  • Do not overtorque your aftermarket camber bolts!
    Make sure to keep the bolt head from spinning as you torque the nuts down!
    A cheap and non-invasive method to achieving 1-2° of additional camber in order to finetune fitment.

    After tons of videos of guys not knowing what they’re doing I just wanna say thanks for explaining this in a way that make perfect sense. I had tried to installed them today but gave up and reinstalled my stock OEM bolts because I could get them to match on Both sides. I had a feeling that washer tab was throwing them off because they were not seated in the same position. Thanks a million bud.

    This video really help me understand how the knuckle and the camber bolts are suppose to work. My OEM bolts were completely ceased right in but with liquid wrench and some patience after 2 hours per caster I finally worked it out. My OEM are just regular bolts and my knuckle was completely ceased too. So I need to work on clearing out my rust on the knuckle and get some movement like in your video. Your video also answered about question about both bolts being after market (If needs be). Thanks for making this video!

      I'm actually not sure how they measure and label these aftermarket ones. Gonna see if I can find anything. Because the lobe essentially stays the same diameter but the actual bolt portion has to go down in diameter from the original to give it that extra wiggle room.

    ❓ Great explanation. I'm thinking of performing ^this operation on a 2008 Hyundai Elantra, while also replacing the rear wheel hubs/bearings. I've never done either of these things, but I'm mechanically inclined. The hubs are the primary repair, and I hadn't considered a need for a rear camber adjustment until I noticed that the top of both wheels/tires are angled inward, while the bottom of the tires are angled outward(negative camber, I believe).
    I've read that the factory specs call for -1.5° for rear wheel camber. My main question is, can the rear wheel hub replacement and camber bolt installation be somewhat easily accomplished by a "mechanically inclined noob"? Can ^these camber adjustment bolts be used on a 2008 Hyundai Elantra? Thanks

    • @Alexhaav

      If you’re referring to maximum camber, it will always be top facing in and bottom facing out. For trucks, they usually use double wishbone suspension in the front, so these concepts will not work unless you have a MacPherson system.

      They can be very finicky to get out. I usually support the bottom of the knuckle with a jack and wiggle it around and twist it until it finds its way out. I have seen people install them wrong as well where they ruin/distort the hole in the bottom mount to the point where I’ve had to cut them out before. They are relatively cheap, so cutting may be best.

      You could, but you should probably assess what's causing the shaking/vibration first lol. Try running hub centric rings if you aren't already. @Alexhaav  3 года назад +1

      I have never personally tried this combo, but I feel it would give you around -5 or so. I think you would need a combo of 2 bolts per side to get -6 but that's just a guess. Only one way to find out! Remember the ride height will also affect the camber so the lower it is, the more natural camber there is.

      @@Alexhaav thanks for the advice. Do Broadway static top hats have more - camber adjustment? I wasted so much money switching from regular bcs to the extreme lows to only get maybe 3/4” lower when I could’ve gotten shorter springs and lcas for the same price :/.

    Hey man would running these in the bottom help save my cv drive axle ?? Because the angle of the lca is so far up the axle is compressed with full preload only at -3 I've slotted my lower mount upper hole and running a camber bolt aswell aswell as slotted my top camber plates more. I was thinking slot the top hole more and run the camber bolt in the bottom and stock bolt in the top?

      @@jaker3246 I would definitely extend the LCA. That is going to be your best option as the bolts won’t do much for alleviating bind.

    How much degrees is the maximum?

    • @Alexhaav
      @Alexhaav  3 года назад +1

      It will depend on ride height and other variables, but it is usually as advertised as 1.75° for one, so 2 together can warrant somewhere around 3 to 3.5°
