    We are so gonna try this recipe! Been working on our own for awhile now and haven't hit on the perfect one yet. I have trouble with the baking soda as well. Thanks for sharing.

    The clay is also good to mix with water or apple cider vinegar for a face mask and hair mask

    Thank you so much for the recipe! I've tried the straight baking soda and it did not work for us. Which means we gave up and went back to commercial deodorants. I can't wait to try this method!

    I switched to a mineral salt stick many years ago, but I think this recipe sounds like a great alternative. You never know when certain things will be hard to come by.

    If you put your deodorant in a jar. Instead of using just your fingers to apply it. You could use a cotton round made for taking off make-up. I use them for applying salves and lotions that are kind of messy. Works great.

    Thanks for the "recipe" I switched to natural mineral salt deodorant years ago. I keep most of those ingredients so I will be glad to save money and make it at home.

    Hey Andrea, great video. As far as the bentonite clay, won't it deactivate if you use anything metal in making it? And what a cute baby!! Does this mean I can get milk soon? :)

      kiralotus13 I read the metal spoon thing is a myth as clay is mined with metal equipment and tun through metal screens etc., but a plastic spoon could be used just to be safe. I really don't know.
      I have you on my waiting list but it isn't budging at the moment. It may be awhile🙁 Thanks for watching.

    Thea prefers hers without essential oil scents. I do mine with Teatree, Bergamot, and Frankensence, smells wonderful!

      I do 30 drops in the recipe, which makes 3 deodorants. I’ve done a video, it will go up tomorrow

    YL is not the only one that is seed to seal..( I love YL) Revive is another great company. Some folks that use to work for YL have moved on to start their own company. No Distributor costs= much cheaper but same quality. I use both.

    I was thinking about the time you got the funnel, get your funnel girl. Lol. I might try that. We all are sensitive to deodorant. Good looking calf. That's my next step is AI ing.     Andrea do you use soda that is aluminum free ? I only discovered a few years ago there was aluminum in baking soda so now i by mine from the health food store...Young Living has a plant up here in the northeast corner of BC they harvest and process black spruce

      I think I ordered them from cultures for health. I'm not sure they still carry them though. I have seen them in health food stores too. Some people wash out empty ones from the store also.

    I should try this, I switched to a brand that is supposed to be all natural, but is expensive. Do u have an idea about how much it costs to make one deodorant? Thanks for the recipe. Fun to see the momma cow and her baby, we used to milk cows, miss that part if it. How many cows do u milk?

      Vivian Pavek I don't have the cost breakdown. It will depend what quality the ingredients are.

      Mine come in under a dollar each, once you have the containers, which can be used over and over. All depends on ingredients, if your buying in bulk, if you have bees, and so on. Even buying in small quantities, I can’t see it being as much as 2 bucks a stick...

    when I made my homemade deodorant with tea tree and baking soda, I used also coconut oil and I think lavender oil { not your recipe}. after using it for a while I got a rash. don't know what in it I was allergic to. maybe tea tree, maybe baking soda. haven't try another homemade one since. maybe i'll try yours & see. just saying.
