How To Crochet 1 Hour Hat With Puff Stitch
Along the way, I changed it up a bit.
You are my favorite online crocheter. Thank you for your wonderful videos ❤ from the USA
I love this pattern...I changed the first dec row [on my7th row] , instead of skipping 1 V-Stitch Puff stitches *[I put 1 puff stitch (yo 5 times puff)] , then 1 V-Stitch Puff stitch in space between V-Stitch Puff stitches [I put 1 puff stitch (yo 5 times puff) ] in next V-Stitch Puff stitch, work V-Stitch Puff stitch in next 3 V-Stitch Puff stitches* repeat 2 more times. work 1 Puff stitch in first V-Stitch Puff stitch, sc to join. On next row ch 2, work V-Stitch Puff stitch in all V-stitch Puff Stitches, and work yo 3 times puff in decrease puff in each single yo5 times puff v-stitch puff stitch row. Next 4 row crochet V-Stitch Puff Stitches . I did 2 rows 2 dc in V-st puff stitch row double crochet I space between V-Stitch Puff Stitches rows , and last 2 rows double crochet dec rows decrease then cinch together, then add pompom. If you want me to post my hat to show what I did. I changed it because I didn't want such a gap of a hole, in the first dec row.
Thank you! that was very nice of you!
Too confusing to understand, sorry...
Love it
Summer here in Tasmania too, I still keep crocheting at night, as I paint during the day. Love this pattern ❤️ Love the cats too 🐱🐱❤️❤️

Thank you so much
Hi Sirin! I love this hat and all of your hats! I don’t know what I did wrong with this one though? The first time I tried this one was with a 100% acrylic size 4 yarn that is a roving yarn. I noticed it seemed to be coming out way too large even before the decrease row you did. I ended up taking that one completely apart. I tried again using a size 4 yarn that is 20% wool and 80% acrylic thinking it would work better due to the consistent texture. This time I used a 5.5 mm hook and measured my brim the same as yours, about 18”. I made my sc and made certain I had a multiple of 3. When it came to the row of decreases one row was not enough for me. I made two rows of decreases in puff stitches. Then after my total 10 rows I did the exact rows of dc decrease stitches to close my hat. It still looked too big. I kept finishing it hoping it would get better but it just came out too big even with the different yarn and two rows of decreased puff stitches and, a smaller hook. I know it seems impossible to see what someone else possibly did wrong but in my effort to not make this too large a second time I wonder if actually using a smaller hook because I had more rows than you did initially even though my sc were a multiple of 3 (I had a total of 72) that gave me too many sets of puff stitches I think? I’m not sure? Thank you for your time and I love your video tutorials!!! ❤️ I am a very visual learner and I do not read patterns well myself. You are extremely talented and I have immense respect for your work. Thank you for sharing your talent with us! ❤️
Your accent is so adorable
🙈Thank you 😻
I'm thinking with a different kind of yarn I could adapt this pattern to make a skirt! I would use what is the brim, or bottom of the hat as a waistband, making it big enough to fit my waist, and then maybe do the puff v-stitches with a treble crochet instead of double crochet. To make the kind of skirt I want, I would have to figure out how to make increases, to make this an a-line skirt, but that shouldn't be too hard to do!
You can make increases easyly. Just make 3 puff stitches instead of doing two. Make 2 puff s. For 4 times and then make 3 into same place. Repeat this for all the row. Next row when you reach your 3 p.s. make 2 puff stitches between first to and then make chains, make 2 p.s between last two. I hope that could help. ❤
Beautiful hat Sirin and I love the sounds of the birds in the background , are they outside or inside in a cage ? 😊Amanda xx🕊
They are outside Amanda. My cats love to watch them so they are always on my desk( Next to window) 😂
Super 👍♥️
Loved ❤️❤️❤️

Hi, I just found your channel. I look forward to watching your videos
Welcome. Glad you like my works ❤💚
Very pretty and easy, thank you for sharing....one question, in the round of decreases I have the same number of stitches of the previuos round, when I crochet the next round I have the same, so how many points should I have?
When you finish decrease row you will have 3 or 4 less points. If you start with the same stitchs you will have 3 less points 💙😽
It's a bit confusing for me. Do you decrease after a set. You say a total of 3 but. It sounded like more. Help.
I love this! What category of yarn are you using? Is it bulky?
It is a very nice and beautiful i am made for my little girl Lara an icecap3
