Thinking Thoughts

Our thoughts are our companions. They trickle up from some unknown space and keep us company regardless of where we find ourselves, advising us and directing us. Our thoughts are our best friends and we trust them implicitly. But is this wise?
Many times we find congruity in our thoughts as they flow into spaces that help us accomplish tasks and aid in creation. We are in the “zone,” and we feel good and safe. There is continuity and thoughts feel seamless, they are where they belong.
And then there are those nights when we wake up with the same thoughts circling over and over inside of our head. Troubling thoughts. Thoughts of worry and grief. We can’t find a way to turn them off. We can’t find a way to go to sleep.
Sometimes we confuse our thoughts with what we call our “intuition.” This can be dangerous because the two are separate and do not exist in the same sphere. Intuition speaks from a deeper place within us and thoughts lie on the surface. To make this distinction is paramount to being in tune with our world.
Our human world is connected in thought. Have you ever entered a group of people and immediately felt their joy or sadness or anger?
There is the silence of thought, a place where we don’t think at all but still feel connected to the world. Thoughts fall away as we stand on top of the figurative mountain, a witness to all that floats like clouds into and out of our sphere.
Thought is a tool we use to put things together. Creation comes from beyond thought, and when we learn the difference, our lives can become rich and full. Silence your thoughts for just a couple of minutes a day. You will see what you’ve been missing.
