I noticed that someone asked about their husbands using it. My husband is a sweater! He always had to buy the clinical strength deodorant and even had to take it to work for re-application during the day. He now uses this recipe deodorant and only uses once a day no matter how hot he gets. He swears by it. He also had the idea of putting it on the bottom of his feet. They stay dry all day and no smelly shoes! I love this recipe. It is awesome!
Roxy Imler Wow! Thank you so much for sharing your husband's experience with this deodorant. :)
Thanks for getting straight to the point.
I came over here because your sister mentioned & I was curious. That being said, I LOVE this channel! So many cool diy videos... I'm gonna have a lot to look at this weekend!!

Super presentation. I have made it right away.
As Essential Oil, I used Lemongrass. Fantastic Fragrance.

+rmdatt Thank you! :)
Thanks for this recipe. I use Lemon Eucalyptus. If you cut back on the baking soda, then it
does not work. Your recipe has the right amount. I will never go back to the store bought stuff.
Excellent Job.............Thanks So Much For Ur Share !!
Thank you!

i now add patchouli n lavender to your recipe and i am loving it even more now ty again n have a great weekend !!!
Thank you for the video. Do you have a version with a different oil? Some people can't use coconut oil.
Hi thank you so much
This deodorant does not stain your clothes. I've had no issues with that at all. :)
Unfortunately, I have experienced oily stains on the pit of my blouses. Any tips on combatting that issue?
Suziebeee Thanks for your question! I would try increasing the baking soda and cornstarch a small amount and see if that helps.
***** Thank you for mentioning this! :) I have arrowroot powder and will try that next time.
Now since tapioca starch can be replace with the arrow root, can I use tapioca starch instead?
lienpni1 Thanks for your question! I honestly don't know if you can replace tapioca starch with arrowroot powder in DIY recipes, because I've never used tapioca starch. However, this deodorant recipe calls for cornstarch and I can tell you that it works great. :)
okey !! thanks..!!! its kinda difficult to find coconut oil here in greece but i fould at last !! yeaheyyyy!!
i get all my essential oils at ebay;super cheap! this is a great video-i love all natural products
Thank you angela thanasiu! I've never thought about buying them off ebay, but I will look into it. Thanks for mentioning it here! :)
The Sensible Mom your welcome :) i order mine on ebay through china it may take some time to arrive but the price for bulk size is amazing &a money saver :)
Baking soda can make the skin red and sore. It is not needed. The coconut oil is the ingredient that kills the bacteria and makes the deodorant work. Just mix Coconut oil and arrowroot powder, two ingredients, vary ratio to preferred thickness.
In deed great recipe ever. But how do you remove baking soda recipe after applying? Will appreciate your response.
thank you! :)
Does this work well as far as controlling oder? Thank you for sharing this recipe! :o)
made it, tried it, love it, thank you...( I was suffering from clogged pores because of the aluminum in the commercial deodorant)
The 'burning' happens because the pH level of the skin is acidic while the baking soda is alkaline. Try mixing 1 part raw apple cider vinegar with 5 parts distilled water in a small spritz bottle and applying that to the armpits and allowing to air dry before applying the deodorant. This will balance the pH of your skin and prevent any burning or discoloration.
this recipe is an armpit saver
this video is great!!!!!!
Where do you store it? Does it last 3 months on shelf or fridge? :)
Hi SM, i am just wondering in case coconut oil is not available can use olive oil ? i mean can i put olive oil instead of coconut oil and mix it with baking soda and corn prouder.
does this help in whitening? :) thanks alot for this video btw! ~
Do you have To use the coconut oil? If so, what could I use to substitute it?
Hey! My question is, does it like break apart because sometimes deodarants would break and fall and crumble!
I made my own deodorant and added a little extra beeswax for a more solid stick. When I tried it out, there wasn't much slip to it. What would you suggest I add to give it more glide? Thanks!
Should I store it in the fridge or can I just put it away where I keep all my beauty stuff?
Hello!! could i use something else except coconut oil?? e.g. olive oil???
great video
Thank you!
Can you also use that with coconut oil? Like how I have in my page? Nice
In the summer won't the melting coconut oil be visible and stain your clothes?
Thanks
Thanks for watching! :)
Does it still work if the coconut oil becomes a liquid due to hot weather?
Any substitute for corn starch please ?
Hi !! my question what is the benefit of adding cornstarch? is their an alternative from using cornstarch? besides arrowroot powder??
Thanks for your question Samantha. I don't know of any alternative to cornstarch in the deodorant other than arrowroot powder. If you want to find a homemade deodorant that doesn't use either ingredient, you could try this one where the arrowroot powder is optional: wellnessmama.com/1523/how-to-make-natural-deodorant/
Hi.. Can i put some lemon juice??
No, it definitely does not leave white clumps. :)
Hi.. Can i use virgin coconut oil?
Can u use baby powder instead of corn study.
Can we substitute baking soda with baking powder ??
I notice you don't use Aluminum free baking soda. Is there a reason why?
You're welcome! I hope you enjoy this homemade deodorant. :)
Hello and thanks for watching my video! :) The homemade deodorant does work well for controlling odor, although you may have it apply it twice in the summer months.
nice video. Now I have a question, can I use tapioca starch if I don't have corn starch?
lienpni1 Thanks for your question! :) I'm honestly not sure because I've yet to use tapioca starch in my DIY recipes. Maybe someone else here can help? Anyone?
Thanks again for visiting my channel! I hope you have a great week!
I mad it like you cas you in spard me.thank u
does this leave white clumps under your arms?
Love it best deodorant I've ever tried
Thanks for trying out the recipe and sharing your thoughts! :)
+The Sensible Mom do u need coconut oil
Is the oil a big problem for your clothes?
does vanilla extract work?
That's fantastic! I hope you enjoy this deodorant.
here in Sri lanka coconut oil stays in liquid form. so will it settle after mixing.
Here in FNQLD it stays liquid year round as well lol! Whenever I see it in solid form I'm like DAM ITS COLD THERE
Does this work for men too? How well does it neutralize bad odors from armpits? Thanks.
Hi ramir332 What I can say is that this deodorant works for my husband. He doesn't particularly sweat a lot, though. You could give it a try and see if it works for you. Thanks for your comment!
it should work perfectly..I think not sure tho..that woman perspire more
Hi there! Unfortunately, olive oil won't work well to make this deodorant because of its consistency. :(
Great video. Why home made deodrant makes your arm pit turn black thanks.
omg! you look just like your sister
Hi! Well, I don't know that this would help with teeth whitening. I've never tried it. :)
can i use vanilla extract or peppermint extract
Hello! :) I've never tried using either vanilla or peppermint extract in my homemade products, so I wouldn't be a good source of information there. If you've got peppermint essential oil, though, that would definitely work. You could also skip the essential oil part because it's technically not necessary. Thanks so much for watching!
Is it safe on children ages 8-10?
Shana Smith Yes, it is. :) I feel completely comfortable with my own kids using this deodorant.
The Sensible Mom Great 😊 thanks
if anyone has a reaction to the deodorant, try arrowroot powder.
+I4gotmeat 4real in place of...??
+RedStingBlogs in place of the baking soda. the pH is lower
cool thanks!
I had also made this deodorant before with baking soda, coconut oil and tea tree oil but as we live in India where coconut oil is always in liquid form so it's also become liquid and second problem is that coconut oil further darken my armpits so could you suggest something that also helps in lightning of armpits.
+Mamta Samant You could try lemon (diluted probably), or I've heard potatoes work...a bit strange but you could research a bit.
I have made this also and it made my armpits dark. I found out I was having a reaction to the baking soda so I started to use arrowroot powder and my armpits went back to normal.
I4gotmeat 4real I'm going to try arrowroot powder, thank you! I'm allergic to baking soda too. They get red and itchy :/
+PlantBasedPaintress No problem, hope arrowroot powder helps
Mamta Samant lemon lightens the skin. many people put lemon on their armpits
Cornflavour and coconut oil only deodrant
Can you put this into a deodorant container? Will it harder once settled? Please let me know as I would love to make this. Thanks
I cringed when I saw she was using baking soda. Folks have got to find another option. That stuff peels my skin and discolors my armpit. I like Granny's Natural Deodorant. It's good stuff.
Try using arrowroot powder. It's natural and non-GMO (unlike corn starch).
ASHURE its because you goes are using to much of the baking soda. you suppose to use half or less than the amount of cornstarch/arrowroot powder
you need to check the pH of the final product cos there concerns with the proportion of the baking soda
do you need coconut oil
+Ashley Ramos For this recipe, you do need coconut oil. I haven't tried making a homemade deodorant without coconut oil, but there may be other recipes online that don't require it. You might want to check Pinterest for those. :) Thanks for stopping by and watching my video. I appreciate it!
