    I just used this recipe recently and so far I love it. I'm finding that after a hard work day I'm actually dryer and less smelly then I was with my regular clinical strength deodorant

  • @d2row96
    @d2row96 7 лет назад +14

    folks, you can start out very simply with 1/3 of coconut oil, baking soda, arrow root powder. Adjust with other ingredients to your liking. Lessen the baking soda to an amount that's suitable for you.

    Thank you so much for this tutorial. This is the best recipe ever and it actually works. I found only 1 other recipe that works but it's stored in a jar and you have to dip your fingers in it and shear it in. Plus when it was cold it was rock hard and when it was hot it had to be mixed because it separated. But not this one. Thank you so very much

    Cool.Im trying it now but on a side not you're not supposed to use metal when you're using any type of natural clay because it cancels out the properties of it.

    • @empresslioness9964
      @empresslioness9964 4 года назад

      Yes good point. The clay will pulls the metal from the pot which defeats the purpose of making an aluminum free deodorant. Only use all plastic and I forgot the other thing but definitely not metal

    Thanks for this recipe! i tried it out and it actually works for keeping BO down all day. It also doesn't irritate my sensitive skin. We didn't have bentonite clay, so I used french green clay. Since I used french green clay as a substitute, it turned out quit green.

    Careful using metal utencil with bentonite clay, i hear it deactivates the properties of the clay :) ...great recipe though! Thanks.

    • @katherineflores3117
      @katherineflores3117 3 года назад +1

      Hey :)
      When you used the fork to mix in the dry ingredients, metal can deactivate the properties of the bentonite clay. Making the benefits that the clay provides to the deodorant useless.

    Thank you for recipe. Baking soda will NOT work for sensitive skin. It burned me really badly. It is good for cleaning, not for putting on the skin. Milk of Magnesia by itself is great as a deodorant, as is Zinc Oxide, so either one of them can be added to the recipe or just used by themselves as a sensitive skin friendly deodorant.

      feltingme If the amount is very high,it will burn your skin. Just add only a teaspoon of baking soda,I promise you it will work and not burn your skin. I made deodorant for people and I learned how sensitive skin works. If you notice the recipe is clogging your pores,just add only 4 tablespoons of coconut oil instead of beeswax,shea butter etc. my recipe is 4 T spoons of coconut oil,3 of corn starch and only 1 teaspoon of baking soda. 4-5 drops of essential oil and your good to go.

    • @feltingme

Lume deodorant, they have a youtube site too. all natural, no aluminum and no baking soda. and they have some kind of bunny award for not hurting animals. they list their ingredients and it was developed by a doctor, not a big company. less messy to order online too. it lasts two days for me and i am a stinky guy living in Texas

    I tried reading down through all the comments just to see if my question had been covered already but I did not see it. I was wondering HOW MUCH DOES THIS ONE BATCH MAKE? I am making different scented ones for me, my husband and my kids so I have to make different ones each time. the containers are 3.25oz and 2.6oz. Thank you for this video too. I received a sample from a local lady and fell in love with it instantly but she wanted $10.00 for a small container so I tried looking up how to make it and all I could find was ones that did not include all the ingredients she used. Your video is the only one that included all the ingredients she used. except the bentonite clay. She used Kaolin clay instead. But they are the same family. Sorry for rambling. I put my question in caps so you would get the just of this comment. Thank you so much!!!!!!!

    I would not use betonite clay. The reason it is so absorbent it is aluminum formed from volcanic ash and it is either sodium, calcium or phosphate. It is used in kitty litter and has been known to be harmful to animals and humans.

    • @helpfulnatural
      @helpfulnatural 10 лет назад +9

      There are several brands of bentonite clay that are perfectly safe for both humans & animals. They are: Redmond Clay, Living Clay, Earth's Living Clay, etc... These 3 brands can be used safely, both internally & externally. The type of clay used for kitty litter is completely different.

      MYTH: Aluminum in Clay is dangerous.
      FALSE. Aluminum is part of the structural make up of all clays. The aluminum in Calcium Bentonite Clay is in a safe oxide form, not the dangerous man-made processed aluminum. The many trace minerals in Calcium Bentonite Clay are fused together into a super compound structure known as a clay particle, which cannot break down and cannot be absorbed by your body.
      I got it from here www.aboutclay.com/info/Articles/erroneous%20beliefs.htm
      I don't make any of this stuff. But I looked it up for you. :-) Have a good day.

      Marina Allard I've had some success with bentonite clay, specifically Redmond Clay which I use for all sorts of things. I'm also reintroducing a tiny amount of baking soda back into my recipe and if any irritation occurs, I stop using it for as long as it takes for the redness to disappear and use a homemade liquid deodorant alternative which uses zinc oxide as the active ingredient to combat odor. The liquid version is nice but isn't as effective imo.

    hi there do you have any vegan alternatives for beezwax?

    • @rraceyllacey
      @rraceyllacey 8 лет назад +2

      Yep...Paraben. Its a pharmaceutical usually used instead of beeswax in personal hygiene products comercially . Its a terrible Xenoestrogen for your endocrine system too. Natural beeswax or Pharma Paraben are our choices !

      .....you do know what beeswax is right? I really hope you are trolling, because why would you need a "vegan alternative" fir beeswax?

      Lighter Gait I'm not even a vegan and even I know that u can use candallila wax to sub for beeswax.
      Sometimes I feel like people ask vegan subs just so they declare, one more time to random strangers, IM VEGAN!!

      I believe it should go through the holes. That's what will hold everything together.

      Try health food stores or buy it online...amazon has dozens of brands. Make sure it's virgin coconut oil as it is healthier than the refined oil.
