Monster Hunter 4's Elder Dragon cast was extremely creative and very fun to fight. Especially ones like Dalamander and Dah'ren Mohran whose fight revolved heavily around their arena. The way they handled such large monsters was impressive for a 3DS game.
I miss monsters like this I really do. Fatalis might have been cool to newbies but he's nothing compared to the sweeping laser beam of death that tests your spacial awareness and superman skills.
This is definitely an absurdly ambitious idea, but hear me out. They bring Dalamadur back, but instead of the arena barely bigger than him we got originally, we get some collective of mountains to fight him on and you chase him around through the fight as he goes from mountain to mountain, and for the final phase you end up in a similarly sized arena. I imagine the map at the start of the fight would be about half or one third the size of the whole Shrine Ruins area or 4-6 times the size of the original Speartip Crag.
You fight it on a large map while it slowly coils reducing the map piece by piece until you and your party are fighting it on a very small space. Either you kill it fast or it eats the last piece of the mountain and thus failing your quest.

Dalamadur is my absolute favorite monster in the entire game series for so many reasons. a few of them being that i absolutely love snakes and Dalamadur is highly snake-like, and the idea of a snake with small, lizard like legs seems so damn cool to me, and oh Dalamadur just happens to have those. i also really love the spiky appearance and the sheer size. its massive, yet so agile.
