I was trying to do the same change but adding a valve pvc was caped but I turned off the main water source and water was floating up when I cut the pvc at the bottom like u but the water flow messed up my connection and leaks
my house has 2 water cut-offs at the house. One for the house itself, and the other is underground next to the front sprinkler valves. The set up allows for you to cutoff the water to your house when on vacation but still has water on going to the sprinklers so that your lawn is being watered while you are on vacation.
How did u get the male adapter to go in all the way to the valve? I used teflon tape and i still get about 1/4 gap of thread and it's leaking from there. I'm using HUNTER valves
What type of music or song would have made for a more pleasant experience in your opinion? Did you get any helpful information out of this video or were you solely focused on the discomfort and distress caused by the selection of background music?

What I did when I installed my sprinkler valves I put unions on the lines. Off set of course. Works 😮
It hurt how you cut the pipe and add some short extensions no room for the next repair

You can use the existing male adapters.
Look for some help with my sprinkler system, water splashes out when zone shuts off or continues to flow out during watering
I have the same problem when the zone shuts off but it only does this for a few seconds

Some times I have to shut the water off from the meter, if the water doesn’t stop running to make sure I do a good connection

I get my irrigation material from an irrigation store. The male adapters are a little shorter and much easy to connect vs the Home Depot ones
