    This technique may look a total waste of time to a lot of people because they want the bottle finished as fast as possible. Whats the point of making a bottle every 5 min?
    Some people ask "Ok, so you cut it, now what you do with it? It is not about what I do with it after i cut it but what I achieved doing it. What you are doing here is called "Meditation". It is a total state of concentration, a training for the mind and soul, thinking about nothing but only what you are doing now. It's to find peace for yourself, and we need that these days (during pandemic). It's to tell yourself, I know it will be a very long journey and I will be spending a lot of time practicing and there will be many many failure to experience. I will break many many bottles, I will get mad, I will be very angry, I will be disappointed, but no matter what happens, I WILL NEVER GIVE UP cause I know someday I will look at something so beautiful that I created and it is priceless to me. I will never sell it cause it's all about me and my abilities and every time i look at it, it will remind me of me and I am proud of me.
    People also ask "why I am not wearing any gloves"... You won't be needing gloves when you reach that level of concentration and experience. I am a professional glass cutter and I know how to touch glass. The note I have in the beginning of my video is for those who never worked with glass. It is a note to beginners to prevent accidents and injuries so please wear gloves, eye protection and a good dust mask if you are a beginner and never worked with glass.
    Now a note for Professionals:
    Wearing gloves while cutting a bottle is like asking a blind man to wear gloves when touching objects. You just disconnected him/her from his/her surrounding world. You need to feel the bottle. I should remind you again, This is NOT a technique to cut a bottle and waist some time. Don't do this if your think "OK, I did it now what I do with it?" Do it to remind yourself of your abilities every time you look at it. When I look at my collection of bottles, each bottle has a story to remind me of, "You cut me and made me do the spiral dance for you" - "you cut me but I couldn't cut you".
    Thank you for watching and subscribing. I make sure to answer everyone as fast as possible. Please watch my other videos listed below. Take care and stay safe.

      Aahhhh your reason gives so many! And it's pure & simple; basic and rAw. Life is complex, which isn't hard when you go back to basics. Nurture your roots and keep focus centered. Life is for sharing and lived where right Accompanies wrong by nature's design as shown in visual by the word rAw. Each opposite is leaning on the other. The bridge that joins & gives the strength, is where we meet in the middle. Life is about All. .... Thanks for taking the time to share not only how to cut a glass bottle into a spiral , (which is really neat;) but these words in your way. Love it all! Peace

    I wish there was a super like button. I've been making lanterns from recycled metal like, duct work from the dumpster at my old job and I've been trying to figure a way to use recycled glass with them. This is just what the doctor ordered, really precise way to cut whatever shape you want as long as you have patience. Thanks for not keeping this to yourself, you definitely are a master.

      Have you tried packing the score with a conductive substance (powdered graphite/carbon/iron/ununpentium and then just attach electrodes or even better, put it over an induction heater. Cause man, that's so awesome. But there's gotta be a faster way... Cause if I made 1.. My lady would be wanting more.. and I have no time. Lol

      lol, Make one but don't show her, make more over time and once you have enough, show her only one. Now if she ask for more, you have enough bottle to make her happy.
      tbh, I really don't think any other technique will give you such a precise cut that doesn't need much sanding. As you can see I am touching the edges (well, not recommended unless you know how to touch glass) and they hardly need any sanding. IMO, the technique you suggested won't work on a spiral or curvature cut but it seem to split fine over flat cut where the score line is just a simple circle. Thank you for watching the video

    • @CutterMasterArt
      @CutterMasterArt  3 года назад +2

      @@dpavlina13 thats why you should not use ice. A sudden shock gets out of control. If you want to follow heat and ice technique then change the ice with cool water. The end product is worth all of the effort so thanks for uploading the video, you're a very talented and innovative artist. Is it possible to wrap the bottle in a heating pad for a few hours and letting it sit instead of using the soldering gun to see if that would induce the scoring to crack on it's own, or speed up the cracking with the soldering gun?

    • @CutterMasterArt
      @CutterMasterArt  3 года назад +10

      Thank you for all your compliments, I really appreciate it. The question you are asking has been answered over 100 times here. I have been practising with different techniques over time and to be honest with you this one was the best technique I found that worked for my designs, However; there are always an issue with every technique. This method is the best because you guide the cutting by changing the direction of the solder iron. What I found was that, in order to start the initial crack, you need gradual heating and cooling (No sudden changes in temperature) like hot water and cold water. You need to start the crack gradually and everything will be in your control once the crack starts to show up. To start the initial crack you need to consider glass thickness, Soldering iron temperature, how much time you apply the heat, how to cool the spot down so the glass doesn't break suddenly and so on... There are a lot of factors involved and you only achieve that by doing experiment yourself and learn the correct timing for everything you do. Yes, glass is that sensitive. Anyway, It will take sometime before you have your first perfect bottle made and once it is made there are no guarantee that next bottle will also be perfect. It's all the about practising and having patience. Rushing the procedure is the worst thing you could do and you have to stop thinking of ways to speed the process up. It just won't work, glass has it's own mind and you have to follow it's rules. I hope I answered your question the best way I could. Best regards, Happy new year and please stay safe 🙏

      Something I always wanted to explain but felt I shouldn't because viewers won't understand it until they try themselves. this has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen, I adore glass. I have cut the bottoms off wine bottles ~ but this! WOW. I absolutely love this and wish I had the patience. I know me, I would not be able to do this. But I may have to attempt it. Maybe. Because I need ont of these in my life (smiles) Thank you for this awesome project!

    Thank you so much for this thorough tutorial! At 21:26, is that some kind of sanding bit you are using on the dremel tool? Does it pretty much function as a more precise alternative to manually using squares of sandpaper?

    • @CutterMasterArt
      @CutterMasterArt  3 года назад +13

      The tool you see is nothing but a simple bit with sandpaper wrapped around it. I take a bit I don't use, wrap the sandpaper around and use a little bit of white glue.
