Srsly Lagiacrus is one of the best monsters ever. I mean he is the true apex predator of the ocean. The only threats to him (besides other Lagiacrus) are Nakarkos and Dire Miralis. And an abyssal Lagiacrus is quite capable of defeating a Nakarkos so the only threat to Abyssal is litterally one of the three strongest monsters in Monster Hunter history. THAT'S how you know he's OP.
Man this monster was the highlight of the game such an epic introduction. I wish it was in more games but I understood its a beast to programe. I think that's what made it so awesome
To me, any game that can incorporate Mizutsune is graphically capable of bringing Lagiacrus back. There’s no underwater combat so technically Ivory Lagiacrus could make a return since that’s the variant that prefers to stay on land and it’s stronger so it could be a MR hunt for Rise: Sunbreak.
The issue wasn't not being able to handle him it was the fact he was too long. In World's case at least his body would likely clip and spaz around too much on all the ledges and stuff in the game. The other reason is of course Lagi without water is just neutered.

Mizu got his own skeleton in X which only he had until the new leviathans in Rise. The trick for them is that they have very little contact points with the ground and in Ludroth's case a short body frame. Meanwhile Lagiacrus and Agnaktor have the same heavyset body Royal Ludroth has while being twice the size of our spongy friend. A lot of contact with the ground with the way the engine worked in World would have bent both up and thensome. Glavenus showed that size wasn't the issue in the end.
Fun fact : The pic of the lagiacrus in water was my wallpaper for a long time when I was in middle school. And sometimes I think back of MH3 and i'm nostalgic. Those really were the days.
