Awesome question, @danielvargas3292 - the bleed screw should always be closed tight for normal operation. If the bleed screw is loose/open, it will cause the valve to open, and the controller will not be able to turn it off. -Andy
Hi, I have 3 zones sprinkler and when side zone starts it doesn’t stop or change to another zone. Timer is working fine but when side zone is on then it doesn’t stop even if I turn timer off. I have irritrol 2713 1” valve. Should I just change solenoid or whole new valve?. Thanks.
So the bleed screw and solenoid valve both release water though the pipes? Mine is hooked up to my drip lines. Just curious if the bleed screw should be shut all the way, but feels like there’s alot of pressure that way.. Or should be screw be slightly open normally?
Why won't my sprinkler turn on after being turned off for a few weeks due to rain? It has electricity, water, and manual operation with the bleed screw works, but it won't activate on auto or manual settings. How can I fix and prevent this issue?"
Is this still an issue, my apologies for the delayed response. It’s possible that the rain sensor is defunct, and the controller is stuck in rain off. Typically there is a bypass switch, but all controllers have this.
Hi BA. The large black screw/handle is the flow control. This is used to manually turn the valve off, and adjust the flow of water and speed of the diaphragm. The small black screw is called the Bleed Screw. This is used to manually operate the valve. Keep in mind that water we leak (bleed out) from the screw while the valve is operating manually in this way. Alternatively, the solenoid can be turned 1/4 turn to open the valve manually.
I get very little water flow out of my right side but left one is perfect! Any tips ?
Do you have 2 valves? Check that the valve is opening up all of the way.
Can you please explain more what the manuel bleed valve does my friend? Should it be closed, or slightly open?

I am getting water hammer from my garden zone using the valve. any suggestions? the other 3 zones are fine.
Can you describe the symptoms in more detail?

Always closed, unless you are manually opening the valve by hand.

What is the other black screw?

You forgot the pressure regulator
Hey what’s up, Kill. This model Valve isn’t standard with a pressure regulator; that would be something you could add-on.
So, you’re a self professed “Sprinkler Nerd” and you can’t even describe the valve components?
What I’d miss?
