Waterwings are a painful blend of strong, tough, and fast. And the latter two are boosted by the fact that they're only medium size and lacking in vulnerable points. They also have a bad habit of not staying still for easy shots even when they're not alert.
Horizon has had some difficult machines pop up. But I'll tell you this, the Waterwing is a nightmare. Definitely the hardest fights I've had in Horizon to this day. North of Fleet's End there is a Waterwing site. The site has 4 Waterwings, 3-4 Apex Burrowers an a pair of Sunwings. Its a literal hell, those 4 Waterwings make this fight the hardest encounter ive ever dealt with. Waterwings are surprisingly durable as hell, and quick as hell with overwhelming melee Ground based attacks. Removing their beak and the two areas on their wings are key to weakening their attacks and smoke bombs for when it gets too overwhelming lol.
You should trying linking this with chain burst valor surge, once you have them all tied down you can equip the valor surge then you could freeze all the water wings at the same time then your sustained burst move will hit all the water wings.
I like using the Blast Forge with 3 Elite Critical and 2 Purple 25% Crit Damage. You get 70% chance to do a Critical hit and 95% Crit Damage boost. The Blast Forge has a bulit in 10% and a 15% chance to crit perk.
@@christian751, you wouldn't need sustained burst ever. Just use the other two abilities. One for massive crit close range , the other for long range Crit damage. Eg. I cause brittle then overdraw while in concentration then follow up quickly with a Ultra shot then back to overdraw then Ultra Shot... easy quick win.
These things are a terrifyingly perfect blend of incredibly fast, relentlessness & unusually durable Being they are always in flocks, its super easy to underestimate them which is always the first mistake but like even the hardiest of challenges, practice, patience and a bit of luck help out
Just smoke bomb 💣 and hit critical part with concentrate to slow time lol they are very easy i dont know how people's are having problem with it the only one that i had problems with was fighting to frog's they be annoying but thats about it

Question, on your blastforge, how many of the close range and impact do you have in it?
Example like 3 close range then 2 impacts?

They are unassumingly tanky
They're the only machine I've fought that takes shots from Iriv's Downfall and keeps coming.
Short Version of the tactic : "Brittle Blasting"
Medium Version : "Rope 'em, Freeze 'em, Blast 'em"
