  • I made a bowl from a piece of ash and decorated it with a wire burner.
I used an ash wood bowl blank that I previously sawed and treated with sealer and set aside to dry.
After turning the bowl, I used a wire burner to burn two grooves in it.
I finished the bowl with 3 coats of sealer and then sanded to 600 grit.
The bowl has a diameter of 29 centimeters and is 10 centimeters high.

That’s a very nice bowl. A couple of questions if I may. Did you process and dry the original blank? ( mine look so manky in comparison
What was the sealer you put on?

Hey Brett, yes, I prepared this ash wood myself. I bought a trailer full of ash and oak wood, which I cut to size with a band saw, treated with PVA glue, and set it aside to dry.
The sealer I used is Borma quick-drying wood sealant, which is what is often used. partsandpieces.nl/en/product/borma-wachs-basis-voor-sneldrogende-houtvuller/
