    Even though my ribbing measures 18th’, my total stitches around the hat is 50, which is too many to decrease. I’ll have to adapt the pattern slightly. Perhaps my yarn is a different thickness? I’m using a chunky yarn. I’ll let you know if it works

    • @zaymada3228
      @zaymada3228 Год назад +1

      Did it work? I am having the same issue

    • @moniguevara606
      @moniguevara606 Год назад

      I think it’s a misunderstanding, do not do 50 single crochet around the hat even if that’s what will fit, only do 36. So once you finish closing the ribbing, space your markers to four even sections, then only place 9 single crochet in each one of the four sections, that will leave you with exactly 36. So even if you can fit more, only do 9 evenly spaced to get to the next marker. If you find you did 9 and you’re only half way to next marker or not there yet, redo them and single crochet two together if needed. so they are evenly spaced and you only have 9 in each section. Hope this helps.

    Sorta newbie here.. I already have the yarn , weight 5 (grandsons picked out).. can that work for this hat? I would want it to be thick and warm, and I tend to be a tight-crocheter. Bigger hook if I crochet tight? Help appreciated.

    • @crochetdreamz
      @crochetdreamz  2 года назад +1

    I’m a little confused on sizing. When you start the crown and stitch 36 around. How do you adapt that if you have a ribbing longer than 18 like you show in the video. I’ve purchased the pattern and it doesn’t show 18 inch ribbing anywhere. Which size of hat are you demoing. I’ve made two hats now and they are super cute. It’s a great tutorial....I’m just newbie so struggling with making the correct size.

    I have a question, can you use a lighter weight like a five? Also, would you still use the same size crochet hook. When you do the sc/chain 2 does the next sc go into the next sc I hope to hear from you. I’ve tried asking you a question before but did not receive a response. Thank you

    • @crochetdreamz
      @crochetdreamz  3 года назад +2

      Your hat might turn smaller if you use a thinner yarn. So you might either have to add more repeats or increase the hook size. The second sc after the ch 2 goes into the same stitch.

      Hi Jamie, you can try crocheting with 2 strands held together. That way you might be able to meet the gauge. I haven't tested it with Wortsed weight yarn, so I won't be able to provide you accurate stitch counts. I am sorry.

    Thank you for sharing this. I'm picky about beanies and this one is perfect. I will be making several in different colors for the cold season. 😊

    Can this pattern be used with weight 4 yarn vs the chunky yarn?

    Hello! I’m new to crocheting and would like to try this hat. I bought a bulking yarn, weight #5. Can I use this? Do I use the same size hooks that you recommend? Thanks

    • @crochetdreamz
      @crochetdreamz  Год назад

      You can try with the same hook and if it seems smaller, switch to a bigger hook. You can also work more sc in the very first round but have to keep it an even number.
