Etsy is the worst thing you can think of! Thousands of artists complain about her incompetence! This is a disgusting service for working with T-shirts! Etsy deletes accounts for no reason and doesn't even report the reasons! Support will never respond to you. This is not the most democratic, totalitarian service of all!
I must sincerely disagree... You can say the same about literally every website & service that exists in the world. "Etsy shuts down stores for no reason!" "Stripe shuts down payments for no reason!" "RUclips shuts down channels for no reason!" You sign up to a big third party website with a lot of legal responsibilities, that is doing billions of dollars in sales - then you be realistic and expect that to manage their website, they will have to be using algorithms & using automated bots out of necessity that will sometimes shut down legitimate stores under the guise of falsely thinking they are fraudulent & breaking the rules, and that there is always a chance you will be part of the 1% that gets shut down incorrectly. It is impossible for humans to keep up, when billions of dollars in sales are happening, bots are required. RUclips is no different. I put my videos up here, I get to take advantage of the millions of people searching for video topics that I make videos on. But you know what? That means I also accept that I am using a website that is so large (that I get to take advantage of) that it has to be run by bots & algorithms that will sometimes falsely flag videos - and I accept mine may (and has) been falsely flagged too. But Etsy, like RUclips, usually gets it right. Most videos don't get flagged/demonetized, and most Etsy stores don't get flagged as fraudulent/rule breaking. But you always, understandably, hear from people of whom it does happen to. I understand, if you dislike that 1% of stores get shut down - and I especially understand if yours got shut down - but it's not fair to register for a marketplace that does billions of dollars in sales & expect it to not be run by imperfect bots & algorithms. But in that case, don't call Etsy a totalitarian service for simply running their own product/service the way that they said they would, and frankly have to. Instead, make your own website, do your own marketing. This is the only reply I will make on this because I know I'll never change anyones mind if they have decided that they hate Etsy or big websites, but to summarize: you can't have your cake & eat it too. If you want to take advantage of Etsy's advantages (size) then don't complain when it comes with necessary disadvantages 🙏

Great step by step tutorial Sarah. I would also recommend that beginners run sales to encourage customer's to buy. Plus, they can also connect there social media pages at the back end so as to promote their products directly on social media.

Hey Sarah this is awesome! I've procrastinated on this idea for years! While watching this I got a shop up and running with 2 listings in a matter of hours! Thanks for making it easy and cutting through the clutter! I did have one question that I can't find the answer to anywhere, and perhaps you know it... If I change the colors that are available for my shirt design on printify, how do I get it to update to Etsy? I've tried the following: 1. Edit listing on printify, then publishing and waiting for a change 2. Disconnecting and Reconnecting my Etsy store. (This just gives a duplicate item and is using up my free listings haha) Thanks so much for your help and your videos!
@@jasb6804 No, but I was able to figure it out. Basically, I just needed to check off the boxes on Printify to make sure it updated to Etsy. When you create a listing and publish it to your Etsy store it automatically syncs everything about the item. But when you go back and edit the item in Printify and hit publish, you have to make sure to check off the boxes that say to update designs, photos, descriptions, etc... Hope that helps :)

Great step by step tutorial Sarah. I would also recommend that beginners run sales to encourage customer's to buy.
Plus, they can also connect there social media pages at the back end so as to promote their products directly on social media.
I'd like to see a tutorial about marketing in facebook for my Etsy shop as the Etsy ads are not that helpful :P

Just a side note for anyone, if you are a crafter and have an electronic die cutting machine (plotter), most of the softwares probably come with the ability to save with a clear background and to save as a PNG.

Here I am, two years later, following this tutorial to the letter as its all still applicable. *Thats* great content. I would however, like an updated version of this same tutorial but with the inclusion of the new features on these platforms, as well as perhaps the inclusion of AI tools, seeing as that’s obviously where the world is headed.

I did have one question that I can't find the answer to anywhere, and perhaps you know it...
If I change the colors that are available for my shirt design on printify, how do I get it to update to Etsy?
I've tried the following:
1. Edit listing on printify, then publishing and waiting for a change
2. Disconnecting and Reconnecting my Etsy store. (This just gives a duplicate item and is using up my free listings haha)

@@jasb6804 No, but I was able to figure it out. Basically, I just needed to check off the boxes on Printify to make sure it updated to Etsy.
When you create a listing and publish it to your Etsy store it automatically syncs everything about the item. But when you go back and edit the item in Printify and hit publish, you have to make sure to check off the boxes that say to update designs, photos, descriptions, etc...

So if you’re coming up with a phrase to put on your T-shirt, how do you know if that phrase is already copyrighted or not? Because even though you think it may be original maybe it’s not. Just wondering how you check that? PS thank you so much for the wealth of information this is helped me a lot!
