As far as trends, Peter Frampton once said that when he tried to make music that he thought people wanted, he failed. But, when he just made music he liked, success followed.
Great point! We can't expect to know what others like. But we can expect that if we like it, there will be a niche of people like us who like it too. ;) Great advice. Thanks.
That was definitely encouraging, Marguerite. I absolutely love your philosophy about not comparing yourself with others or how much they’re making and to do designs that you’re interested in. Thank you so much!

Thank you for this. I've always been a very creative man, love drawing, writing, play Guitar and such. But I've never known how to incorporate what I love into a Career. Could draw before I could walk, still got the drawing. I've recently invested in an iPad exclusively for drawing, getting to grips working with different colours and such, but not really knowing how to try and do something like drawing into something creative I can do for my Career and for my happiness. Just to add a small info to the first tip, even some artists overestimate their first designs by adding too much details, thinking that because the piece is complete, it will make money like many others but there are actually some few composition mistakes, which sometimes is also the same mistake that complete beginners with no design experience make.
@@pearlsunval4787 by composition I mean the way a person structures the drawing with shapes, colors, spacing (if there's any) and rule of thirds. Sometimes, crowded drawings look good because the overall composition doesn't feel like is too much for the eye (e.g how the colour flows in the entire drawing)

Hi Marguerite ! It's an very High qualité content .Very serious, too.I'm going to start my redbubble store POD.Let me tell you this.Your videos are inspiring. Thank you Marguerite.God bless you.
The most problem on redbubble is how easy anyone can create an account and just copycat or steal other artist work. And the best way to make money is by doing what you like for yourself without looking too much other artists. It is a long journey but people wantz money now, most people won"t last long because they want passive income, and this business require to work all the time in the end. Me, I do it since few year only because I dont want a boss. If you follow only the trends and copycats artists, you should really ask yourself if you do this for the good reason.
Every one talks about doing research and picking underserved niches but i didn't start this to be a huge seller. I did this because i wanted t-shirts with the designs i create. If they are kinda cooycats i dont put them in my shop. They are for me personally. I am incredibly picky about fabrics so i have to receeate them because i couldnt find anyone who had it with my preferred tshirt brand. Otherwise i would jist buy them and support another seller.
Would you recommend uploading your designs to all the products available on Redbubble, or only to a few? Maybe T-shirts, hoddies and backpacks, or notebooks and stickers? etc...
Great video...👍 I have one question I am subscribed member of Canva pro so the images or cartoon that Canva provides we can use without worrying copy write right...????
Normally I don't provide comments unless someone hits the mark with something genuine and honest that I can relate to. I have been on a Redbubble creator journey for maybe 18 months now and the goal was never to be rich at this. I do very well with my other vocation. This was just an opportunity to let me creative juices flow and if someone buy something well that is better than a like, because after all most people only spend money on things they really like. I have made maybe 300 dollars so far. I started with a goal; sell one item; then another goal it 50 dollars; then another goal hit 100 dollars; my next goal it to make it to 500 dollars. However I do not want to head off in the direction of creating things that are in demand. I prefer to think of things I might like or ideas that pop into my head and share them with the redbubble community. If it sells wow. If it doesn't no big deal. If it sells more than 2 or 3 times amazing. You are right ... if you chase what everyone else is doing you will not stand out from the crowd. By the way where is that accent from?
Hi Trevor, WOW- well done on your Redbubble journey. It is incredible to see how well you have done. I think 300 dollars for 18 months is amazing based on how small the commissions are.
