles and worked perfectly. Thank you!
Great to hear
Thank you very much for your video. I can cut glass bottle fine by this way.
thank you for the share been trying to get cleaner lines. I think I'm getting it too hot because I'm getting cracks elsewhere. I've also seen the hot cold water method and some people use a lighter. I like the heat gun idea, might have to go get one.
For us the heat gun method just works quicker and is more consistent than candles or hot water. We do a lot of cut a lot of bottles for our projects and the classes we teach. This method gets us consistent clean breaks in the bottles. We cover a bit more (smoothing edges) in the blog post we just finished up: www.glasshousestore.com/wine-bottle-cutting-101/
Parabéns, o melhor ,e mais eficiente que já vi!
What about using a dremel to score the line? Would that work?
What do you do with those glass rings?
May I ask what you can use glass rings for? My worry is that they’d easily break? Any process that can make them stronger?
always every time I try to cut the neck of bottles but during the thermal shock the bottle splinters or cracks and I have lost many bottles due to this matter; I would like to know how many degrees F or C of heat and for how long should I apply to the bottles before putting them in ice water.
Thanks for your help and cooperation.
What do You do with these rings? Where You use them?
Can you use your glass cutter to cut different types of glass besides round?
I am new to this. I want to cut beer growlers. What glass cutter are you using that holds the glass still? and What is the best heating gun?

How can I cut rings from the small bottle neck?
Is there alternative to the knife you used to make a cut mark?
There are alternative bottle cutters out there. We like the Creators cutter, because it is very well made. We have tried a lot of the lower cost bottle cutters, but they are not as reliable and consistent. If you are doing just one wine or beer bottle, this may not be for you. If you have to do many then we highly recommend it.
Muito bom nota 10 pra você

One of our customer used them for wind chimes. We have a picture of that in our blog article in the video description.
Yes, great video, but how do you know when the bottle is hot enough? Yes I heard what you said, but it still sounds like a lot of trial and error.

Amazon has them.
Thankls for the great video! If you could give us the temp the bottle is suppsed to be heated to, it would be very helpful. I have a temperature gun to check the temp of anything I can shoot it at. It would be extremely helpoful to know, otherwise the tutorial in incomplete since we can't touch the bottle to feel how hot it is. "Pretty warm, but not enough to burn fingers" can have a relatively wide range. Thanks anyway.
