I Love, Love, Love, Your Videos,, no fluff, no loud music, your voice is soothing,, and real value in every video,, IF a person is really paying attention there's so much to learn from your Videos,, And I do,, Thank You!!!!!!
Good to see people that are posting realistic sales, I have around 170 designs on my store and I make roughly £30/£40 a month and usually £100 in the Christmas months. I should really start posting more designs though it does tend to be the same ones that get the majority of sales.
A couple day ago, on spreadshirt, I sold a t-shirt with just a cassette tape silhouette. I was surprised that something so simple like that sold. I had that design up there for like 2 weeks only.
Your videos are incredible. Probably you know this already, but since you make so many sticker sales, I'd really recommend that you mark up those stickers. I make $2 when I sell a sticker, because I set the margin so high. Personally I don't think customers notice the difference between $3 or $4 or $5 for a sticker, but for the artist it can be the difference of hundreds of dollars. Again, you are amazing in your field so I just wanted to throw it out there in case it's helpful. I'm just floored by how many stickers you've sold, and think you might earn way more with higher sticker margins.
thanks for the encouragement. How many listings did you start to see sales. Also how long did it take to get these 1,000 sales? Sorry if I've overlooked that if it was in the video.
It's a good question, the results can vary because you could have a home run early on or slug it out for hundreds and hundreds of designs. My first 300 designs were crappy (I was learning) but once I got up to 1,000 designs in a branded store, it was on autopilot (a sale every day or every second day). I would recommend picking one or two things at most (ideally that are related) and then your whole store are just those types of designs/niches.
If you sell on 2 platform for example and website but the products are different should you make a Pinterest account for each store or one account will maximum amount of traffic
Zen Watercooler:: I just hit 100 designs in my shop, I plan on fine tuning my shop now with what I've been learning, Question:: Should a person's shop be all about one niche?? And all one product,, Like for instance One shop for Tshirts, One Shop for Stickers, & so on???
For Redbubble, one big plus is that customers can easily find their design on a myriad of products. So I would not recommend having a shop selling only one type of product. It's way too much work. You are better off putting your design on as many products as possible. For niches, you can do a general store or a niche store - a niche store typically will help 'brand' your store (so that might result in more likes, favorites, sales, etc.)
Q2. Can i use: dogs, cats, dog, cat, coffee and else common words, dictionary words in tags, title, description? And how it do right? I searching info so much and keep going!
Yes when I make design for Redbubble, I typically save it as a PNG and then again as a JPEG. So I upload the PNG for the main design, and then for the sticker (and usually the water bottle) I upload the JPEG. Same upload page, but just a couple of the products get the JPEG instead of the PNG.
Hey there...!! I'm roughly in the same situation...making 200$/month........made my 1000 designs last week. ( Also Canadian) Question: As you say you don't touch that store anymore.......... - Is it a good strategy for me to let my store "run by itself"...........and open another one ? - Will they BOTH be "autonomous" once the second one reach 1000 designs...? ...or should I keep putting work ...in the First one only ? ( Time is a precious thing of mine...and I want to spend it wisely.......) Many thanks in advance !! 👍
Interesting. You gave me some good ideas. Have you done any video’s, or do you have any thoughts on the need to create separate stores on RB? I only have the one and yet I see here you mention “1000 designs in ONE of my stores”. What does this achieve - other than making it difficult to maintain many stores :) ?
It's a great question - because there is a non-zero chance of getting banned by the robots, I would rather have 10 completely separate stores (with completely separate email addresses/PayPal information) than have one store with 10,000 designs. Because if one gets banned, it's annoying but not devastating.
thanks for the video, i learn a lot just by watching your videos. I havent start an account and still learning. But, I do have a question. If i made 1000 designs for example and about 700 of the design doesnt sell at all, should I delete and replace that design? or just let it stay on? and should i expand the more successful designs?
Hey there - that is totally normal (in my experience) - out of every 1,000, maybe 5-10 will be consistent sellers. There is no downside to leaving all your designs up - you have already done all the work, so even if it gets a sale a year or two from now, it’s just passive income.
thank you so much for making this video. i love how you show us real statistic, so we know what to expect from our redbubble store. really appreciate it.
What is your margin for stickers? Mine is 30% commission. I don’t want it to be too high because of competition and this seems to be my sweet spot. I thought about increasing it 1-2% next year as an experiment but I’m not sure.
Yes that is a great question - I personally have 25-50% commission and I have had people saying 100% is totally fine (and I believe them) - I guess if people want the sticker, they are willing to pay a few pennies more!
That is a really good question - I personally don't go after trends (but totally respect people who do). Here is a video that describes the evergreen strategy: ruclips.net/video/0LzdSb4N08I/видео.html
How long has this shop been open? I've got over 1000 designs my shop has been open a bit over 2years. I've only got 436 sales. The more designs the better the sles even though at a guess only 10% of the designs sell.
This particular shop has been open for 2-3 years and had about 500 designs for a long time. I just uploaded about 10 designs a week to it over a year to get it to 1,000 and then stopped. I may add to it at some point but it is just more of an automatic $50 bill in my pocket every month.
@@zenwatercooler I'm getting that $50-100 but want more. Watched your $1000 a month video and need that amount. Not sure if I want the more hands on etsy model. Can't get accepted into merch by amazon. Love to get that in Redbubble.
Thanks for your video! I want be in safe! What if the trademark is generalized and is part of a phrase that is not a TM and there are no TMs similar to it, is it possible to use this phrase? At the same time the phrase fits well into another phrase. For example: "real men"(TM all country, classes, just for example) and "real men love cats"(no TM and no similarity), can i use "real men love cats" or it be similar?
Hey there - the 71 designs is probably not enough. I would say you would want to aim for 1,000 designs in your store. Even 1 upload a day can add up over time. Whichever the design is that sold... make more of those!
I am looking for a vintage font that’s hard to find and I don’t know the name of it. I know you have a video on this subject but I can’t find it. What is the website that can search for it? thanks
I can create about 200 designs in a weekend if I watch football for 16 hours and work on the computer. So they are all the same size and they are variants of each other. So there are probably 200 different designs and then 5 variants of each. I use Creative Fabrica and Vexels alot (and now Kittl) to make really good looking stuff quickly.
You can certainly create more art quickly - here is a video with the strategy (it is for digital designs but the strategy would work for print on demand too): ruclips.net/video/hNuhG39DdYA/видео.html
I personally think that if a true customer (or potential customer) is liking your designs, that would mean that someone out there cares about it and could possibly buy it. But I don't think that the RB algorithm is only looking at likes (because people set up other stores and just like all of their own designs and it doesn't seem to boost the search ranking). So yes in real life but no from the tricking the robot perspective.
So many trademark violation but why doesn't Redbubble do anything about them and how do you compete against the successful ppl that are breaking the rules?
My only thought is that either Redbubble is completely overwhelmed by the number of violations (so they give that duty to a bot) or they don't really care unless the trademark holder (like Marvel of DC Comics) files a complaint.
I guess it all comes down to perspective - there are lots of hobbies that don't pay anything (in fact people who game for example pay to play). So this is fun and it pays me extra money. It's definitely not for everyone and I wouldn't recommend it replacing a full-time income from a job.

how much % margin for your sticker?
