    My favorite iceskater of all times.
    From her Russian family she inherited both ballet and gymnastics and it shows.
    Both a ballerina on ice and gymnast.
    Great personality, so likeable as well.
    Great taste, using classical music, designs her beautiful costumes.
    Born artist, only her nerves betray her...

    This was worthy of being her first win at Nationals against Kwan. But she was under marked AS USUAL. Even Dick Button said as much. Her performance here was glorious!

      She definitely had her chances but you have to be perfect to beat Kwan.

    I feel as if Sasha is ALWAYS undermarked. The quality of all the other jumps were spot on and one mistake does not merit a 5.4!! It's ridiculous. She is beautiful on the ice and is nearly technically perfect. Those lines, feet and flexibility are superior to other figure skaters to this day.

    Beautiful skater..such artistry.. but, she "flutzed" both of her lutz jumps..she switched to inside edge at the last moment..

      @evanperilstein5308 5 лет назад +3

      Ron Bowman I’m guessing you’re relatively new to skating. Almost all of the female skaters flutzed back then because the judges kind of ignored it. It wasn’t really punished like it is now.

    She **so so so ** deserved the Gold. She had the misfortune of skating in a time when there was blatant and downright corrupt 'holding up and favoring' that other skater. She was also robbed big time in the 2002 Olympics, she flat out earned the bronze but that other skater was once again held up and to this day boasts and brags about being a two time Olympic medalist.

      Lol I disagree. I wouldn't have put her ahead of Kwan in this performance or in the 2002 Olympic Games. Though I do agree that she was a bit underscored here

    • @sandyvale1038
      @sandyvale1038 7 лет назад +2

      I am utterly shocked and pleasantly surprised at a receiving a civil comment from a Kwan fan. Sasha was always underscored, and her artistry was beyond beautiful. My thought on 2002 was that even the commentators from Britain thought that Kwan was handed the short, and then she made two or more mistakes in the long. Sasha fell, but it was on something that Kwan would never so much as even attempted, and her program was so much more interesting and beautiful than Kwan's. Sasha also choreographed some of her own programs, and Kwan, while ditching Frank and Lori felt free to use one of Lori's and a repeat at that. In any case, I expected to be attacked and called vile names so you're cool by me, and differing opinions expressed in that manner are adding to the integrity of sports. I think.

      How rude and unnecessary. The video isn't even about her. You're on every skating video critiquing like you're Dick Button. Were you a judge or competitor?
