POD can be a very profitable business. If you have money already saved to run ads or hire an influencer to promote your pod site. If you just try to do the SEO free traffic way good luck. You won’t be able to leave your day job anytime soon. Payouts suck with pod.
Loving this transparency dude! Some solid progress. I've been using Redbubble for just over a year now with some success and have created a video tutorial on the methods I've been using. Thanks again for the content bro, looking forward to your next vid.
I realise this video is a year old now, but I think it serves as a useful reality check for anyone considering POD. There's an abundance of influencer videos out there promoting the idea of massive earnings, thousands of $ per month and while that might be true for a tiny majority - perhaps with the necessary funds to run ad campaigns and other promotional strategies, the reality for most is the earnings amount to just a few crumbs. My own experience from 400-odd designs is 6 sales in 3 months. It could be argued that if sale are not happening the designs are not good, or just not trendy enough, or you haven't found the right niche - well maybe... but that then also highlights another issue - the difficulties determining what kind of designs will be popular and what so-called 'niche's' are actually likely to sell.
Hi Julian, I may have this video before too! As it is saved in my 'watch later' list. My request and query to you is to make a dedicated video on how you do text design using canva only for Redbubble and finally uploading design with all details... In short what's your design process for Redbubble.
You can adjust your profit margins for each product, yes, but if you go too far outside it I think it would impact sales. While the profit margin is horrible, as you said, it's basically a leave and forget passive income. I've had my Redbubble store for about 3 years, and ignored it for 2 years until recently, and was still making between $20 and $190 per month, mostly closer to $20, but I did nothing for that income, so I'll take it!
I opened a Redbubble account and after loading three designs my account was closed. I asked them why, but they said that it didn't comply with their rules. I've heard stories of people who have their stores closed after being with them for a long time. So I guess I should feel lucky that my store was closed earlier. Redbubble is not a reliable platform.
