Informative tutorial for nuts and bolts but I prefer when you create the art because that is so very inspiring for people to draw their own art and there aren’t enough artists like you doing graphic art tutorials. More art tutorials please?
Great tutorial. I purchased the Affinity suite a few months ago during the version 2 launch, but not very comfortable with it yet. I tend to gravitate to Canva when designing. Didn’t realize there was a T-shirt template - I was able to crank out a new design in a few minutes.
This is so helpful, thank you so much for your quality content. It is next to impossible to find helpful content about RedBubble and your channel is literally a gem. Thank you.
Thank you very much for this Juna! Been a subscriber since your early days (below 5k subs). One of the most respectable and realest teachers when it comes to POD! Thank you very much.
Juna, Thanks so much for this, I've been trying to decide whether to try Red Bubble or Tee Public. I'm a new Etsy seller with 250 POD designs listed. Would you do a video for us Etsy sellers who want to expand our market on sites like Red Bubble but want to learn how to upload our already-created tshirt designs onto these sites?
Glad it was helpful! It's easy to upload just drag in your designs and use the same titles as you uses on Etsy. You may have to adjust you design on different products but it should be pretty easy.
for awhile last year some POD designers on youtube were saying that teepublic was rejecting every new designer due to an overwhelming number of people signing up to earn extra $ during covid layoffs and downsizing. i was rejected twice by teepublic and gave up. it would be interesting to know if this situation has changed and if you get accepted by teepublic on the first try.
Thank you brother for this great great piece of information. I want to know if this method works in 2024. Again, thanks a bunch brother for your kindness.
One problem with the method you're showing though is many of those tags don't niche down, they niche back up. You'll get down to 20,000, press one of those tags to go further and it'll will pop back up to 50,000. It works sometimes but not always.
@@DetourShirts sure bro. I have been browsing the web for a while but not able to get hold a specific area that will allow me generate passive income in future. I recently came across your channel that cut my attention to into print on demand. Just taday you drop this amazing video.
Appreciate your videos. I tried to set up my first shop recently. I posted 6 things and my account was suspended without any reason. It was not anything copyrighted or offensive. I wish they would at least provide a reason. Very frustrating and disheartening. I appealed, but no response.
Sorry to hear that. Yes POD sites in general don't really give a lot of feedback on why something it reject or why a suspension happened.... I wish they were better at that
Hey man, same thing happened to me! I'm learning it happens to a lot of people with both Redbubble and Teepublic. But at least you and me were only a handful of uploads in. I've heard that there are some that are hundreds or even thousands of designs in, and then they wake up one day to a suspended or deleted account, and they appeal, email, chat, and email again and so forth... and nothing, not even a reason to explain where there might have been an error. Not only would these poor people be losing the income... but all the TIME they invested. I suggest you try Threadless and Zazzle (these were in Juna's top 10 platforms that he's on). They're not as big as Red or Tee, but at least they are not this faceless machine. Threadless in particular, seem to care more about the artists on their platform, as they were founded by a community of artists; they even have a RUclips channel where they actually interact with their community, and when they email you there's a human name behind it. And Zazzle has a lot of potential, as you can have multiple stores and provide customization options (another POD tuber calls it "Etsy Light" lol) . They are free to join, so worth a try. As for your appeal, I'm not sure how long ago you submitted it, but you still might be able to get a response, as I've heard that some have gotten a response several weeks or even months later. I didn't bother appealing with RB because I had heard so many horror stories like yours but 1000 times worse before I even signed up, and I said to myself: I don't want to be hundreds or thousands of uploaded efforts in and have something like this happen to me - I don't care how much money could be made on these platforms, because... you can always make more money... but you can't make more TIME. All the best man. Peace out
Its happened to me too ,but after I understand why , u need wait around 1 week to upload ur designs and post only 2 after 1 week and after 3 then u can post as much you want
The same thing happened with me after 2 days after uploading, so I decided to start a new account, and nothing bad happened. I suggest you start a new account and try to avoid uploading the designs that you suspect that was against Redbubble rules.

Thanks for the video. I'm having trouble with tags. Say I have a design that looks awesome on an A-line dress, smartphone case and a few other products. How do you keyword to get people looking for different products to find that one design?

Hi Juna, cant we select multiple colors tshirts at a time like teepublic where we can select available colors other than display color for the buyers to choose from?
Juna, a great video as always, this time I learned a lot but also designed a long but created my red panda free hand fast as i could keeping pace. However ran into a systematic error, I tried your suggestion of company name as a tag and hit the auto fan review "Dexter lifestyle" vs the show Dexter : (

Hi Juna, watched this a couple of times now, very inspirational. Gave me a lot of ideas I hadn't thought of before. I'm fairly new to RB and was wondering what you recommend when uploading a design. Do you choose 'optimize' or select a product like sticker or shirt for default view. I'd like to know which is best in your experience. Thanks again!

Yeah..... there is no really good way on RedBubble to know if a niche is selling..... the trend lines that RedBubble provides is about views and uploads not sales..... so the best thing to do is to track your own sales
GREETINGS. A QUESTION THE PLATFORM ASKS ME WHEN I UPLOAD A WORK IN 300 MP, CAN YOU TELL ME HOW I ACHIEVE IT IF I HAVE A DESIGN IN 6 MB FOR EXAMPLE. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP FROM VENEZUELA
So if you are creating a design in inches like 15 inches by 18 inches you will need to make sure the design is saved at 300 dpi. Most graphic design apps will let you set that. It's much easier to just create your design in pixels and make it 4500x5400 pixels.
Thank you for sharing, but I have a question to ask you. What is the T-Shirt called to have your artwork cover the entire product instead of just the front or back?
Hi juna, i am always very happy with your videos i like them and making all you say i just have a trouble with post cards its not working with 4500× 5400, i searched and found it works with 1300× 900 px to appear good but when i do that it affects other art design in same collection and receive a message from red bubble saying its too small so let me know the solution please?
You are right postcard are 1300x900 but think of it as the aspect ratio.....13:9... if you times it by 2 or 4 you could still use the same design to fill the space.... 2x = 2600x1800 or 4x = 5200x3600.... you could even bump it up to 5x = 6500x4500. Hope that helps
Greetings Juna. Thanks very much for you help giving in your videos. I watched a video from another RUclipsr which said that redbbuble's print quality on t-shirts is bad. I also checked fighter jets and tanks and soldiers and thousands came up but... I'm unsure about those. They weren't shooting but... I made a design using tiny, pinky sized tanks and other military equipment in profile as part but don't know if it's considered mature or not.
hi, Juna. As always another great video with quality content and thank you for the video. But do we have to check for the trademark when using tags? or not? is it okay to not check the trademark on tags?
Hello. While designing for RB Tees, I leave a 50 pixel margin on each side with a (2400 x 3200) pixel artboard. Is this much enough? Or should I leave more? I am asking from the 'bleed' POV. Will edges go missing?
@@DetourShirts Yes. Actually I design at 4800 x6400 and upload at 50% size. Thank you so much for taking the time out to respond to every comment. Appreciate it immensely.
@@DetourShirts Have a nitch you are really good at. Create a social media following around that nitch. Keep posting to SM. Its a long and slow road but on line marketplaces know where a buyer came from. When they see that, they pay more attention to your store. There are only so many listings on a search page, you want to be one of them.
Hii very good tutorial but I want one question how to delete upload design for back T-shirt ? Because I don’t want upload design in back T-shirt. I want look design in T-shirt only front 😮😢 Please help me Thanks.😢😅
Hi, thanks for the vid. Sorry, I have uploaded a design on my redbubble shop but it's not showing up, not even on my shop. I shared the products link to another device, opened it, still nothing. It even shows 0 design. What could have happened, pls ?
@@DetourShirts I've had the RB account for a while but recently started selling. Do I need to have a certain amount of designs first before my work get shown to the public?
The results at 4:50 show how RB still has tag problems - or is there another way to explain how donuts and skull designs are shown in the first row for "kawaii red panda"? Irrelevant and useless results for anyone searching
How long do your products take to show up in your shop? I have uploaded 5 already, I spent two weeks making them. It's been two hours since my final 5th upload, but they have all not shown up on my account yet. The support is just a bot and I have a feeling if I submit a ticket it will also just be another bot. Just want to know what is the usual time I should expect for things to actually show up? The forums said 15min, the first time I asked the chat bot it said 2hrs and then today when I asked after waiting the two hours, it now told me 5 business days. I am so confused and worried I made a terrible mistake by trying to sell on this website that is clearly just run by bots.
How long does it take to get approved by redbubble? And how do they notify you of your acceptance? I only have one tshirt that i want to sell, do you need a minimum in order to set up your shop>
@@DetourShirts thank you! Tomorrow will be a week, do they notify you by email? And also once you are approved, do they take a lot of time to approve every item you design? thanks Paula
Trick question.... so if I were to save it as a 15 in x 18 in then I would use 300 dpi... but 4500 x 5400 file doesn't have a dpi so I don't worry about it if I'm designing in pixels at that size.
Hello thank you for your video. i am makng a tshirt with my custom logo. How do you decide where to place it on the front if you want a small one in either the upper right or upper left of the shirt? The back side is easier because I want it to be a large logo. I read that the small logo in the front shouldnt be more than 3" wide but the redbubble app doesn't let you know how large it will be. I guess you have to eyeball it? thx. Paula
@@DetourShirts THX! and I am in the process of making a tshirt right now, but it seems it allows you to only pick one color. Can you pick several colors that your tshirt can be printed on?
@@DetourShirts Could you please assist me in acquiring a Merch by Amazon account? I am willing to make a purchase, and I was wondering if you could help me with the process.
@DetourShirts yes. It's saying I still haven't been classified for a tier but everytime I upload designs it says congratulations your products are published. I go to my store front it says nothing to show.
I created an account and connected papyal. Then i uploaded around 10 designs in that day. But this is around 3 days that my shop has not started! I can't see my shop! Why they didn't they activate my shop?? What should i do?
Well, hundreds is better if it's something someone is actually looking for and buying.... a lot of times those niche results in the hundreds are just random topics no one is looking for.... so just be careful
That's how some say it.... I googled it for you Is niche pronounced neesh or nitch? There is a debate about how you are supposed to pronounce niche. There are two common pronunciation variants, both of which are currently considered correct: \NEESH\ (rhymes with sheesh) and \NICH\ (rhymes with pitch). \NICH\ is the more common one and the older of the two pronunciations.
Yes you do.... RedBubble shouldn't suggest bad tags but you never know
Hello. While designing for RB Tees, I leave a 50 pixel margin on each side with a (2400 x 3200) pixel artboard. Is this much enough? Or should I leave more? I am asking from the 'bleed' POV. Will edges go missing?
As per my calculation: 2400x3200 for a print area of 12x16 inches = 200 ppi. So 50 px = a quarter of an inch of margin.
Your pixel size seems small... I rather go bigger and then shrink down... but it's all about testing. Order a sample and see.
@@DetourShirts Yes. Actually I design at 4800 x6400 and upload at 50% size. Thank you so much for taking the time out to respond to every comment. Appreciate it immensely.
How about a video on lead generation for the online marketplaces and another separate video on lead generation for your own website.
Lead generation.... that is a cool idea... I'm writing that down
@@DetourShirts The on line marketplaces will give you nice bump in organic ranking if you bring in sales to your store from outside of the platform.
True.... any tips?
@@DetourShirts Have a nitch you are really good at. Create a social media following around that nitch. Keep posting to SM. Its a long and slow road but on line marketplaces know where a buyer came from. When they see that, they pay more attention to your store. There are only so many listings on a search page, you want to be one of them.
That's a good one... thanks
is it possible to do two different designs on the front and back of a T-shirt on Red bubble?
Sorry it's Front or Back. There is no option for both. TeePublic will let you do both though.
Hii very good tutorial but I want one question how to delete upload design for back T-shirt ? Because I don’t want upload design in back T-shirt. I want look design in T-shirt only front 😮😢 Please help me Thanks.😢😅
By default it is only the front, so I think you are good
Hi, thanks for the vid. Sorry, I have uploaded a design on my redbubble shop but it's not showing up, not even on my shop. I shared the products link to another device, opened it, still nothing. It even shows 0 design. What could have happened, pls ?
Sometimes it can take a while if you just started... How long have you been on RedBubble?
@@DetourShirts I've had the RB account for a while but recently started selling. Do I need to have a certain amount of designs first before my work get shown to the public?
The results at 4:50 show how RB still has tag problems - or is there another way to explain how donuts and skull designs are shown in the first row for "kawaii red panda"? Irrelevant and useless results for anyone searching
No.... you are right... they really do have tag problems
The sellers are using unrelated tags to get more views.
@@ImogenShade Yep, because RB don't do anything about tag misuse.
It should show up pretty quickly.... but it shouldn't take more than a couple hours
Hi I'm fan of this channel for 1 year ago what's the award . I'm joking thanks for this videos keep going ❤️
Thank you so much 😀 More videos coming
How long does it take to get approved by redbubble? And how do they notify you of your acceptance? I only have one tshirt that i want to sell, do you need a minimum in order to set up your shop>
It can take a week
@@DetourShirts thank you! Tomorrow will be a week, do they notify you by email? And also once you are approved, do they take a lot of time to approve every item you design? thanks Paula
What DPI do you use for your design?
Trick question.... so if I were to save it as a 15 in x 18 in then I would use 300 dpi... but 4500 x 5400 file doesn't have a dpi so I don't worry about it if I'm designing in pixels at that size.
@@DetourShirts Ah okay
Do you just keep 20% markup? As a beginner should we keep that
I like to mark it up to 30% for shirts and like 80%+ for stickers
@@DetourShirts did you always do that or just since you have been established and making money
I guess you have to eyeball it? thx. Paula
I kind of eyeball it... but it would be nice if RB had a pocket setting
@@DetourShirts THX! and I am in the process of making a tshirt right now, but it seems it allows you to only pick one color. Can you pick several colors that your tshirt can be printed on?
I have been doing exactly the same things for almost 1.5 years, still struggling to get sales. Do you have any suggestions?
Design like and artist, create something the audience wants
Hello Juna, can you make a video about How much money you made in Redbubble a month?
Not much....some where between $100-$300
@@DetourShirts thank you so much
When writing tags, will writing capital or small, combined or separate writing have any effect on SEO?
Choose the principal ones like the words in the title of your shirt , then , you can mix with the long keywords and the short ones ,
I don't think it does.
@@As_always_im_right thank you
@@DetourShirts thank you
how much meny do you make on print on demand in one week or one month ?
Depends on the month but about $10k but most of that comes from Amazon tbh.... RedBubble only brings in about $300
@@DetourShirts Could you please assist me in acquiring a Merch by Amazon account? I am willing to make a purchase, and I was wondering if you could help me with the process.
I couldn't verify my phone number, it always shows error, what should i do Please?
Hmmmm.... not sure.... email them?
Can u do a updated version? Redububble changed a bit now
Sure... I'll add it to the list
@@DetourShirts Thanks!!
Do you need a minimum amount of artwork in order to sell to the public? I only have two up but when I googled it said 5 art pieces.
I don't remember but I would start with 10
@@DetourShirts wow that many! thx!
can you make a video how to set price
Yeah... I could do that
Everytime i go to my account its saying i have no products and no designs inless i go to my portfolio...do ypu no what i dit wrong?
Hmmmm.... did you just start
@DetourShirts yes. It's saying I still haven't been classified for a tier but everytime I upload designs it says congratulations your products are published. I go to my store front it says nothing to show.
Sharing to Pinterest i find out you cannot write your own description and use hashtags. What do you say?
Maybe not the way I showed but you can if you share it manually on the Pinterest site
Hi are you only allowed 15 tags on redbubble please?i thought it was 50
They say to only put 15... it's a suggestion but they allow you to put 50
@@DetourShirts cheers for your reply
Aren’t we suppose to enter single words as tags instead of long tail keywords?
That's what they say... but If RedBubble is suggesting the tags I like to put it in... It should work either way
Can we upload same designs on different platforms?
Yes
Well its inevitable to use Canvapro in order to remove background.
I created an account and connected papyal. Then i uploaded around 10 designs in that day. But this is around 3 days that my shop has not started! I can't see my shop! Why they didn't they activate my shop?? What should i do?
I can take about a week... give it some time
I also started this week , its almost 4 days it takes me to go public.

Did this design got any sales, it's been 3 months now.
Sadly it did not get any sales......sometimes that happens
Thank you
So your designs dont have to be at least 10000 px ?
No.... most product are okay with 5000x5000 but there are some bigger products that require 7500 and sometimes 9800.
Still stuck on phone verification when registering
Oh no... hope you get it
Mine got suspunded without reason, i juz upload one design as new user
That's so crazy... sorry that happened.... I hope it gets fixed
so the niche result should be in few thousands .. [not in hundreds ...?]
Well, hundreds is better if it's something someone is actually looking for and buying.... a lot of times those niche results in the hundreds are just random topics no one is looking for.... so just be careful
is there a way to know if someone wants to buy it ???
Couldn't listen to it. There is no T in niche. Sheesh.
That's how some say it.... I googled it for you
Is niche pronounced neesh or nitch?
There is a debate about how you are supposed to pronounce niche. There are two common pronunciation variants, both of which are currently considered correct: \NEESH\ (rhymes with sheesh) and \NICH\ (rhymes with pitch). \NICH\ is the more common one and the older of the two pronunciations.
