    So for the past few years, I have been quite involved with RedBubble, and not just as a seller of the platform, but also as someone who has in some ways promoted them through the content I’ve posted here on my channel.
    And in no way have I ever been affiliated with RedBubble or paid by them to talk about their website. So everything I have ever said about them has always been from my own personal opinion and experience. And for the most part, I have always had good things to say about the platform, and generally recommend it for people to try and sell their own designs through RedBubble.
    But gradually over the past year or so, they’ve been making it harder and harder for me to continue supporting them, especially when it comes to me talking about them here on my channel and essentially promoting them to the people who watch my videos.
    And the reason it’s becoming harder, is that they seem to have lost track of what made their business successful in the first place. Which is of course the sellers and artists who have contributed millions of designs and pieces of artwork to the website, in order for RedBubble to profit from.
    And to me, it seems as if they no longer care for these sellers and artists who actually make their business function and thrive. As every couple of months or at least every year, they've been introducing some sort of new policy or making some sudden changes that go against sellers of the platform.

    Rather than deleting all that hard work, I just configured all my items to have a 200% mark-up. Should RB ever (re)discover their brains, I can reconfigure it all back again. If not, so what - strangely enough, I still get sales at 200% - I don't know why.

    • @vernaolympiad

      I also have a markup of 250%
      Did redbubble put your stuff on sale?
      Even though i have a mark up of 250%, you'll be expecting that the items will be expensive but no. Redbubble put my items on sale. So its not expensive when the buyers buy my stuff.

    They have fallen from 24 million to 20 million in just ten months, and this trend is continuing. 4-5 years ago you could still make decent money with them. But then the founder announced that he was retiring and leaving the business to his partner. And that was the beginning of the RB decline and it seems it will not stop until they hit bottom!

    Thank you for this eye opening video Julian. In fact I signed up with RedBubble a few days ago and uploaded a design yesterday but regrettably neither do I see my shop nor my product (I uploaded only one for trial). I think this is it then, for RedBubble and me.

If theres issues with people copying your designs amazon wont be good either then? Cause your items will be promoted when people buy other peoples clothing?

    I had started Redbubble a while ago with very few designs and found the percentage they were taking too high already (before 2023) and also realised that many of their products are very low quality. I started learning more about sustainability and realised that I don’t want to support them anymore and then, what what was the final straw for me, was when I participated in a thing that was a collab with an animated series I was not only excluded but also got a warning when I forgot to put the logo of the series on one of the designs I uploaded. I contacted them and tried to correct that (mistakes happen!) but they didn’t even answer and just stated that if I try uploading for that project again my whole account will be closed down. That made me realise they don’t care about the designers at all!

    I think I'm gonna stop uploading too. Their search engine in the website no longer works properly. I relied on it to look for unsaturated niches by searching what I'm inspired to create, but since AI has been intergrated to the search engine it has gotten tough to see which niches are saturated and which aren't.

    • @Julian_Adams
      @Julian_Adams  5 месяцев назад +2

      I have kept the stores created from my Redbubble challenge videos open for viewers to checkout, but besides that, my personal stores have been closed. For me, keeping them open isn’t even worth the headspace anymore. Sure I could have kept them open, but then that’s one more thing/platform I feel the need to post on to keep it from declining when I could be spending that time elsewhere and seeing 10-20x better results. But I do agree, in most cases people should just keep them open and receive payouts here and there.

    They don't have any respect for artists, I was with them around 5 years, built up around 400 followers and had just started getting some decent sales when they suspended me, I never copied or made any copywrited artwork, I believe the suspension was because of a purge where thousands of artists were just thrown away to save on server costs.
