⚠CORRECTION: Instant chances from different instant coils do NOT pool together as I stated. Instead, they simply provide a chance for that particular element to trigger, as you would expect. It may seem like they pool because a full set of instant chance coils triggers their corresponding states very often, but this is simply because each one has its corresponding chance to trigger. In other words, if you have 5 instant chance coils for 5 different elements and each one has a 2% chance to trigger, there's a 10% chance on any given shot for an elemental state to trigger, but each elemental state individually only has a 2% chance.

Another thing, are you sure that the two damage bonuses you mentioned from Ranged Master are Cumulative? Aka the Ranged Weapon & Weapon Technique Damage? What makes you say that they're Cumulative? I always assumed they were not, as there's nothing to imply that they are.
warrior bows are so useful in the endgame especially on ultra hard, due to their ammo being so resource efficient, combine it with freeze and spread shot machines don't stand a chance
I'm on ultra hard and didn't do new game+ because this is my first playthrough not really knowing what to do because I really want to stay away from arena for some of the hunter bows so I was going to go with a warrior bow, I have sun scourge with all freeze coils and instant brittle chance coils so maybe I should switch to warrior build haha
Yes. Sun scourge hunter bow with freeze, followed by carja bane warrior bow spread shot. Recipe for success with that combo. I agree and like your comment 👍 Edit: don't forget a valor surge with that combo. Either range or critical will do just fine. Good hunting!👍

I have about 70 hours or so playing this game and I knew I haven't been using the weapons to their full extend. I've been running around and struggling due to my lack of preparation and weapon modifications. Cheers for yet another great guide. I especially appreciate that tip about how to spam the spread shot technique efficiently without the annoying pause in between. That tip about how to use a melee attack instead of accidentally landing a critical strike was really neat too. I have been using a different method all this time though, which is to jump before tapping R1 on a downed/bound target since that never gives the prompt for critical strikes too. Also, something I learned recently on the subreddit was that melee follow-up is actually a debuff that lasts on the target for roughly 6-7 seconds and it also applies to other weapons you have equipped instead of just the warrior bow that triggers the effect. So for example, with a Carja's Bane fully slotted with melee follow-up coils, I can tap a machine with a melee attack then quickly swap over to a boltblaster to take advantage of a whopping 165% damage buff to my shots within those few seconds.
The jump technick is the one i used before also, but the locked animation always bothered me, especially when you have such a narrow time windows (about 6 seconds and NOT like the Guide Book says: 10). Your last paragraph, is sadly, out of date. That was fixed few Patches ago, and is no longer working. My guess how it works now is: MFU Buffs is on Aloy as Active or not. IF Active, use the MFU value of the currently equipt weapon. But was Fun while it lasted, since MFU worked with EVERYTHING (except Robe Strength), Carja MFU + Spinthorn for super fast Knockdown. Yes i retested it with Patch 1.18, will put the playlist as answer to mine post here. Cheers!
@@paristeta5483 Yea, I learned that the MFU buff lasted around 6-7 seconds too, though the poster who answered me also mentioned that if you hold concentration all the way, the slowdown could extend it to around 10 seconds. Also, thanks for informing about MFU being fixed in a patch. Guess it would have been silly to keep it as is with the number of weapons you could buff with it, lol.
I was sure you'd have to drop to lower difficulty to get good footage for this one, then I saw - no health bar. You downed all these machines with a warrior bow on ultra hard!! Great as always! Really liked the way you actually scrolled through to the different weapon techniques and valour surges whilst talking about them. I also rarely use burst fire, except maybe against human enemies like you said. But it still can't beat hitting them with melee detonator and watching them explode 👊😆
Having an effective & resource efficient option in the arsenal would have been awesome on my first playthrough. When I do newgame+ I am for sure using this. It also looks incredibly effective for preserving that valuable sack webbing when fighting fireclaws maybe?
Yes! They are super resource efficient. That’s one of the best things about them in my opinion. Actually, they’re not great for preserving the sac webbing though. It’s easier to accidentally hit it since Warrior Bows aren’t very accurate. If you can manage to hit a different area of the Fireclaw though then they’ll work well. Hope you enjoy NG+!
I'm near the end of my 2nd playthrough and these videos are such a huge help in maximizing the full potential of these weapons. Not to mention how fun they are to use, when using them properly.
0:10 Commenting before watching farther. I wasn't a warrior bow fan either, however, the light arrows when used on certain bows I believe do more damage than regular arrows on even the strongest hunter bow with regular arrows (which i believe is 47 damage on the sunshot hunter bow vs 53 damage on the deathrattle warrior bow). Warrior bows do have very short range and aren't precise when you're trying to attack components, but because they can be fired at full damage without fully drawing, the damage per minute relative to resources used of warrior bows is superior to hunter bows (my preferred weapon). This is especially effective against large frozen machines which have a large area to strike and take full damage wherever you hit them. The firestorm warrior bow is effective when used against metalbite canisters, blaze canisters and sparkers, and knocked machines are easy to hit. The firestorm warrior bow with maximum shock coils and the warrior bow with light freeze are very effective against machines like stalkers that are quite agile and don't sit still for long.
Correct, though haven´t used a lot of chain reaction until recently. Most people see the low damage, and low increase via coils and see the lack of precision. The information, that there is no damage penalty is the most important, which allows it to fire 1,5 Arrows per seconds (Compared to roughly 1 arrow every 2 seconds for Hunter Bows, and every 4 seconds for Sharpshot bows). Also the Crit Modifier is hidden deep in the Notebook, which is also a key trait to the weapon. Stalkers need a buff, they became so weak. Weak to shock and especially a good victim for a warrior bow, because they have no armor, you always hit a weakspot or a normal spot..
Agreed all around! And good point on Warrior Both impact damage stats being on par or even exceeding Hunter Bows. I think a lot of players use Hunter Bows for damage when they’re really intended to be a tear weapon. And at the same time I bet most people also have it in their heads that Warrior Bows must be weaker than Hunter Bows since they smaller, but it’s just not true, especially with Spread Shot!

After watching this video I gave it a try to switch to warrior bows. It turned out to be super fun! I used to beat strong enemies with sharpshot bow+powershot, but in ultra hard mode this play style is inefficient and not good against a bunch of small machines with buffed hp and damage. I had to deal with them using spike throwers and that costed a lot! I now use both legendary warrior bows combined with a ropecaster, and they can easily handle all the situations. I load carja bane with 5 inst freeze coils, whcih triggers brittle every few seconds. Then wtich to rain of sparks loaded with 5 critical chance coils. Sometimes the rain of sparks triggers the 6% inst burning state, then I switch back to carja bane and reapply the brittle. Each time the status is triggered, it staggers the machine for a few seconds, giving you the time to breathe. And since in most of the times I need to stay close to the enemies, I have to keep dodging/using items like playing an actual ARPG. Occasionally I would also knockdown some large machines with a spikethrower to take advantage of the 40% build in knockdown damage on the sparks bow. I can't wait for the dlc! Looking forward to more weapons and new combinations that can change the game!

I haven't used the Warrior Bows except in the Gauntlet Runs, so this video definitely has me curious enough to go back and see what I can do with them. Also, Ark, on a previous video, I mentioned how I was stockpiling resources BEFORE engaging Ultra Hard mode, and you, along with several others, like the idea. Perhaps you should make a video that highlights these little unconventional gameplay ideas, since I'm sure I'm not the only one to come up with a surprise method.
LOL that's me being my paranoid Final Fantasy self, I wouldn't even consider going into Ultra Hard until I had almost five thousand volatile sludges. That said, I did learn that stocking up on Large potions of any kind was easiest/fastest at L Landfall, and that food acts like coils on armor (IE, they don't stack. If you've got Plus 2 Weapon Stamina or Plus 2 Stamina regen coils on your armor, food that boosts that doesn't seem to stack. Same with concentration. However, if one has been foolishly gathering ingredients constantly and then patiently making five food at a time and walking three hundred yards to store said five food in her trunk, then in a way that can temporarily free up an armor slot for boss battles!) ........... Super Nintendo RPG Grinding kinda backfires in this game. *looks around her* In this era, really. But it DOES make it easier. With all the sludge especially (apex spikesnouts at the shellsnapper site in front of the west of the base) I'm far less insecure about using my best sharpshot arrows. Best wishes Rob, my best advice is if you're going farm, do it for Large potions of both classes, especially if you're like me and can't dodge for potatoes. *looks at her pile of over seven hundred potions of each that's she has steadily burnt through a quarter of already and is only at Gemini*

This is the content that makes Arktix so good. There’s a ton of excellent information in here. Perhaps the most important of which is the final thing Arktix mentions at the tail end of the video. The fire rate of Warrior Bows generates Valor very rapidly. It’s completely possible to playthrough HFW without even using Valor Surges. But if you love Valor Surges (they can be very powerful), then Warrior Bows will build up that Valor meter really quickly, while consuming only very inexpensive ammunition.
As usual you have out done yourself. This guide is amazing, and is why in my ultra hard playthrough I'm using a warrior bow with a frost arrow hunter bow for anything in the game. At the moment I'm beating zero dawn on new game plus, then onto an ultra hard playthrough on that game cause I missed it when I played my first 5 playthroughs. But when I get back to finish my FW ultra hard run, I will feel right at home with my warrior bow w/ frost build. Thank you so much for what you do for the Horizon community. :)

I definitely have been getting used to using warrior bows with rebels and close up fights with smaller machines in groups. The speed of these little bows is insane. Also works well with the chain burst valor surge in those cases, which I’m also only now trying out. Take that scroungers!
Nice! Yeah Chain Burst is a good option for them as well. Especially in the multi-enemy situations like you’re describing. Hope you’re having fun with it!
Another fantastic tutorial. I love how you make these not only informative, with exactly the info players need, but fun to watch. Love your low key inclusive vibe too. Warrior bows are in my weapon wheel more and more because sometimes I just want to spam an enemy with elemental damage quickly so I can slow things down from a decent distance (haven’t really jelled with ropecasters yet.)

Mr. Arktix, Might I advice looking into the game's various foods! 🤔 I mostly ignored this feature, but it turns out that those dishes can temporarily raise skill levels not covered by armors and weaves! 😆
What do you mean exactly? That you can get most skills to Rank 4? Or did you meant it can cover skills, which aren´t in the Skill tree but ONLY on Outfit and Weaves (and Food then of course) ? The only think top of my head the the Max Health Food then, which isn´t a skill from Tree/Outfit/Weave.
@@paristeta5483 food can temporarily increase a specific skill, like Stamina+ or Valor Surge Master, by 2~3 level, effectively raising it to level 4! This means that you can use skills that your armors and weaves do not account for, like being able to temporarily use Dodge Master on the Nora Thunder Warrior!

Yes! Thank you for the reminder. I am aware of this, but I have to admit I rarely use food items since I find I just don’t need them, but I probably should use them more. As you say, it’s a great way to augment your outfit’s perks and weaves!
@@ArktixOfficial Yeah... I admit that I only ever use the food that increases damage resistance at low health. Personally, I think that any future DLC should really increase the usefulness of food and potions by: 1. Increasing the amount of food we can carry. 2. Increasing the duration of food and potions. 3. Introducing new foods that give multiple boosts. 4. Give secondary effects to existing potions (EXAMPLE: stamina potions make stamina go over the limit similar to health potions)

On a different note, coiling the Carja Bane with 5 critical chance coils finally gives me a combo for corrode. Despite 900 hours of playtime, I could never quite figure out what to do when a machine got corroded. Spamming spreadshots with critical coiled carja bane (great corroding and agility perks) works wonders on UltraHard. So thanks again for another amazing MasterClass video my friend.
In prep for this vid, I started playing with my fully upgraded Carja’s Bane and it is pretty fun to just continually pepper enemies, machine or human, because it can also make them stagger and delay their counter attacks. Finished a VH endgame run basically doing that and some of the final encounters were quite easier than I previously found!
Additonal Info and Comments. 1. Thank you for mentioning me 2. The "constant" quick fire for the WT is top notch, like i mentioned in discord (come all and join), i think other WTs behave like that also, Testing needed. 3. Around Minute 5. you can stack Low Health Range on top of that, for another 80% damage! And if you like Mounts...another +50% (don´t recommend, because you need to be close). 4. To add to the "why no close range coils" . Don´t think the reason is "to powerful", i mean Sharpshoot Bows can have Long Range Coils. Rather, that the MFU Coil is the Warrior Bows thing. 5. Knockdown Damage is good but has a Damage Treshhold: Light/Medium/Heavy = 180/545/1091 Shock is about the same. Shock triggers a Knockdown state Valor gain, but dosn´t count as Knockdown for damage or coils or other effects. Could be a Bug, that the states hinder each other. You can put a Knockdown Target into shock, but not a shocked target into knockdown (or roped into knockdown). The Footage of the poor Thunderjaw getting "sliced" is top notch and shows off the Power of Warrior Bows and Knockdown, and the high tear Value (especially with Spread Shot) of Warrior Bows, you probably forgot to mention ;-) 6. Instant Coils: When Using 5-6 instant chances, every state trigger gives Valor Surge, best way to build up valor, combine with weakspot hits and removal of components. Also Staggers the enemy. And no, Warrior Bows are not the only one who can make good use of all instant coils, dedicated Hunter Bows can do that, you fire up to 50% slower (tap fire) but you get nearly triple the range (25 vs 60) and more accuracy. 50% sounds a lot, but 10-20 seconds or 15-30 seconds isn´t much of a difference as long as it´s not about a timed challenge. 7. Melee integration --> Here OVerdraw if available, can make sense, because of the quick draw mechanic. With Jump Of Attack Damage (Impact) is increased by 20% (multiplicator). I think that applies to Resonator too, but not 100% sure if it´s in the game. 8. There are no bad Warrior Bows! Shearing is the first blue one you can get, already in No Mans Land (The Daunt, No Mans Land, Clan Lands). And the 25% Component Tear that early in the game is top, making ii from 57 to 67,5.. or 101,25 Tear per second. 337,5 per Spread Shot all not including crit. 9. The Burning Enemy Coils is there to take advantage how the game calculates damage, this allows for the same damage as an all crit build, because you may not have that many crit coils to go around. Damage difference is about ONE. Coil Worth Burning State 18% and the 15er Crit coil is worth 18,75%. 10. Not Fan of impact coils, low base damage means low increase, but especially in the first to games, not enough coils around. I don´t use them that much still, thank goth, i have about 40 of these 15% Concentration Coils. 11. Valor Surges --> Already explained of to build up Valor fast on point 6, so reread that^^ BUT there is one thing i really need to complain about. You didn´t Mention Part Breaker. The High Fire Rate works great with that, even with Part Breaker low duration (18 sec i think?) but you fire 1,5 shots per second, so 36 instances to trigger Scrap Loot, which as Blastpaste, Spikes (up to 4) Sludge and Crystalbrading (up to 2) saving 100 of shards. And also getting shards. 12. Leave a comment[...] *looks at list* oooops ;-) Besides the already high standards, or better class, of your videos, i think this was a step up, information more together the footage fits better then usually (the acted very generous, i know how hard it can be to get good footage). I don´t know if i imagine things, but i have the feeling that the pauses between sentences is shorter and less pause. The only thing i would like to criticize: The missing "Why" with the multi element builds. Showing the tearing power, but not really mentioning it (and that crit damage effects tear also) and the omitting of Part Breaker. Yeah that was 3, but there are more or less the same point, just in more detail. So again, execellent work, even more so.!
I'm still learning so I just want to see if I understood this correctly. Regarding point number six and best way to build Valor. Assuming a legendary warrior bow with five coils slots you would then put an "instant chance to .." coil in every shot because every time it procs you generate Valor? What about sustained fire on a rattler as an alternative? Wouldn't every single hit have a chance to proc a coil as well and as a result generate tons of Valor?
@@Mocorn With every activation of an Elemental State, be it through Build Up or Instant chance, you get a certain amount of Valor, depending on the Machine Size. With Valor Surge Master Rank 2 it was 27 on Large Machines i think. You need different coils, because a effect is never refreshred, i.e. while Burning is active you wont get another. The Chance of the effect happening, is generally per Burst (or per button press if you will). For Warrior Bows it means that Spread Shot and Burst Fire won´t give you 5 or 3 times higher chances, just the same as a single shot, of which a Warrior Bow fires 1,5 per second. Same for the Boltblaster, Dosn´t matter if you Tap (3 shots) Draw/Overdraw (6 Shots) Spread Blast (8 Shots) or Sustained Fire (up to 50 Shots), the chance is the same as with a single shot (For Boltblaster this means Tapping or Draw/Overdraw, so 3 or 6 Shots). And by the way, Sustained Burst on Boltblasters can´t be critical hits either. The only advantage you could have, is that if you hit multiple enemies, with one attack which is able to do that, that you also can get multiple effects spread over the enemies hit. This is a sperated chance for each enemy. I tested it with the Spread Shot from the wbow, can´t say about the other, but i suspect they work the same.
I was wondering how the maths work for the special "Multi Instant elemental" coil build on a Rain of Spark, considering the built-in 6% insta fire? Let say that we have five 2% instant non fire elemental with that pooled chance of 10% whatever the mix is, if I'm following right. On RoS, will it be a 16% chance of whatever including fire in equal proportion, or something more heavily squewed toward fire in terms of procc chance?

Warrior Bows and Bolt Blasters actually have an very interesting synergy. Ensuring a status effect is always on with an instant chance coil. In particular though Warrior Bow with instant shock chance and a Bolt Blaster with instant Brittle/Corrosive. Use the Warrior to max damage on the enemy that is moving. When the enemy gets shocked follow up with a hail of bolts from your blaster. This will likely Brittle/Corrosive them. You can do a lot with multiple weapons.

I used the legendary "Carja's Bane" warrior bow on the "Frozen Wilds" arena on very hard with the "Carja Stalker Elite" Outfit. after many attempts I realize that puting mass amounts on bombs and freeze then Bane them is the ultimate strategy.. since then I use it in my layout on regular basis- thank you for the great video as always :)
Cool! Yeah like I mentioned in the video I really never used Warrior Bows much either, but in the process of making the video they kinda grew on me lol

I feel like switching to warrior bows would be like when I first changed from PC to Mac: it's a whole new world in which things work differently enough to make it overwhelming at first, but in the end you're probably a convert 😂😂 I don't think I'm ready for the switch just yet, but your vid has definitely made it something I'll be willing to try in the future!
Warrior bow is probably the best weapon for valor surge building, using something like Valor surge master. Combine with elemental overload for a long shock and use the window to build the valor surge back to full with the spread shot spam.
My prefered use for warrior bows isnt damage but to use it with the partbreaker valor surge and all instant elemental coils. Since you constantly trigger an elemental state you dont need to dodge that much and when fightling large machines like slaughterspines you can maybe even get your surge off 2 times netting a lot of rescources.
Nice! Yeah I didn’t mention Part Breaker since it’s hard to be accurate with a Warrior Bow to hit components or weak spots, but maybe I should have mentioned it briefly. Glad it works well for you!

Hey thanks! I appreciate your support 😄 And yup I don’t have videos for those yet. Technically, I also don’t have one for Hunter Bows or Sharpshot Bows, but I’m not sure that’s needed. Although, someone did request one…Anyway, I plan on doing a rooecaster one at some point. Not sure about tripcasters. I don’t think many players use them, and they honestly aren’t very useful unless you’re really into a stealth/trapping playstyle. Blastslings will get a video when/if they get fixed. At the moment, their knockdown mechanics, which are their most useful feature, seem to be bugged, so I don’t want to do a video on them until that’s fixed.
Adhesive is great for disabling charge attacks on enemies like Thunderjaws or Scorchers, especially when fighting while mounted. You can easily kite around them with Mounted Archer while they shoot behind you, since they can't charge and knock you off.
It´s sadly overshadow by all other stuff, same with purgewater but could be so interssting. Charge pervention and mount sounds like a very good combination. After Removing the weapons, you can more or less force a Thunderjaw in Ranged or Meleee "mode". With purgewater Laser is disabled, but you have to deal with charge, stomp and the two bite attacks, or disable the charge attack and keep distance, and it uses it´s range attacks more. And before desperation kicks in, Charge is one of those with a good chance to instant kill you on high difficulty levels.
True yeah. It has some limited use. I just find it so underwhelming compared to what I expect it to do. Never feels worth it to me to bother building it up. But I’m glad you have a good use for it in your playstyle!
@@ArktixOfficial What would be sweet is if adhesive acted like frost, but for knockdown power. Doubled knock down would be pretty amazing and let knockdown damage builds shine more often. Alternatively, if it had a weaker boost but let knockdown hits work on any part of the body and not just legs, that would be great too.
I have carja's bane equipped with all possible acid coils totaling 10% chance of acid state, and let me tell you it works amazing then I also eqipd a extra damage buff on acid induced machines, that equipped with the carja's already perk of extra damage on acid, it is amazing I can always induce acid state from like first shot to about 10 shots. Highly reccommend, also since ammo is cheapo really great way to save on shards.

True true. Yeah I don’t actually think they’ll be really upset with me or anything lol. And like you said, hopefully it pushes them a bit to get another update out that maybe fixes some other things too. Honestly, part of my motivation for posting these exploit videos is because I kinda want them patched soon. I find when these things go on too long with games it starts to make the game less fun for everyone and creates issues. For example, the infinite jump is currently causing issues in the speed running community (is it allowed, is it not?)
I didn't realize how good Warrior bows could be until towards the end of my first playthrough. I intentionally didn't get the carjas bane because I knew there was one available in NG+. Rain of Sparks has been super frustrating because of the reason mentioned here. Instant burn chance overriding the brittle state. I've actually stashed rain of sparks in favor of the deathrattle. I'm nervous to attempt all the gauntlet runs on ultra hard to get Carjas Bane. I only did the first gauntlet runs I encountered on Very Hard and imagine they increase in difficulty the farther west you go.
Having done all the gauntlet races on Very Hard, I personally felt that they're mostly not too bad so long as you make use of items like the blaze boost and disrupt the other racers with arrows or melee attacks. The very last race that gives the Carja's Bane was pretty tough though, and it took me several retries to finally get the win.
Ah yeah that RoS is pretty annoying with it’s instant burning chance lol. And I think you’ll be able to do the gauntlet runs even on UH. The last one is pretty tough and took me a handful of attempts, but it’s nothing like trying to beat the Arena challenges. Good luck!
Would melee followup apply to the jump off technique? That has a built in damage bonus applied. With any luck it'd also count for the agility coils which would give a very nice bonus. Since it'd be triggering melee followup coils, agility coils, potentially concentration coils, and its own inherent damage bonus.
Yes, those are Melee Attacks and count for MFU. Only Silent/Critical Strike don´t count (and Death from above/below does not count either). So on top of the MFU Buff, you can also have that nice 20% extra impact buff.
Thanks! And yes, Blastslings are on my list, but their most useful feature (in my opinion), which is the ability to trigger knockdowns with explosive damage easily, seems to be glitched at the moment. I'm hoping they fix that soon and then I'd totally do a video.

Ha... I used the Firestorm for the latter half of my first playthrough. So I always found it a bit funny how in an older video review you claimed nobody uses warrior bows for elemental buildup. Admittedly, I haven't used it much since getting the triple element legendary hunter bow, but it is amusing to see the shift in opinion all the same. All that said, I didn't know about the no penalty tap firing, so that's a useful tip to play around with, as is using melee follow-up coils to boost elemental buildup. I might just need to dig my Firestorm back out.
Knowledge of the game is ever increasing. I wish some thing were more clear back when i started. Communication is a thing, the devs could improve a lot. Sun Scourge is OP as f... has Frost and Adv. Arrow, also acid, the second best thing and 5 Coil Slots. The Lack of other weapon advanced Elemental Arrows (besides SSBows Plasma) and lack of coil slits sets back alll the other options for elemental application, especially for higher difficulty, where the elemental treshholds are a lot higher.
Glad you found those tips helpful! And yeah my stance definitely shifted lol. As Paris said, we’re always figuring out new ways to leverage different mechanics in the game, so playstyles evolve. That being said, I honestly use my Sun Scourge almost all the time for elemental build up, and I’m not sure I’d use a warrior bow even if I didn’t have it. Something like the Seeker Hunter Bow would probably still be my preferred option. But I wanted to show warrior bows can be used for elemental buildup if it makes sense for your playstyle.
Quick question: Regarding the 'Melee Follow-up' coils, is it "shoot with bow and increase melee damage", or "strike target in melee and increase bow damage"? Because I thought it was the second, which would synergize with the resonator skills.

Btw i dont know if u know or anyone else but theres a serious!!!! I mean hella crazy almost simular as zero dawn movement mechanic thats broken... it makes u faster and have more finess when traveling in no mount zones or when grinding but i love it for fights or to evade fights, its kinda like the slide cancel mechanic in cod... u wait till aloy gets that initial speed after sprinting for a sec even less depending if u got momentum going down hill or on a flat surface and u press square... then u wait 1 or 2 whole seconds even less depending on land/momentum/situation and then u click square again when ever u want to cancel the slide and then sqaure again to stand up and rinse n repeat with dodge rolls here and there over rocks and stuff and u got your self a pretty finess way of going about shit in this game... its honestly my favorite part. Of this game XD
I think it's definitely the most easiest weapon for everyone to use & also super cheap😎 If you equip 4 critical hit chance coils + 1 impact damage coil on either Carja's Bane or Rain of Sparks + Use Critical Boost Valor Surge, Freeze the enemy, and just spam the Warrior bow, machines will be dead in just a blink of an eye🔥🔥😌
Not specifically, but I do talk about that a bit in my advanced combat tips video and "are you ready for ultra hard" video. I keep my toolkit cleanup up so there's not so many things to scroll through when looking for potions.
You were a fool if you didn't like Warrior Bows before. They are amazing when utilized correctly & the ammo is DIRT cheap! They also have fantastic damage when focusing your build on Critical Hits, since they fire so fast & get 2x damage when Critting. Inflicting Frost on the foe, activating the Crit Valor Surge & unleashing Spread Shots in rapid succession will decimate most any foe!
Hey Arktix, great video and insights! May I ask you about the boost from different valor surges and their impact on weapon techniques. So if the valor increases critical chance - this is only for regular shots but not weapon technique (like burst shot), but what about critical damage when you crit with weapon technique? does it still stay at x2 (e.g. in case of warrior bow but not x2 + 150%). And how this works for some special weapon techniques (like triple notch for hunter bows) does it mean that you also increase crit rate only by 15% since you charge 2nd or 3rd arrow or it will be actually 55% (in case of critical boost valor ) Thank you! :)

Good question! Yeah I’d say that’s about the right time. After finishing Seeds of the Past and going to Legacy’s Landfall your first time you’ll have basically the whole map open and you can wait to finish the last few quests. That’s a good time to go do a bunch of side content and level up your gear.
Is there an in-game explanation, or at least some head cannon, as to why elemental states don't stack? I'm hoping that they add this feature in part 3. Combo statuses would be neat. Sorry that this question isn't relevant to your video.
Good question. No in-game explanation that I know of. I think it's mostly just because they felt combinations would be too strong. I agree it would be really cool and fun to be able to combine them though!
Excellent video as always! But i disagree with the legendary warrior bow being the easiest to get, i have all the legendaries but that maybe i just can't race...any tips on beating the races please let us know
Make sure you are always picking up a powerup or ammo as often as possible. The boost is great. Also, use the melee attack when you are next to someone to save ammo. Finally, when you are in first, always look back and shoot at mounts to keep people from catching up to you. Using the bow often is key. You won't win through racing skill alone.
Ah ok yeah I can see how that would be a problem. I would agree with all the tips Javan mentioned here. Especially making sure you pick stuff up at each gate. I like speed boosts a lot. And definitely make sure your always trying to hit other racers to slow them down. And remember you can dodge their attacks on you. Good luck!
⚠CORRECTION: Instant chances from different instant coils do NOT pool together as I stated. Instead, they simply provide a chance for that particular element to trigger, as you would expect. It may seem like they pool because a full set of instant chance coils triggers their corresponding states very often, but this is simply because each one has its corresponding chance to trigger. In other words, if you have 5 instant chance coils for 5 different elements and each one has a 2% chance to trigger, there's a 10% chance on any given shot for an elemental state to trigger, but each elemental state individually only has a 2% chance.

Another thing, are you sure that the two damage bonuses you mentioned from Ranged Master are Cumulative? Aka the Ranged Weapon & Weapon Technique Damage? What makes you say that they're Cumulative? I always assumed they were not, as there's nothing to imply that they are.
warrior bows are so useful in the endgame especially on ultra hard, due to their ammo being so resource efficient, combine it with freeze and spread shot machines don't stand a chance
I'm on ultra hard and didn't do new game+ because this is my first playthrough not really knowing what to do because I really want to stay away from arena for some of the hunter bows so I was going to go with a warrior bow, I have sun scourge with all freeze coils and instant brittle chance coils so maybe I should switch to warrior build haha

Cheers for yet another great guide. I especially appreciate that tip about how to spam the spread shot technique efficiently without the annoying pause in between.
That tip about how to use a melee attack instead of accidentally landing a critical strike was really neat too. I have been using a different method all this time though, which is to jump before tapping R1 on a downed/bound target since that never gives the prompt for critical strikes too.
Also, something I learned recently on the subreddit was that melee follow-up is actually a debuff that lasts on the target for roughly 6-7 seconds and it also applies to other weapons you have equipped instead of just the warrior bow that triggers the effect. So for example, with a Carja's Bane fully slotted with melee follow-up coils, I can tap a machine with a melee attack then quickly swap over to a boltblaster to take advantage of a whopping 165% damage buff to my shots within those few seconds.
The jump technick is the one i used before also, but the locked animation always bothered me, especially when you have such a narrow time windows (about 6 seconds and NOT like the Guide Book says: 10).
Your last paragraph, is sadly, out of date. That was fixed few Patches ago, and is no longer working.
My guess how it works now is: MFU Buffs is on Aloy as Active or not. IF Active, use the MFU value of the currently equipt weapon.
But was Fun while it lasted, since MFU worked with EVERYTHING (except Robe Strength), Carja MFU + Spinthorn for super fast Knockdown.

@@paristeta5483 Yea, I learned that the MFU buff lasted around 6-7 seconds too, though the poster who answered me also mentioned that if you hold concentration all the way, the slowdown could extend it to around 10 seconds.
Also, thanks for informing about MFU being fixed in a patch. Guess it would have been silly to keep it as is with the number of weapons you could buff with it, lol.
@@ashscar8878 Concentration Slows time to 50% so the 10 seconds seems correct. Haven´t tested if Aloy fires faster in concentration.

Having an effective & resource efficient option in the arsenal would have been awesome on my first playthrough. When I do newgame+ I am for sure using this. It also looks incredibly effective for preserving that valuable sack webbing when fighting fireclaws maybe?
Yes! They are super resource efficient. That’s one of the best things about them in my opinion. Actually, they’re not great for preserving the sac webbing though. It’s easier to accidentally hit it since Warrior Bows aren’t very accurate. If you can manage to hit a different area of the Fireclaw though then they’ll work well. Hope you enjoy NG+!
I'm near the end of my 2nd playthrough and these videos are such a huge help in maximizing the full potential of these weapons. Not to mention how fun they are to use, when using them properly.

0:10 Commenting before watching farther. I wasn't a warrior bow fan either, however, the light arrows when used on certain bows I believe do more damage than regular arrows on even the strongest hunter bow with regular arrows (which i believe is 47 damage on the sunshot hunter bow vs 53 damage on the deathrattle warrior bow). Warrior bows do have very short range and aren't precise when you're trying to attack components, but because they can be fired at full damage without fully drawing, the damage per minute relative to resources used of warrior bows is superior to hunter bows (my preferred weapon). This is especially effective against large frozen machines which have a large area to strike and take full damage wherever you hit them. The firestorm warrior bow is effective when used against metalbite canisters, blaze canisters and sparkers, and knocked machines are easy to hit. The firestorm warrior bow with maximum shock coils and the warrior bow with light freeze are very effective against machines like stalkers that are quite agile and don't sit still for long.
Correct, though haven´t used a lot of chain reaction until recently. Most people see the low damage, and low increase via coils and see the lack of precision. The information, that there is no damage penalty is the most important, which allows it to fire 1,5 Arrows per seconds (Compared to roughly 1 arrow every 2 seconds for Hunter Bows, and every 4 seconds for Sharpshot bows). Also the Crit Modifier is hidden deep in the Notebook, which is also a key trait to the weapon.
Stalkers need a buff, they became so weak. Weak to shock and especially a good victim for a warrior bow, because they have no armor, you always hit a weakspot or a normal spot..
Agreed all around! And good point on Warrior Both impact damage stats being on par or even exceeding Hunter Bows. I think a lot of players use Hunter Bows for damage when they’re really intended to be a tear weapon. And at the same time I bet most people also have it in their heads that Warrior Bows must be weaker than Hunter Bows since they smaller, but it’s just not true, especially with Spread Shot!

After watching this video I gave it a try to switch to warrior bows. It turned out to be super fun!
I used to beat strong enemies with sharpshot bow+powershot, but in ultra hard mode this play style is inefficient and not good against a bunch of small machines with buffed hp and damage. I had to deal with them using spike throwers and that costed a lot!
I now use both legendary warrior bows combined with a ropecaster, and they can easily handle all the situations.
I load carja bane with 5 inst freeze coils, whcih triggers brittle every few seconds. Then wtich to rain of sparks loaded with 5 critical chance coils. Sometimes the rain of sparks triggers the 6% inst burning state, then I switch back to carja bane and reapply the brittle. Each time the status is triggered, it staggers the machine for a few seconds, giving you the time to breathe. And since in most of the times I need to stay close to the enemies, I have to keep dodging/using items like playing an actual ARPG.
Occasionally I would also knockdown some large machines with a spikethrower to take advantage of the 40% build in knockdown damage on the sparks bow.
I can't wait for the dlc! Looking forward to more weapons and new combinations that can change the game!

Man I hope we all live long enough to get a PS5, I've spent a lot of hours in both Horizon games, but easily half of that is just taking scenic pictures of the gorgeous mythical American West. I'm on my PSPoor, a loving hard working sort that I fear is on its last legs. For a sick broken old gal like me, this is my main escapism. Love these games, and the hard work you and Paris and everyone put into maximizing the fun and challenges for us all.

I haven't used the Warrior Bows except in the Gauntlet Runs, so this video definitely has me curious enough to go back and see what I can do with them.
Also, Ark, on a previous video, I mentioned how I was stockpiling resources BEFORE engaging Ultra Hard mode, and you, along with several others, like the idea. Perhaps you should make a video that highlights these little unconventional gameplay ideas, since I'm sure I'm not the only one to come up with a surprise method.
LOL that's me being my paranoid Final Fantasy self, I wouldn't even consider going into Ultra Hard until I had almost five thousand volatile sludges. That said, I did learn that stocking up on Large potions of any kind was easiest/fastest at L Landfall, and that food acts like coils on armor (IE, they don't stack. If you've got Plus 2 Weapon Stamina or Plus 2 Stamina regen coils on your armor, food that boosts that doesn't seem to stack. Same with concentration. There’s a ton of excellent information in here. Perhaps the most important of which is the final thing Arktix mentions at the tail end of the video. The fire rate of Warrior Bows generates Valor very rapidly. It’s completely possible to playthrough HFW without even using Valor Surges. But if you love Valor Surges (they can be very powerful), then Warrior Bows will build up that Valor meter really quickly, while consuming only very inexpensive ammunition.
As usual you have out done yourself. This guide is amazing, and is why in my ultra hard playthrough I'm using a warrior bow with a frost arrow hunter bow for anything in the game. At the moment I'm beating zero dawn on new game plus, then onto an ultra hard playthrough on that game cause I missed it when I played my first 5 playthroughs. But when I get back to finish my FW ultra hard run, I will feel right at home with my warrior bow w/ frost build. Thank you so much for what you do for the Horizon community. :)

I definitely have been getting used to using warrior bows with rebels and close up fights with smaller machines in groups. The speed of these little bows is insane. Also works well with the chain burst valor surge in those cases, which I’m also only now trying out. Take that scroungers!

Warrior bows are in my weapon wheel more and more because sometimes I just want to spam an enemy with elemental damage quickly so I can slow things down from a decent distance (haven’t really jelled with ropecasters yet.)

What do you mean exactly? That you can get most skills to Rank 4? Or did you meant it can cover skills, which aren´t in the Skill tree but ONLY on Outfit and Weaves (and Food then of course) ? The only think top of my head the the Max Health Food then, which isn´t a skill from Tree/Outfit/Weave.
@@paristeta5483 food can temporarily increase a specific skill, like Stamina+ or Valor Surge Master, by 2~3 level, effectively raising it to level 4!
This means that you can use skills that your armors and weaves do not account for, like being able to temporarily use Dodge Master on the Nora Thunder Warrior!

Yes! Thank you for the reminder. I am aware of this, but I have to admit I rarely use food items since I find I just don’t need them, but I probably should use them more. As you say, it’s a great way to augment your outfit’s perks and weaves!

I admit that I only ever use the food that increases damage resistance at low health.
Personally, I think that any future DLC should really increase the usefulness of food and potions by:
1. Increasing the amount of food we can carry.
2. Increasing the duration of food and potions.
3. Introducing new foods that give multiple boosts.
4. Give secondary effects to existing potions (EXAMPLE: stamina potions make stamina go over the limit similar to health potions)

On a different note, coiling the Carja Bane with 5 critical chance coils finally gives me a combo for corrode. Despite 900 hours of playtime, I could never quite figure out what to do when a machine got corroded. Spamming spreadshots with critical coiled carja bane (great corroding and agility perks) works wonders on UltraHard. So thanks again for another amazing MasterClass video my friend.
In prep for this vid, I started playing with my fully upgraded Carja’s Bane and it is pretty fun to just continually pepper enemies, machine or human, because it can also make them stagger and delay their counter attacks. Finished a VH endgame run basically doing that and some of the final encounters were quite easier than I previously found!

Additonal Info and Comments.
1. Thank you for mentioning me
2. The "constant" quick fire for the WT is top notch, like i mentioned in discord (come all and join), i think other WTs behave like that also, Testing needed.
3. Around Minute 5. you can stack Low Health Range on top of that, for another 80% damage! And if you like Mounts...another +50% (don´t recommend, because you need to be close).
4. To add to the "why no close range coils" . Don´t think the reason is "to powerful", i mean Sharpshoot Bows can have Long Range Coils. Rather, that the MFU Coil is the Warrior Bows thing.
5. Knockdown Damage is good but has a Damage Treshhold: Light/Medium/Heavy = 180/545/1091 Shock is about the same. Shock triggers a Knockdown state Valor gain, but dosn´t count as Knockdown for damage or coils or other effects. Could be a Bug, that the states hinder each other. You can put a Knockdown Target into shock, but not a shocked target into knockdown (or roped into knockdown).
The Footage of the poor Thunderjaw getting "sliced" is top notch and shows off the Power of Warrior Bows and Knockdown, and the high tear Value (especially with Spread Shot) of Warrior Bows, you probably forgot to mention ;-)
6. Instant Coils: When Using 5-6 instant chances, every state trigger gives Valor Surge, best way to build up valor, combine with weakspot hits and removal of components. Also Staggers the enemy. And no, Warrior Bows are not the only one who can make good use of all instant coils, dedicated Hunter Bows can do that, you fire up to 50% slower (tap fire) but you get nearly triple the range (25 vs 60) and more accuracy. 50% sounds a lot, but 10-20 seconds or 15-30 seconds isn´t much of a difference as long as it´s not about a timed challenge.
7. Melee integration --> Here OVerdraw if available, can make sense, because of the quick draw mechanic. With Jump Of Attack Damage (Impact) is increased by 20% (multiplicator). I think that applies to Resonator too, but not 100% sure if it´s in the game.
8. There are no bad Warrior Bows! Shearing is the first blue one you can get, already in No Mans Land (The Daunt, No Mans Land, Clan Lands). And the 25% Component Tear that early in the game is top, making ii from 57 to 67,5.. or 101,25 Tear per second. 337,5 per Spread Shot all not including crit.
9. The Burning Enemy Coils is there to take advantage how the game calculates damage, this allows for the same damage as an all crit build, because you may not have that many crit coils to go around. Damage difference is about ONE. Coil Worth Burning State 18% and the 15er Crit coil is worth 18,75%.
10. Not Fan of impact coils, low base damage means low increase, but especially in the first to games, not enough coils around. I don´t use them that much still, thank goth, i have about 40 of these 15% Concentration Coils.
11. Valor Surges --> Already explained of to build up Valor fast on point 6, so reread that^^ BUT there is one thing i really need to complain about. You didn´t Mention Part Breaker. The High Fire Rate works great with that, even with Part Breaker low duration (18 sec i think?) but you fire 1,5 shots per second, so 36 instances to trigger Scrap Loot, which as Blastpaste, Spikes (up to 4) Sludge and Crystalbrading (up to 2) saving 100 of shards. And also getting shards.
12. Leave a comment[...] *looks at list* oooops ;-)
Besides the already high standards, or better class, of your videos, i think this was a step up, information more together the footage fits better then usually (the acted very generous, i know how hard it can be to get good footage). I don´t know if i imagine things, but i have the feeling that the pauses between sentences is shorter and less pause. The only thing i would like to criticize: The missing "Why" with the multi element builds. Showing the tearing power, but not really mentioning it (and that crit damage effects tear also) and the omitting of Part Breaker. Yeah that was 3, but there are more or less the same point, just in more detail.
So again, execellent work, even more so.!
I'm still learning so I just want to see if I understood this correctly. Regarding point number six and best way to build Valor. Assuming a legendary warrior bow with five coils slots you would then put an "instant chance to .." coil in every shot because every time it procs you generate Valor?
What about sustained fire on a rattler as an alternative? Wouldn't every single hit have a chance to proc a coil as well and as a result generate tons of Valor?
@@Mocorn With every activation of an Elemental State, be it through Build Up or Instant chance, you get a certain amount of Valor, depending on the Machine Size. With Valor Surge Master Rank 2 it was 27 on Large Machines i think. You need different coils, because a effect is never refreshred, i.e. while Burning is active you wont get another.
The Chance of the effect happening, is generally per Burst (or per button press if you will). For Warrior Bows it means that Spread Shot and Burst Fire won´t give you 5 or 3 times higher chances, just the same as a single shot, of which a Warrior Bow fires 1,5 per second.
Same for the Boltblaster, Dosn´t matter if you Tap (3 shots) Draw/Overdraw (6 Shots) Spread Blast (8 Shots) or Sustained Fire (up to 50 Shots), the chance is the same as with a single shot (For Boltblaster this means Tapping or Draw/Overdraw, so 3 or 6 Shots). And by the way, Sustained Burst on Boltblasters can´t be critical hits either.
The only advantage you could have, is that if you hit multiple enemies, with one attack which is able to do that, that you also can get multiple effects spread over the enemies hit. This is a sperated chance for each enemy. I tested it with the Spread Shot from the wbow, can´t say about the other, but i suspect they work the same.

I was wondering how the maths work for the special "Multi Instant elemental" coil build on a Rain of Spark, considering the built-in 6% insta fire?
Let say that we have five 2% instant non fire elemental with that pooled chance of 10% whatever the mix is, if I'm following right. On RoS, will it be a 16% chance of whatever including fire in equal proportion, or something more heavily squewed toward fire in terms of procc chance?

Warrior Bows and Bolt Blasters actually have an very interesting synergy.
Ensuring a status effect is always on with an instant chance coil. In particular though Warrior Bow with instant shock chance and a Bolt Blaster with instant Brittle/Corrosive. Use the Warrior to max damage on the enemy that is moving.
When the enemy gets shocked follow up with a hail of bolts from your blaster. This will likely Brittle/Corrosive them.
You can do a lot with multiple weapons.

I used the legendary "Carja's Bane" warrior bow on the "Frozen Wilds" arena on very hard with the "Carja Stalker Elite" Outfit.
after many attempts I realize that puting mass amounts on bombs and freeze then Bane them is the ultimate strategy..
since then I use it in my layout on regular basis- thank you for the great video as always :)

I'm on my 4th play through and just started using one and i was surprised how good they are.
Warrior bow is probably the best weapon for valor surge building, using something like Valor surge master. Combine with elemental overload for a long shock and use the window to build the valor surge back to full with the spread shot spam.

My prefered use for warrior bows isnt damage but to use it with the partbreaker valor surge and all instant elemental coils. Since you constantly trigger an elemental state you dont need to dodge that much and when fightling large machines like slaughterspines you can maybe even get your surge off 2 times netting a lot of rescources.

Hey thanks! I appreciate your support 😄 And yup I don’t have videos for those yet. Technically, I also don’t have one for Hunter Bows or Sharpshot Bows, but I’m not sure that’s needed. Although, someone did request one…Anyway, I plan on doing a rooecaster one at some point. Not sure about tripcasters. I don’t think many players use them, and they honestly aren’t very useful unless you’re really into a stealth/trapping playstyle. Blastslings will get a video when/if they get fixed. At the moment, their knockdown mechanics, which are their most useful feature, seem to be bugged, so I don’t want to do a video on them until that’s fixed.
BTW did you hear about the arena glitch I made 196mil shards and I also didn't know blasting were bugged
The warrior bow is my least favorite bow as I play sniper mainly and enjoy more “precision” bows, but this helped me a ton and I may try WB’s again!!

Adhesive is great for disabling charge attacks on enemies like Thunderjaws or Scorchers, especially when fighting while mounted. You can easily kite around them with Mounted Archer while they shoot behind you, since they can't charge and knock you off.
It´s sadly overshadow by all other stuff, same with purgewater but could be so interssting. Charge pervention and mount sounds like a very good combination.
After Removing the weapons, you can more or less force a Thunderjaw in Ranged or Meleee "mode". With purgewater Laser is disabled, but you have to deal with charge, stomp and the two bite attacks, or disable the charge attack and keep distance, and it uses it´s range attacks more. And before desperation kicks in, Charge is one of those with a good chance to instant kill you on high difficulty levels.
True yeah. It has some limited use. I just find it so underwhelming compared to what I expect it to do. Never feels worth it to me to bother building it up. But I’m glad you have a good use for it in your playstyle!
@@ArktixOfficial What would be sweet is if adhesive acted like frost, but for knockdown power. Doubled knock down would be pretty amazing and let knockdown damage builds shine more often. Alternatively, if it had a weaker boost but let knockdown hits work on any part of the body and not just legs, that would be great too.

I have carja's bane equipped with all possible acid coils totaling 10% chance of acid state, and let me tell you it works amazing then I also eqipd a extra damage buff on acid induced machines, that equipped with the carja's already perk of extra damage on acid, it is amazing I can always induce acid state from like first shot to about 10 shots. Highly reccommend, also since ammo is cheapo really great way to save on shards.

I didn't realize how good Warrior bows could be until towards the end of my first playthrough. I intentionally didn't get the carjas bane because I knew there was one available in NG+. Rain of Sparks has been super frustrating because of the reason mentioned here. Instant burn chance overriding the brittle state. I've actually stashed rain of sparks in favor of the deathrattle. I'm nervous to attempt all the gauntlet runs on ultra hard to get Carjas Bane. I only did the first gauntlet runs I encountered on Very Hard and imagine they increase in difficulty the farther west you go.
Having done all the gauntlet races on Very Hard, I personally felt that they're mostly not too bad so long as you make use of items like the blaze boost and disrupt the other racers with arrows or melee attacks. The very last race that gives the Carja's Bane was pretty tough though, and it took me several retries to finally get the win.
Ah yeah that RoS is pretty annoying with it’s instant burning chance lol. And I think you’ll be able to do the gauntlet runs even on UH. The last one is pretty tough and took me a handful of attempts, but it’s nothing like trying to beat the Arena challenges. Good luck!

Would melee followup apply to the jump off technique? That has a built in damage bonus applied. With any luck it'd also count for the agility coils which would give a very nice bonus. Since it'd be triggering melee followup coils, agility coils, potentially concentration coils, and its own inherent damage bonus.
Yes, those are Melee Attacks and count for MFU. Only Silent/Critical Strike don´t count (and Death from above/below does not count either).
So on top of the MFU Buff, you can also have that nice 20% extra impact buff.

How'd I miss this? Four playthroughs and couldn't get the hang of the warrior bow. With this video, maybe on number five...hmmm...

Ha... I used the Firestorm for the latter half of my first playthrough. So I always found it a bit funny how in an older video review you claimed nobody uses warrior bows for elemental buildup.
Admittedly, I haven't used it much since getting the triple element legendary hunter bow, but it is amusing to see the shift in opinion all the same.
All that said, I didn't know about the no penalty tap firing, so that's a useful tip to play around with, as is using melee follow-up coils to boost elemental buildup. I might just need to dig my Firestorm back out.
Knowledge of the game is ever increasing. I wish some thing were more clear back when i started. Communication is a thing, the devs could improve a lot.
Sun Scourge is OP as f... has Frost and Adv. Arrow, also acid, the second best thing and 5 Coil Slots. The Lack of other weapon advanced Elemental Arrows (besides SSBows Plasma) and lack of coil slits sets back alll the other options for elemental application, especially for higher difficulty, where the elemental treshholds are a lot higher.
Glad you found those tips helpful! And yeah my stance definitely shifted lol. As Paris said, we’re always figuring out new ways to leverage different mechanics in the game, so playstyles evolve. That being said, I honestly use my Sun Scourge almost all the time for elemental build up, and I’m not sure I’d use a warrior bow even if I didn’t have it. Something like the Seeker Hunter Bow would probably still be my preferred option. But I wanted to show warrior bows can be used for elemental buildup if it makes sense for your playstyle.

Quick question: Regarding the 'Melee Follow-up' coils, is it "shoot with bow and increase melee damage", or "strike target in melee and increase bow damage"? Because I thought it was the second, which would synergize with the resonator skills.
Yup you're right, it's the second one. Hit with melee first, which then increases bow damage for a brief period afterwards.

Btw i dont know if u know or anyone else but theres a serious!!!! I mean hella crazy almost simular as zero dawn movement mechanic thats broken... it makes u faster and have more finess when traveling in no mount zones or when grinding but i love it for fights or to evade fights, its kinda like the slide cancel mechanic in cod... u wait till aloy gets that initial speed after sprinting for a sec even less depending if u got momentum going down hill or on a flat surface and u press square... then u wait 1 or 2 whole seconds even less depending on land/momentum/situation and then u click square again when ever u want to cancel the slide and then sqaure again to stand up and rinse n repeat with dodge rolls here and there over rocks and stuff and u got your self a pretty finess way of going about shit in this game... its honestly my favorite part. Of this game XD
Yup! This is a tactic speed runners use to shave off time. It's pretty fun!

I think it's definitely the most easiest weapon for everyone to use & also super cheap😎 If you equip 4 critical hit chance coils + 1 impact damage coil on either Carja's Bane or Rain of Sparks + Use Critical Boost Valor Surge, Freeze the enemy, and just spam the Warrior bow, machines will be dead in just a blink of an eye🔥🔥😌

Not specifically, but I do talk about that a bit in my advanced combat tips video and "are you ready for ultra hard" video. I keep my toolkit cleanup up so there's not so many things to scroll through when looking for potions.
You were a fool if you didn't like Warrior Bows before. They are amazing when utilized correctly & the ammo is DIRT cheap!
They also have fantastic damage when focusing your build on Critical Hits, since they fire so fast & get 2x damage when Critting. Inflicting Frost on the foe, activating the Crit Valor Surge & unleashing Spread Shots in rapid succession will decimate most any foe!
Yep Spread shot with frost is the way to go.

May I ask you about the boost from different valor surges and their impact on weapon techniques. So if the valor increases critical chance - this is only for regular shots but not weapon technique (like burst shot), but what about critical damage when you crit with weapon technique? does it still stay at x2 (e.g. in case of warrior bow but not x2 + 150%). And how this works for some special weapon techniques (like triple notch for hunter bows) does it mean that you also increase crit rate only by 15% since you charge 2nd or 3rd arrow or it will be actually 55% (in case of critical boost valor )

Good question! Yeah I’d say that’s about the right time. After finishing Seeds of the Past and going to Legacy’s Landfall your first time you’ll have basically the whole map open and you can wait to finish the last few quests. That’s a good time to go do a bunch of side content and level up your gear.
Is there an in-game explanation, or at least some head cannon, as to why elemental states don't stack? I'm hoping that they add this feature in part 3. Combo statuses would be neat. Sorry that this question isn't relevant to your video.
Good question. No in-game explanation that I know of. I think it's mostly just because they felt combinations would be too strong. I agree it would be really cool and fun to be able to combine them though!

Excellent video as always! But i disagree with the legendary warrior bow being the easiest to get, i have all the legendaries but that maybe i just can't race...any tips on beating the races please let us know
I know how you feel, hated it. Sadly i don´t know a way to cheese it.
Make sure you are always picking up a powerup or ammo as often as possible. The boost is great. Also, use the melee attack when you are next to someone to save ammo. Finally, when you are in first, always look back and shoot at mounts to keep people from catching up to you. Using the bow often is key. You won't win through racing skill alone.
Ah ok yeah I can see how that would be a problem. I would agree with all the tips Javan mentioned here. Especially making sure you pick stuff up at each gate. I like speed boosts a lot. And definitely make sure your always trying to hit other racers to slow them down. And remember you can dodge their attacks on you. Good luck!
