    I've made nearly $2700 New Zealand dollars with this. But not fast. Lol And I did spend $80NZ a year on software to do my own thing with the images. Well worth it since that's all I spent though.

      Gurutruecrimeguru ok you've sorta mastered a successful way of making money. I have a proposal if there's a way I can do what u do with out having to start out paying for programs apps sites ext. If u walk me through a method and get me set up where I can do it I'll give u half of all profits that are made. Because it's worth every dime to learn from u scince it's tried and proven. And your obviously gonna try harder to teach me it ur profiting more the better u explain it lol

    I’m glad you teach this, so many people think it’s ok to take things off the internet for their own use. This is a way of using things legally and leaving the small illustrators and artists work alone 👏

    Thank you for clarifying the difference between public domain and copyrighted images.
    As a photographer and graphic designer, I have to admit that I was seeing red at the title here until I watched the first half of the video.
    So thanks again for helping people understand what they can legally use and what will have creatives like myself revving up our legal rights to protect our creativity and the income we earn from our hard work that we spend many hours on to perfect.
    I’m going to get back to my search for the specific information that I’ve been look for and slide over to the end of the video from the 12:09 mark where I stopped.

    These videos are so inspiring.. been watching for almost 2 years. Then I decided to build an own POD shop for software developers, took myself 2 weeks time to create about 100 different designs (and I am a spare time vector graphics designer) - set up everything, pull out facebook + instagram ads for a couple hundred $$: result: a 30K impressions, ~1,5K visits, ~10 add-to-cart events, 0 sells. Site ok, designs ok, ads ok, prices ok, incentives and FOMO triggers active - ZERO SALES! GOOD LUCK

      Hi Niko, I am very curious, can I visit your site?

    • @macrumpton
      @macrumpton 2 года назад +10

      There is no luck, just statistics. If you acknowledge it is hard to succeed, then it is obvious that one try has a low chance of success, but if you keep on trying your chances get better. Perhaps you need to do some research as to why your success in getting visitors did not translate to sales. It seems like you made a good impression initially, but something soured your customers before they bought. It could be shipping fees or item price, or even added tax. I would suggest trying the same store again, but lower your prices or have free shipping. Even if you just break even to start, you can learn which items are popular and start a dialog with the customers, by offering a coupon in exchange for a survey.

    Hey Sarah, could you make a video about "receiving licenses" for copyrighted products. How much it costs, do we need a lawyer, etc. I'm not sure if you have any experience with that sort of thing, but it could be an interesting idea for the video.

      It's pretty much impossible to just get a license like that. Brands like Disney negotiate only with other large companies & it's all done through direct negotiation & licensing deals. There is one exception though. RedBubble does have a free fan art program that you can apply for that will let you draw famous characters & sell your fanart: www.redbubble.com/partner-program

    Hi, great video. Do the cco public domain image rules apply to selling the images as digital files after re mastering them or is it just for POD.

    Hi. Loved this video. Very informative. Can you please make or direct me to a video you've made about How to use old famous cartoon images, classic and not so popular. Without a copyright infringement or having to buy an expensive license to use the characters. Also, which site won't give you a problem when their algorithm See's the images or characters. I'd like to offer products and possibly build a website to sell them...and control the market. Maybe use POD sites. Maybe. 😊 Thanks. Blessings-Don

    Hey Ted, fellow kiwi here binge watching your content. I am really excited to give this all a go. My big question is do you need to register as a sole trader in NZ to run these sort of enterprises? To keep things above board.

      Hi Harrison. No, you don't need to register as a sole trader. Most countries do not require sole traders register - that's the point of being a sole trader, your business is you, it isn't another entity that requires registering :) you'll still have to pay taxes at the end of the year though on any profit, but you pay them as personal income taxes.

      Wow did not expect the reply. That’s awesome news, I did some hunting and thought I would need to register and get an accountant etc and it all spiralled a bit. You’re a legend. Thanks heaps!

      Glad I could help. Keep in mind I am not an lawyer and I can't provide you with official legal advice, such as laws around registering businesses, this is just based off of my own understanding.
      Also keep in mind, laws around things like this drastically change based on what country you live and most advice online is for people living in America or European countries. Only read our government's websites, don't read anything else. www.business.govt.nz/getting-started/choosing-the-right-business-structure/becoming-a-sole-trader/

      That’s what I found too. Do you remember advising IRD of your income which I assume was over 60,000 in reference to GST? Maybe your fine accountants did that or it’s not necessary. Fair enough I’ll take your word for it, don’t stress, all faults shall be my own. Thanks again!

    Thanks for the amazing information. What size(original) do you choose to download to POD platforms. How can I resize the pictures to use to print t shirts on POD platforms. Example...standard size for Merch is 4500 x 5400. Thanks for our assistance.

    • @WholesaleTed
      @WholesaleTed  3 года назад +4

      You first of all need to ensure you are choosing a picture big enough for that if you want to fill the entire printing space. Then, you can resize a picture using a photo editing app, such as Canva or free ones available online. Most POD platforms will let you resize within their Web app for free, the only one that won't as far as I am aware, is Merch By Amazon.

    Great video. Im still unsure though.. because to sell these on etsy might be reselling? And thats not allowed there. And if you modify the image its can be the estate (if its a active estate) wont like the modification 😫 i would like to sell but im nervous lol
