    Any more info around the sequence of steps to prevent bricking would be great. I noticed after succesfully flashing you disconnected the jumper, then turned off the ignition. What happens if you turn the key off first? Or leave the jumper in while trying to datalog?
    Good video though!

    • @OkiSubies
      @OkiSubies  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for the question!
      Bricking typically only happens when interrupting the flash process or when you are pulling the rom. I have pulled ROM and uploaded probably thousands of times and never have actually bricked an ECU. The sequence of events will not brick it.
      I was actually disconnecting the green connectors and not the jumper. The jumper you can leave in or take out and doesn’t effect anything. COBB access port setups usually keep them in also.
      If you leave the green connectors in the check engine light will keep flashing at you so you just need to make sure it is unplugged before you start the car.

      @@KINGCOGMX That would be an interesting one! We usually trouble shoot by replacing individual parts but typically do not fix them. Would need to do some research for that!

    Is it better than Cobb tune? or same with no mods?

    • @OkiSubies
      @OkiSubies  Год назад +1

      That is a great question! Cobb is great because you can also monitor some of the parameters like knock using the access port as a gauge. Unfortunately we never got the Cobb access ports here in Japan so we don’t have much experience with them but at the end of the day, both methods are re-flashing the oem ECU so it is hard to say one is better than the other but I think it is safe to say Cobb is probably more user friendly.

      @@OkiSubies Out of interest how much power did it finally make?

    • @OkiSubies
      @OkiSubies  Год назад

      We kept it at 21psi but unfortunately we don’t have a dyno on island so we don’t know for sure😢
      Now that he is on the mainland he will have dyno’s available so we will post up the result if he finds one.
