Miss Dunstan is brilliant. It's difficult not to respect her skill. I was a manager of a frame shop years ago. She makes it clear how ignorant we were trying to pass ourselves off as professionals. That shortcoming lead to my resigning. I knew we weren't up to the task. The company kept taking orders. I asked for help when we were fifty orders behind. The company said to keep taking orders. I said we need skilled help. The company insisted we keep taking orders. When we were 472 orders behind, they sent us one semi-experienced man with an attitude the size of Texas. He wanted my job . I let him have it. Last I heard, he was asking the company for more help. They were 602 orders behind. That's when my friend Rita quit and two others. I wish that the internet was as accessable then in 1997. I wouldn't have been so ignorant.
It is UNREAL how easy you make this look
Very informative without unnecessary bits. You make it look so easy.
Came here to learn how to cut glass tops for my dart frog vivariums and left wanting to make stained glass windows. Totally A+. Thanks!
Hello, I am also a glass cutter.
Thanks so much! This is my first glass cutting tutorial video.
This gave me the confidence to finally dive into it. Made a few mistake cuts but I finally have the lid to my aquarium cut from glass I found in the bins😊

BRILLIANT TUTORIAL Thank you !!!..." clear cut ' explanations !!!!!
👏👏👏
Thank You!!! I have broken a few pieces of glass trying to make cuts. You gave me the method and confidence to use #1, the "thumb" method (3:12 with nitrile gloves for support) and it worked flawlessly the first time for the two cuts I needed! Your video is the simplest and most concise out there. Thank you again.

I learned alot, thanks
Thanks so very much, i was using pliers wrong . Just that tip alone Helped me to-move foward.
Nicely done! Very informative. As a novice I have gotten cut while learning. Well worth mentioning that gloves really should be used at least in the beginning. Great channel. Looking forward to catching up on your videos.
Very good
When she did the circle... that was edge of your seat suspense. I kept waiting for the whole disc to crack like it does when I do it 😮😆
Same!
Excellent Cathie

Technical
Hi can i ask what material you have on the worksurface?
Nice explanation... Thanks sister....
Great one
Very nice demo mam, very good narration, take care while handling glass without gloves.
Still holds up after 8 years 😂. Great job.
Wonderful, now I can steal that incased jem I always needed
I can finally go Catwoman and cut a perfect circle as I steal stuff!
Hello, this is a good knowledge
Very nice.
Nice demo. Could you do a demo where you cut the circle but need to leave the square pane intact on a small piece of class maybe 350 x 300 mm with a hole about 200 mm diameter. I had to supply a timber frame and cut the hole in the new glass for an expelair.Tried the one time then ended up at the glaziers. He told me to leave it with him. I suspect so he didn't give any clues away! Thanks again.
Nice tutorial
this is easily Top 10% of how-to videos on RUclips.
Now I just have to wait for my neighbours to leave
Nice cutting
Thank you ☺️
Very nice video
I am not sure if we have to buy different diamonds cutter for thicker table glass.
i'm in love
very good, thank you
Very useful. I like learn
Thanks for briefing.
Your eyes are very pretty
A great demonstration; she made it look very easy, and gave very clear explanations.
(If you make any more videos, please ask the cameraman to concentrate on the workpiece when the lady is doing things. We don't need to cut to her face evry few seconds at the expense of missing the action!)
Nice
Wonderful My Friend like 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍. Creative
Thank you.
Woow..usefull..❤
I have an glass from an old coffee table that I'd like to repurpose. What's the best tool to use?
Overall a good video. Solid, easy to follow information and clear video. My only criticism is the hollow, low-level sound quality. Invest $50 and pick up a wireless Lavaliere mic. It makes a world of difference.
Thanks
Thanks you .....😊
Registered and like for you 👍
Please tell me robot cms machin how to ripering
Shapes and designing walay particles kis trah cut hongay?
Cool
which oil need to apply
Your video is soo helpful!!! Thank you,
But I have a question that I hope I could have an answer for, is it possible to cut a mirror if it's glued to a piece of wood ??
No but you could try removing the glass from the wood using a wire in between them using a sawing motion. If the glass is thin which it probably is or it is epoxy glue or even just well glued it will most likely break the glass. The only other option is using a diamond grinding wheel which would also be very difficult considering that you would be cutting through glass and wood.
No, if glued on it wont cut
Thanks sister
Nice vedio
how to cut spherical convex glass of 2mm thk??
how can get a hole for a fan at the glass of window?
What kind of cutting mat are you using. What do you recommend for home?
We use these, a good surface and easy to brush clean. www.creativeglassguild.co.uk/prod/cutting-mat
Curious can this scoring method work on glass bottles to cut them????
We recommend this www.creativeglassguild.co.uk/prod/creators-premium-bottle-cutter for bottle cutting
cool video
Gloves equally important !
I'm not hearing a sound when i'm pulling that cutter and the oil is making the cutter slip.
Good teachee
Does choosing that cutter depends on types glasses to be cut?
Not generally, these will cut most glass, you may need something different if cutting very thick glass (>6mm) these cutters work on pretty much every type of window glass or stained glass provided its not toughened - which you can not cut at all!
tnx
Pls can you mention the glass cutting tools again
Just a quick question about the oil used in the glass cutter, does it have to be a particular kind? I bought some "Professional Glass Cutter Oil" on Amazon and just recently watched another video where they said you could also use motor oil, or transmission oil in the cutter. I am just getting into working with glass, so any tips are appreciated. Thanks!
We recommend glass cutter oil www.creativeglassguild.co.uk/prod/glass-cutter-oil as it is the right consistency for the wick in the glass cutter, other types may clog or run right through.
What about 3and1 oil?
@@10hockeymom1 No, it is too thick
Where can I get the complete set for glass cutting from ?
If you are in the UK you can get it from www.creativeglassguild.co.uk
What type of oil are you using to dip the cutter in please?
Glass cutting oil which is odorless and the right consistency www.creativeglassguild.co.uk/prod/glass-cutter-oil
Can i cut 8mm aquarium glass with this technique?
Do you know if the glass is toughened or not? If it is just normal plate glass you can use this technique. For breaking the glass after scoring, the running pliers would be your best bet!
@@creativeglassguild just for future reference aquariums are typically just normal plate glass.
I don't know why but I can not get the cutter to cut. I am using the kobalt one. No matter how I hold it or how much pressure it will not score. It is driving me bonkers. Please help.
Hi Lyn, we would recommend a Toyo Cutter www.creativeglassguild.co.uk/prod/toyo-super-glass-cutter-tc1 they are great quality tools, getting the balance of pressure right takes some practise, also check you don't lean left or right when scoring, that will mess it up.
Can any of these tools be used to cut DVD's into shapes smoothly?
I dont think so, sorry
what about a mirror that's ~6mm thick??
Hi....may you show how 6mm Thick Glass is CUT?
Hi, can this cutter be used to cut glass bottles .? thanks
Unfortunately not, the tool we would recommend would be the Ephraim's Bottle Cutter Kit.
This is the best bottle cutter we have found www.creativeglassguild.co.uk/prod/creators-ultimate-bottle-cutter
What happen to circle curting?
Great, thanks. I believe something you forgot to mention is that, as I could observe in your video, when you cut a straight line you move the cutter towards your body and when you cut a curve you move the cutter away from your body. Is that correct?
In reality you can do either, with a curve, certainly away, if you are following a line, so that you can see it, with straight lines against a cutting edge you can go either way.
Can i also cut acrylic using this cutter?
No, acrylic is cut with a saw or heat.
You guys always make this look so easy and I still can’t master it 🙄
Keep practising and remember not to press too hard, if the score looks ground in its too much pressure, if you cant feel it with a fingernail its not enough. You will get there!
I want to buy this glass tools
OK, i have IT. You buy IT?
👍👍👍
Will this work for glass bottles as well?
no
This will do it www.creativeglassguild.co.uk/prod/creators-premium-bottle-cutter
How to cut a thicker glass or mirror tho?
Your eyes are amazing!!!
