Gotta tell y'all, I was totally skeptical about this. Now that menopause has kicked in, my underarm "aroma" has become resistant to even the clinical strength deodorants :-( I really hate the use of chemicals in the store-bought products, and the natural deodorants on the market just do not work for me. Has anyone else tried the Milk of Magnesia method? My husband thought I was crazy for putting that on my pits, and was very blunt when he said it wasn't effective. So I tried mixing up a small batch using this recipe with some very minor tweaks, as I'm sensitive to the baking soda. I cannot believe this is working! I have a nice assortment of essential oils from making scented body sprays, so over the next few days will be experimenting with the different oils to get the perfect scent. Chloe and Zoe, thanks so much for the video!
I’ve just started using a variation of this deodorant, and it really is great! I made a small batch, not knowing if I would like it or not. I use equal parts of baking soda and cornstarch and enough coconut oil to make it the consistency I want. I used lemon essential oil because I love lemon fragrance!
Well, these last couple days have been very productive as far as video blogging goes! Tonight I recorded, edited & posted ANOTHER NEW VIDEO WITH MY SISTER that I think you are going to LOVE! REALLY! Stop right now & mark this video blog because you are going to WANT to remember how to make this super EASY & EFFECTIVE DEODORANT! My sister has been making this for years for her & her husband & says it works WAY better than any of the natural deodorants on the market! So if you are still using that chemical junk, it's time to turn a new leaf! You probably have everything you need to make this ALREADY in your kitchen! Please Share this link, AND SUBSCRIBE to my channel (shameless plug!) ENJOY!
Awesome - thank you very much for sharing! When you think about it HOW EASY it is to make your own deodorant... (and other cosmetic things), how cheap and most important HOW HEALTHY it is... it's crazy that so many people still buy toxic stuff from the shops... it's just the awareness and knowledge which is important to pass on. But that is happening everywhere, around the globe. Thank you Zoe! Raphaela
Den De Guzman Shea Butter is pretty thick & heavy, It might hold moisture into the pores more than coconut oil. , I think the benefit of virgin coconut oil is the anti microbial qualities that neutralize odors.
I will definitely be making myself a batch of this. The natural deodorant I buy from the store doesn't perform as well, and I'm in cold weather right now! Thanks Zoe and Chloe for the recipe. =)
for bad odor you need to make sure your meat intake is 10% or less than the rest of your daily food intake. so your food intake must be 90% plant based, and avoid dairy as much as possible. any animal food intake will cause your body to work extra hard to process it, as its not good for the body in amounts over 10% of your total daily intake. my friend is a vegan doesnt eat meat very little dairy either so she doesnt even need any deodorant!
Are you allergic to coconut oil? Virgin Coconut has a lot of anti microbial properties which are great for neutralizing smell. I have not tried it with olive oil though it could work.
Okay I guess I'm the only man to ask this, but is there something other then lavender oil to add? Maybe something in the manly scent please? Great video and I love Zo's tutorial skills, thanks Zo!!
I did this recipe. and the first week I used it. It work but then the baking soda gave me a rash.I also did other recipes without baking soda and that didn’t work either😩I really want to find a recipe that works
Often it’s the combo of shaving & sensation skin. Try waiting a few hours or more after shaving or even shaving less often if you’re comfortable with that. Also adjust your baking soda down & add lavender or other Essential oils.
Hello I love the way u made this video so simple to follow. However 🤔 when I try to put in in a old deodorant container it will not get solid. I even tried putting it in the refrigerator (it did) but when I took it out it became too loose again. Any suggestions. Please.
the deodorant, like many natural deodorants, may need to be reapplied once during the day if it's summertime. Otherwise, in winter, it's usually just once a day. You only need to use a very little amount.
to stop sweating; make sure your animal food intake (meat, eggs, dairy) is 10% or less of your total food daily intake. otherwise, your body has to work harder longer to process it. so go 90% plant based and this issue will reduce dramatically; also, avoid sugar, alcohol, drugs, cigarettes coffee etc as much as possible as they are all strong acids which make the body have to work much harder to process/expell them. and dont put too many clothing layers on, dress lightly.

Does it stain clothing? I'm concerned about the oil.

Raphaela Maria yes, it’s much easier to share life & non industrial solution with others via internet. ❤️
Can we use normal coconut oil or do we need to use only virgin coconut oil?
Does the coconut oil stain clothing?
No
Can I use arrowroot powder instead of cornstarch?
Christina Lewis yes that works too, can even use it in place of part of the baking soda also.
can i use shea butter instead of coconut oil

Does it completely dry into the skin? Does it stick to your clothes? Does it REALLY help with bad odor?

You can use beewax, it definitely makes it more solid.
more corn starch, less coconut oil. see if you find a ratio that gels right. thanks for your comment. blessings.
So how many time do you need to reapply?
Depends on how hot it is I guess. :)
Can you put this into a deodorant stick?
that would certainly be nice! i have not tried that yet.
I used flour instead of cornstarch is that ok..
Hai did yours work ? I want to try using corn flour
Not sure flour will work. Try Arrowroot
Great tutorial
I have cancer = skin + bone marrow . I dust my axillae with organic cornstarch .
Great tutorial ever
Nonna M thank you!
How long does it last

Corn starch or corn flour,I have just bought corn flour
Corn starch or Arrowroot
Thanks alot
Corn starch is Cornflour. Different country, different name. In the UK we call it cornflour.
👍👍💗
WHAT IS THE POINT HAVING THIS IF IT DOES NOT STICK? TO STOP SWEATING .
not really to prevent sweating, thats what aluminum does in deodorant, but to neutralize the bacteria that create the smell/ odor. :)

That looks like baking powder
snip it with triplets yes, just a tad not very much so it doesn’t irritate the skin. Otherwise a bit of arrowroot can work too.
I never want to smell again 😩
then become a vegan.
