No one speaks about this but what happens if a customer’s house burns down due to a faulty candle. Who’s to blame? The seller or the company, such as Printify?
Honestly that is a good question. Here in New Zealand I don't think anyone would, get sued, but we have different laws to the USA. However it's so unlikely to occur I don't think I would let that stop me from selling candles, tbh.
Thanks a bunch Sarah. Always loved your vibe and am a fan of it. I've got a question for you do Printed Mint charge for shipping like printify or printful?
i love your videos its so helpful to a lot of people who focuses on the internet for jobs or ai learning tips i even some of your videos to media wallet so i could revisit it again
i’ve been wanting to do print on demand for a while and have always had my mind set on using printify. but this video has really sold me on printed mint.
Printed Mint is just an option! It isn't the best, it is just different. Mix and match companies based on which one fits your needs the best 😁 most of us don't just use one, we use multiple.
haha same. im in Vietnam, and im baffled about Printify's uncompetitive price. Can anyone suggest a supplier in Vietnam for me? I want to test the order as soon as possible and then decide to push the order.
Hi Sarah, I've come across several articles suggesting that POD (Print on Demand) is no longer viable for newbies in 2024. Is there truth to this? I'm sure I'm not the only beginner wondering about this.
It is a good question. Whenever anybody says something like that, it's my pet peeve haha because that honestly doesn't even make any sense and anyone saying that shouldn't be listened to IMHO because I just don't think they understand what POD is. Print On Demand is just another form of production and fulfillment. That is like saying that wholesale production is no longer a viable way to earn money. That makes no sense! It is all about what products you choose to produce that determines how beginner friendly the products you create and sell are. Print on demand is no different. If you choose to use it to manufacture the same t-shirt designs that 50 other people are selling then absolutely that will be difficult to sell. But if you choose to fill a gap in the market, then that's a different story. That's how I was able to make my new print on demand store a success in six months: ruclips.net/video/M9ZOiqxuMsg/видео.html Anyone saying this sort of thing, anyone correlating a production and fulfillment method with the products themselves doesn't know what they are talking about. As harsh as that sounds, I don't mean to be harsh, but it is a crazy thing to say because it literally makes no sense, haha 🙏 these are the same people that ridiculously say "print on demand is saturated" when it literally cannot be saturated. Only products can be saturated in a localized market. Not production and fulfillment methods 🙏
@@WholesaleTed Okay, I'll begin now and avoid reading or watching content from people who say POD is dead. I'll stay positive and focused on my goals. Thanks 😊
TED, thank you. Does mint charge the payment from us or from the recipient? Do I need to have money on my card? What about printfy? I can't start because I don't have money. Is mint valid all over the world?
They work just like Printify & Printful in-that you need to pay upfront before they will make & ship products. If you want to start your own POD store without doing that, feasibly the only option would be to use a commission-based platform (like RedBubble) or Fourth Wall which I discuss in this video, you might find it helpful: ruclips.net/video/1nwxxRkVbgQ/видео.html
@@WholesaleTed so just out of interest if I run a store and by chance I get 5k worth of orders I need to have 5k on my card or the orders will fail? I thought the whole point of print on demand is that the money is taken out of the customers purchase and the difference minus cost was sent to you? otherwise whats the actual benefit here? would you mind explaining please?
That is not the point of Print On Demand at all, and it isn't what the true advantage of Print On Demand is - there are many major advantages, but that is not one of them- although it makes sense as to why people new to the industry think that, so I completely understand. If you get 5k worth of orders (in terms of it's product cost - so in reality, that would be $7-10k worth of orders, but 5k in terms of products bought from the provider) then yes, you need to pay for that $5k, upfront, before production can begin. It is impossible for providers to take the money out of what the customer paid. Why? Because the customer never paid them anything. If you were running your payments through Printed Mint, then sure - the customer pays Printed Mint $30, then they could remove the cost of production, and then pay you the difference as profit. But that isn't what is happening here. The payment processor isn't being run by Printed Mint. It is being run by Etsy, or Shopify. It is Etsy and Shopify that have the payment processors, and it is them processing payments. They don't have a contract with Printed Mint. They have a contract with YOU, the owner. So they can only pay YOU the money the customer paid you. So, it generally takes 1 week or less for me to get the money the customer paid because payment processes like Etsy & Shopify need to process payments, but I still need to cover that $5k cost upfront. For me, I use a credit card. This gets me enormous amounts of travel miles for free. I use a credit card, I pay for the orders on that, then I pay them off once the money lands 1 week later. I never pay interest on my credit card: ruclips.net/video/M9ZOiqxuMsg/видео.html So therefore, I consider it an advantage, not a disadvantage, that I handle upfront payments. If I didn't, I wouldn't get free credit card rewards. But there are many, many other advantages to Print On Demand. Namely, you don't have to actually print any of the items yourself. Do you want to have to store mugs at your house, then print the design onto them, and then package them up, and then go to the post office and ship them out? Probably not, lol 😉 not only is that expensive to set up, it is time consuming and expensive to run your own print shop. By using Print On Demand companies, you can just pay them to utilize their printing facilities, and let them handle all of that for you. That is the advantage of Print On Demand. Being able to sell your own items that you design yourself, without having to actually make or ship them yourself 🌞🙏
@@WholesaleTed thank you for explaining 😀I am just wondering whether my credit card will allow hundreds of transactions? I am guessing you can credit your account at printed mint with one lump payment to cover off multiple purchases so it doesn’t seem like fraud with the credit card provider ?
Quick Question: When a customer orders the item, will the fee come out of your debit account or the card info they input? I'm a bit confused about the autopay ON vs the autopay OFF
what are the risks with candles tho? who they gonna sue if/when house burns down? you, printify, or printedmint or even etsy? trying to see what kind of insurance or llc protection or whatever else I may need before I get in the candle business.
Explain to me what e-commerce is and what are the best stores to register with. Should I create an online store on the WordPress platform, or should I register on sites like Amazon FBA, eBay, or Etsy?
Oh yes. I would not recommend using Printed Mint for t-shirts. Not only are they priced highly, their selection is much smaller than other POD apps. The big apps: Printify, Printful, are amazing for selling popular products (such as t-shirts). I think Printed Mint is great for their specialty products.
Hey Sarah, do you have to have money upfront with Printed Mint like you have to with Printful? Does Printed Mint charge the customer, or do you like Printful does?
Yes you do, Printed Mint is just a standard POD supplier. All POD suppliers require you pay upfront, unless you're hosting your website directly on their website and you are running your store payments through their own internal payment processor.
Hi Sarah! Brand new subscriber here. I stumbled upon your videos yesterday and am ready to sign up for all your advice!! :) 😄 I have a question... I'm in Australia, so how do sales go if my customers order printed goods from the American site? Are the shipping fees reasonable? ...or should I only target an American audience?
Welcome! 🌞 I would honestly only recommend Printed Mint if your audience/customer base is primarily in the USA. And if I started again, I would do what I did, and pick the USA over Australia as my target market any day. The USA has 300+ million customers. Australia has 26 million customers. It's a no brainer for me personally. By working with USA print shops, my items get printed locally within the USA, so it makes no difference to me that I live in New Zealand.
@@WholesaleTed exactly what I was calculating in my head! Thank you for answering so quickly! Another question then...how do I make the US my target market? Is it a matter of setting up an American ETSY store instead of Australian?
Yes they do, they come in multiple scents. I ordered different scents and personally thought they all smelled very nice, but that is just a personal preference :)
Not in the slightest. I'll have a video addressing that question coming out soonish (probably 1-2 months, sorry, my videos have a long production timeline)
Do you have a video on driving traffic to your website? More specifically one like Shopify vs Etsy and do you suggest setting up a blog? Everyone says to use Wordpress for blogging, but I’m not a fan. I’d like to have a blog w my site thinking of using Squarespace, Shopify, Big Cartel or Wix even if it’s used for announcements and updates. Not sure who to choose!
I don't have many traffic videos because the way RUclips's algorithm works, it is not a topic that would get many views and it would hurt my channel to make it, unfortunately. I do have a video on Etsy traffic however: ruclips.net/video/v3jE2qNt3I8/видео.html I also go more in-depth in my course too if you do ever join, since there I don't have a YT algorithm impacting the videos I can make, lol! In terms of Shopify vs. Etsy that is a topic I also discuss in my course. But basically, Etsy is great if you want a marketplace with pre-existing traffic to piggyback off of. Very beginner friendly. Shopify is great if you're willing to drive traffic to your own website. Better returns & profit margins. Neither is better. They are just different. A good mix is often to combine Etsy with your own ecommerce. I do not recommend Wiz or Squarespace as they have clunky, badly made ecommerce features. Shopify out of those is the only one I would recommend.
I have some ideas for very unique tshirts and coffee mugs, my friends love. Better than many online, but I will bet you, the sales will not exceed 10 % of the numbers you mention. I am not a computer guy and will meet with a friend tomorrow who is and get the ball rolling. After we start I will show you my product and sales.
how can you sell print products when you are in NZ and most of those print on demand companies are based in US, i'm in Australia and the postage is alot.
Personally I don't like printed mint. I used them for a phone case and the quality was extremely poor and pixelated which has never happened with Printify or Printful using the exact same design. The customer service was also very rude when pointing out shipping delays on their end or issues with printing on their end (this was back in 2021 so they may have changed). I stopped using them since and have never looked back.
Hi Wholesale Ted, thank you for clear information always, just one querry, how you got around the fact that Printed Mint only allows connection to shopify if the business address is in the USA? Im in NZ and of course had my 'business' address as home and in NZD , what do you recommend here? Ah or actually is it because I am on Pause and Build currently and my payment gateways arn't open?
Wait so if someone buys something, printed mint charges your credit card before they start making the item? So what happens if you sell an item that blows up and people are ordering it to the capacity that it exceeds your credit card limit? lol
This was a great video and I will definitely look into them. Does anyone know about any other POD companies that offer items not as popular, such as luggage and dishware (that work with Etsy)?
Well, if You chose ugly stuff, You'll definitely have a winner...😜 I've noticed the same! F ex, when it comes to certain famous designs that are sold at hilarious costs, I would never buy it since there is nothing esthetic about it...🤷 in the first place, I would never think of them as being that expensive...😲 🤷
I thought the same thing. I would never have believed so many people would actually choose to drink out of what looks like a rinsed out pickles jar lol!
@@doyouknowthings Ha! I'm a massive repurposer so could prob drink out of a rinsed pickle jar (plus love vinegar). I meant the muddled chaotic design, but hope it wasn't Ted's design. (I don't think so, hers seem cleaner.) If that's for self care, that design would send many people into a ADHD / psychotic spin.
Good question! Asia has never been a major market for me, so I honestly don't know, sorry. I do know that Printful have fulfillment centers set up in Asia so that is something to look into. It also depends where in Asia your customers are primarily based. Asia is a big, spread out place with many countries not connected through a land border.
I recommend giving the video a quick re-watch - never recommended them for clothing or t-shirts, I recommended them for their unique items, and specifically show and talk about looking at the items not available on Printify, again I recommend rewatching 🙏
How long it took for you to receive your product ? I wonder how the shipping works if they are in US and we leave in NZ or Australia. :( would appreciate if you can share thank you x
That is one of the reasons why I first started using POD suppliers, haha! My suppliers are based in the USA, it is irrelevant where I live. Where I live doesn't matter. My POD suppliers are in the USA, they produce my products therefore in the USA, and they therefore ship my products domestically within the USA to my USA customers. If I did that locally, I would have to ship from NZ to the USA which would mean my business would not be viable. When you use POD suppliers, your location doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is where your POD supplier is based.
I'll be frank with you: anytime I make a video discussing traffic & marketing, the video views bomb, lol. So I stopped making those videos. However, I do discuss it in my free ebook. And I also have traffic/marketing videos discussing my methods (organic search/recommendation traffic & paid Etsy ads) in my course. Plus I do have my Etsy organic traffic video here: ruclips.net/video/v3jE2qNt3I8/видео.html But, as the views for that video show - it bombed, lol, it has had very few views so I probably won't be making any videos like that in the future. But that video is still just as relevant today, as it was when I made it!
That is odd, they let me integrate it into my NZ based Shopify store I setup for this video! But in saying that, if your target audience is Canada, I wouldn't want to use Printed Mint anyway. I'd recommend trying to find a local Canadian based POD supplier to drastically reduce shipping expenses/headaches.
@@WholesaleTed - this is the challenge and why I haven't published my Shopify store yet. There are hardly any suppliers in Canada so I have to pick elsewhere but the shipping costs are insane. Velveteen blanket from Printify - $68 in shipping! I'm starting to think I'll never be able to get going with shipping costs holding me back.
Sarah, do you use more than one POD supplier to fulfill on a single store? do multiple suppliers cause problems outside of the minor separate deliveries to customers whose cart include products from different suppliers? Super curious on opinions. have not tried before.
so how does it work? like you design something and put it in the store, then they charge you for the product when someone buys it? I though the customer paid for it?

Thanks! Another Awesome video!
I’ve been denied Etsy, denied Amazon Merch, all for no reason. If this one doesn’t work then I give up.
Why you getting denied
Why are they denying? 😢
Hi Sara do you have a tutorial on how to make the design for the mugs or could provide the template sizing that you used in Canva.
I don't have a specific video about mugs, but that is a great idea for a future video!
Printed mint is my secret weapon!
quality info as always. thank you ❤
Thanks a bunch Sarah. Always loved your vibe and am a fan of it. I've got a question for you do Printed Mint charge for shipping like printify or printful?
Of course they do
@@ifeifesi Oh, thank you.
I love the content that you produce! Thanks!
You are the best influencer❤
i love your videos its so helpful to a lot of people who focuses on the internet for jobs or ai learning tips i even some of your videos to media wallet so i could revisit it again
i’ve been wanting to do print on demand for a while and have always had my mind set on using printify. but this video has really sold me on printed mint.
Printed Mint is just an option! It isn't the best, it is just different. Mix and match companies based on which one fits your needs the best 😁 most of us don't just use one, we use multiple.
I think the reason nobody is talking about it is because they appear to be US based and that’s it.
haha same. im in Vietnam, and im baffled about Printify's uncompetitive price.
That's how I was able to make my new print on demand store a success in six months: ruclips.net/video/M9ZOiqxuMsg/видео.html
Anyone saying this sort of thing, anyone correlating a production and fulfillment method with the products themselves doesn't know what they are talking about.
Thanks 😊
Aaah!! The only person I know who sponsors themselves! 😁😁😅🌟🍀
@@WholesaleTed Thank you, this was my question as well. It's still not quite a poor mans game.
I never pay interest on my credit card: ruclips.net/video/M9ZOiqxuMsg/видео.html
So therefore, I consider it an advantage, not a disadvantage, that I handle upfront payments.
Hi
I wonder do I must connect to Etsy or Shopify, and is it worth it to sell from Europe?
Thanks in advance
Thanks for the clear explanations.
Will this work in Canada?
what tool do u use for doing research and checking keyword and analytics of competitors?
Love Printed Mint. Just wish their t-shirt prices weren't so high.
Oh yes. I would not recommend using Printed Mint for t-shirts. Not only are they priced highly, their selection is much smaller than other POD apps. The big apps: Printify, Printful, are amazing for selling popular products (such as t-shirts). I think Printed Mint is great for their specialty products.
@@WholesaleTed Yes! And I've had years of success with them and great customer service!
@@WholesaleTed thanks Sarah
Sarah thank u for another informative video
Is it a matter of setting up an American ETSY store instead of Australian?
thanks for your Content :)
Do they only operate in the U.S?
They only have production facilities in the USA, but they shipped for me worldwide.
Do they make the candles in various scents?
Yes they do, they come in multiple scents. I ordered different scents and personally thought they all smelled very nice, but that is just a personal preference :)
I heard that the insurance is required to sell candles.
is it too late to start on POD?
Not in the slightest. I'll have a video addressing that question coming out soonish (probably 1-2 months, sorry, my videos have a long production timeline)
Do you have a video on driving traffic to your website? More specifically one like Shopify vs Etsy and do you suggest setting up a blog? Everyone says to use Wordpress for blogging, but I’m not a fan. I’d like to have a blog w my site thinking of using Squarespace, Shopify, Big Cartel or Wix even if it’s used for announcements and updates. Not sure who to choose!
I'm interested to know this as well as my shopify store has no sales yet
I don't have many traffic videos because the way RUclips's algorithm works, it is not a topic that would get many views and it would hurt my channel to make it, unfortunately. I do have a video on Etsy traffic however: ruclips.net/video/v3jE2qNt3I8/видео.html
I also go more in-depth in my course too if you do ever join, since there I don't have a YT algorithm impacting the videos I can make, lol!
What’s the shipping price????
I have some ideas for very unique tshirts and coffee mugs, my friends love. Better than many online, but I will bet you, the sales will not exceed 10 % of the numbers you mention. I am not a computer guy and will meet with a friend tomorrow who is and get the ball rolling.
After we start I will show you my product and sales.
❤🎉❤ Thank you for sharing this great resource! ❤🎉❤
Does the paynow option on printed mint means that I'm paying for this product or the customer?
Does Mint ship only within USA?
They shipped for me globally but you'll need to check with them on their current shipping policies!
Can I use this in the UK? Any alternatives for cheaper shipping?
I would also love to know!
I hoped it had a shop in it like Spring, I hoped it was not like Printful... :(
Plz make another vedio on fourthwall, and how to use 2 to 3 themes?
how can you sell print products when you are in NZ and most of those print on demand companies are based in US, i'm in Australia and the postage is alot.
I stopped using them since and have never looked back.
you have to pay for the order????
Thanks for sharing the information. It’s very helpful. I’m from Bangladesh. 🇧🇩
Oh damn!! You gave away the best POD secret around 😢
Wait so if someone buys something, printed mint charges your credit card before they start making the item? So what happens if you sell an item that blows up and people are ordering it to the capacity that it exceeds your credit card limit? lol
The customer is paying you when ordering, so you are getting money on the one hand as well
This was a great video and I will definitely look into them. Does anyone know about any other POD companies that offer items not as popular, such as luggage and dishware (that work with Etsy)?
Wow that ugly glass mug made all those sales. I'm clearly never going to pick winners.
Thanks you for your lovely share ideas
Hi Sarah, may I know which POD would you suggest for Asian countries? Thanks!!
Good question! Asia has never been a major market for me, so I honestly don't know, sorry. I do know that Printful have fulfillment centers set up in Asia so that is something to look into. It also depends where in Asia your customers are primarily based. Asia is a big, spread out place with many countries not connected through a land border.
@@WholesaleTed Thank you for your reply! I’ll look into that. Many thanks.
Curious, do you live in USA and use Printed Mint? Or do you live in NZ or Australia?
New Zealand. It makes no difference to me that I live here though, because my customers are primarily USA based.
@@WholesaleTed thanks for sharing ❤️
i really like you video thanks for your sharing good videos like this
Do you have to pay manually first before they fulfill the order, or will they take payment from what the customer pays?
The supplier charges you first, then when the order gets fulfilled, you'll get your money after the fact.
@@tribzman3977 Thank you
So you can only sell thru Etsy or Shopify? Still looks like a game changer.
No one talked about teespring, is it good ?
If I already have listings in my store using Printify, is there a way to switch them over to Printed Mint but keeping it within my original listings?
Etsy has suspended my account. Any other platforms?
This Printed Mint company you're recommending is more expensive for a basic t-shirt than Printify. Is there an upside to them?
I recommend giving the video a quick re-watch - never recommended them for clothing or t-shirts, I recommended them for their unique items, and specifically show and talk about looking at the items not available on Printify, again I recommend rewatching 🙏
What are you printing?? I’m confused your buying products that have an already printing them.
Can you sell them via Etsy, or do you need your own website?
You can integrate them with just Etsy, or just Shopify, or both - it is up to you!
The only thing that matters is where your POD supplier is based.
i have issues getting sales to my site and its a print on demand site.Any tips on how to get sales either paid or organic ads?
I'll be frank with you: anytime I make a video discussing traffic & marketing, the video views bomb, lol. So I stopped making those videos. However, I do discuss it in my free ebook. And I also have traffic/marketing videos discussing my methods (organic search/recommendation traffic & paid Etsy ads) in my course. Plus I do have my Etsy organic traffic video here: ruclips.net/video/v3jE2qNt3I8/видео.html
But, as the views for that video show - it bombed, lol, it has had very few views so I probably won't be making any videos like that in the future. But that video is still just as relevant today, as it was when I made it!
@@WholesaleTed ok ill have a look at it because i am struggling to get any sales and its almost a year since i opened my online store
I got all excited but alas - doesn't work in Canada for Shopify. They do have some amazing items though!
I currently don't, but I have! It doesn't really cause any problems, other than increased shipping costs in my experience.
@@WholesaleTed Got it. Thanks as always Sarah!!!!
I would like you to explain e-commerce to me in detail, from A to Z
Ever heard of Google, or are you that lazy?
so how does it work? like you design something and put it in the store, then they charge you for the product when someone buys it? I though the customer paid for it?
