    I noticed that someone asked about their husbands using it. My husband is a sweater! He always had to buy the clinical strength deodorant and even had to take it to work for re-application during the day. He now uses this recipe deodorant and only uses once a day no matter how hot he gets. He swears by it. He also had the idea of putting it on the bottom of his feet. They stay dry all day and no smelly shoes! I love this recipe. It is awesome!

      lienpni1 Thanks for your question! I honestly don't know if you can replace tapioca starch with arrowroot powder in DIY recipes, because I've never used tapioca starch. However, this deodorant recipe calls for cornstarch and I can tell you that it works great. :)

    Baking soda can make the skin red and sore. It is not needed. The coconut oil is the ingredient that kills the bacteria and makes the deodorant work. Just mix Coconut oil and arrowroot powder, two ingredients, vary ratio to preferred thickness.

    • @GoldVixen
      @GoldVixen 7 лет назад +1

      The 'burning' happens because the pH level of the skin is acidic while the baking soda is alkaline. Try mixing 1 part raw apple cider vinegar with 5 parts distilled water in a small spritz bottle and applying that to the armpits and allowing to air dry before applying the deodorant. This will balance the pH of your skin and prevent any burning or discoloration.

    • @classylifeboutique
      @classylifeboutique  10 лет назад

      Thanks for your question Samantha. I don't know of any alternative to cornstarch in the deodorant other than arrowroot powder. If you want to find a homemade deodorant that doesn't use either ingredient, you could try this one where the arrowroot powder is optional: wellnessmama.com/1523/how-to-make-natural-deodorant/

      Hello! :) I've never tried using either vanilla or peppermint extract in my homemade products, so I wouldn't be a good source of information there. If you've got peppermint essential oil, though, that would definitely work. You could also skip the essential oil part because it's technically not necessary. Thanks so much for watching!

    I had also made this deodorant before with baking soda, coconut oil and tea tree oil but as we live in India where coconut oil is always in liquid form so it's also become liquid and second problem is that coconut oil further darken my armpits so could you suggest something that also helps in lightning of armpits.
