Well, I made my decision. Do you agree with it? Is her behavior mostly a great entertainment or is it annoying and disgraceful? Let’s discuss it in the comments! 👇

the best thing that happened during the sakkari match was sakkari saying that if we let anyone say anything in tennis then its not tennis anymore. really shows what values tennis holds and why ostapenko calling her opponents "fucking bitches" is just not okay and if she keeps getting away with this tennis stops being tennis. glad sakkari took the high road with that handshake

i remember some WTA player that recently said in a instagram question/answer session that a match is a match and its normal that you do everything for the win. for me ostapenko is maybe the most entertaining person, and thats one of the reasons im a fan of her. its really much more fun watching her rather than one of those players with a ice-cold-face who even cant smile or shout out "come on" after a good point. besides of that, ostapenko is also a nice person - for example at kasatkinas girlfriend videos shes often in and interviewed and she is humble, honest and polite.

@@geoffvalero3516 The video was about on court behaviour. Bouchard has never behaved badly on court and never argued with other players or the umpires unlike a number of others. She has always been respectful on court and there is no evidence otherwise. It is a myth that she is disrespectful in handshakes as everything you see at the end of matches is totally normal handshakes. It is tiresome that some tennis fans rag on certain players for no reason. Some fans are idiots. As far as the Fed Cup handshake incident that was off court and she made a bad error in judgement and has corrected herself but then again she was 20 years old at the time and barely out of high school. I fault Tennis Canada more for not giving good guidance. Many of these players are just kids. It is very difficult to play on the WTA and these people are under enormous pressure. Ostapenko on the other hand behaves very badly as the video analysis explains and repeatedly does the same obnoxious behavior.

She can be incredibly rude - but she doesn’t pretend to be something that she is not.
Her technique on the forehand, especially, is quite funky. Most technical coaches would never teach a forehand in that way. On the other hand, Ostapenko projects herself so well into the court and /onto the ball/, taking so much time away from her opponents ..... this effects excellent weight transference, which gives her such a heavy ball + the ability so hit winners before the opponent has recovered position.

But you also should consider the racism Serena faced and the cheating done by capriati and henin against her multiple times. And as for the US open judgement, multiple coaches give signals to their players on the tennis court openly but they never face the same consequences like Serena, an obvious example being, Tsitsipas. If you watched the recent Australian open women's final then rybakina's coach was talking to rybakina constantly for the whole match. So tennis should have more defined rules than just applying it when the umpire desires.

I think we should make players less ashamed and fearful of controversial behavior. That being said, almost hitting someone with a racket or faking injuries isn't very cool...

In my opinion, Ostapenko should complain less and take better care of his body. With each passing year, she gets saggier and fatter. Not that she has made her tennis worse, but if she takes care of herself, she will certainly reach better positions in the WTA ranking.

@@chipandchargeTV Yes. I remember the shove-ball-in-throat incident now. I think she apologized. But she can be as arrogant as she wants to be - a diva, a drama queen, or whatever - because she has got the credentials. She did not need to ‘give her opponents credit’ after losses as some people are saying that she should have because she genuinely felt that she was better. That behaviour is not arrogant when you have 23 grand slams in singles alone.
In any case, if she did, people would have said that she ‘didn’t really mean it’ anyways. One can write a book on the myriad of double-standards she has had to confront.

Never saw Arthur Ashe behave like Serena, but there are a handful of former tennis players that behaved worst than her. If the media "adored" Serena, that's because her talent was second to none. I'm quite certain that being a female tennis player with the most Slams in the Open Era can have a "tennis diva" manifestation. It's an earned privilege, and her legacy is better than ever.
