2 oz beeswax
6 oz coconut oil
3 tsp zinc oxide
6 tsp bentonite clay
essential oils
Melt beeswax and coconut oil in a double boiler.
Add zinc oxide and bentonite clay. Blend well using a stick blender (two minutes minimum)
Cool down for 20 minutes.
Blend again, stir in essential oils and pour into containers. Deodorant is ready when cooled. Store at room temperature.
Benefits: soothes irritated skin, fights body odor. Is not an anti-antiperspirant. Хобби
side note: never use metal to stir bentonite clay. it'll weaken it..
thanks for the video though. been looking for the perfect recipe and I found it!👍
EXCELLENT! Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for a recipe with the zinc oxide in it, because for the paste deodorants, I found it's the only one that really works well.
wanted to give you a heads up on the clay..its such an awesome clay, it actually binds with heavy metals which can and will help in other health areas..anyway, point is its never good to use any metal with the clay because it will pull the metals into itself, also it will bind itself to metals.. so a wooden ceramic or even plastic spoon is much safer : )
*****
What type of machine are you using to measure? Thanks :)
Robin Pollard c
Robin Pollard , isn't zinc oxide an oxidized metal?
Hi Renee. I've used my Kitchenaid immersion blender before and it cooled the deodorant mix almost immediately. I'm going to try one of those small hand held milk frothers instead. Love the video and that scale is so cool!
Great info. Thanks for sharing ❤
Renee I am excited to try this I have gone thru a few. I have one with probiotics I it now. Nice , but I love the clay great job
Hi Renee! I'm so excited to find this video recipe as I live in southern California and this heat wave is leaving my deodorant in a constant liquid state! LOL My question is can I use green clay instead of bentonite? Its just what I happen to have on hand at the moment.
Love it!!!🤗🤗🤗thanks 😚
I'm curious. I have not tried this but I know that bentonite clay does not absorb into your skin, nor does zinc oxide, or bees wax. So do these just build up under your arm and you wash off during your next shower?
I love your recipe but these are all natural ingredients and are healthy for the body as a whole...just learning and want to make sure...zinc oxide and bentonite clay...haven't heard of before...thanks
Zinc oxide is naturally occurring. You couple also use Zinc Ricinoleate which is approved from caster oil.
Yes!!!! Natural deodorant is amazing I just posted a video on how to make a diy deodorant and how it saved my pits, my underarms are so fresh and healthy now🌿♻️🙌🏽 - 6 months using only diy natural deodorant I love it
Thanks Renee I have a question on the zinc. I know there were lots of questions on the zinc being nano etc.. What is you input?
Bentonite clay can leech out metals. It would be advisable to mix with a plastic mixer, or whisk.
I have been watching your videos of how to make your own natural deodorant because they gave that to me as a project so I have been watching videos of how to make your own deodorant
I really want to try this and have had the same problem when I have made my own.. I hate "lotion feeling!" What are your measurements? I'm making this ASAP! ;) thank you so much! This clay is amazing as you stated.. Lip stick can be made with it too!!
my recipe is coconut oil, baking soda, arrow root powder and lime essential oil mmmm smells like coconut lime :)
Beach Life mine too! I love it and it's so easy to make! Peace
Mine too but I toss in sage oil.
how many drops of each essential oil? im wanting to do lemon, clove, and tea tree
its probably right under my nose but I don't see how much of each EO you put in.
Hi Renee the deodorant worked great! I'm out now and have to have make more.
I would think that a white kaolin clay would be better with staining.
a few questions here
could i swap coconut oil with grapeseed/extra virgin olive oil/sweet almond oil or avocado oil?
I've been making mine with beeswax arrowroot powder, bentonite clay, sometimes activated charcoal adding in vitamin e oil, rosehip oil, and my essential oils when the mix is off of the heat
is that suitable for deodorant? =(
Hi Renee,
How many drops of essential oil did you use?
Are the teaspoon measurements heaping or leveled off?
Does the clay stain your clothes? Is the zinc only for irritation or does it help with sweat or smell?
I love the recipe and would like to know where you got the scale?
What were the measurements for the clay and zinc oxide? Isn't zinc oxide an oxidized metal? Also what were the measurements for the essential oils?
What quantities were used? I would like to start with a base then adjust as needed.
HI!
Does your deodorant leave a residue under the arm? Thanks!
Is beeswax sold in powder and where would I find it? As well as the zinc.
? hi Renee i don't have bentonite clay in my area so what can i use instead
I read on some Bentonite Clay that it had traces of lead in it. Is that safe, then?
I didnt hear measurements. Is there a book I need to buy to get them please?
Do you happen to have a recipe for contact solution? I have been looking for a recipe but can't find any info...
Hi! I wanna go shopping for the ingredients, BUT the zinc, is it powder or cream ?
Can you add baking soda for added odor protection?
If you have any direct web links or pictures or the stuff you used it'll be helpful. Thx
I made my own deodorant and added a little extra beeswax for a more solid stick. When I tried it out, there wasn't much slip to it. What would you suggest I add to give it more glide? Thanks!
Good Day Mate a little more oil. and try some slip powders:)
u can use shea butter.. thats the secret to make it slip
Hi Renee - nice deo recipe and explanation. Would you please let me know the portions of the 5 ingredients? thx steve
my wife adds powderised pink himalayan salt, yellow beeswax, Organic Coconut, Shea / Cocoa Butter, Ecosoya CB135 Soy Wax, Bi-Carb Soda, Kaolin Clay, Lavender, Powderised Oats (instead of cornstarch)

Scents I used for 2 lots were Bubblegum and Very Vanilla & got a excellent review from it
Made a batch...but had to switch out the zinc oxide with something else...wish me luck 🤗
Where did you get the scale from?
I tried this recipe and it doesn't hold me. I've since stumbled upon Granny's Natural Deodorant. It's sold online. It is super creamy and doesn't break me out. It also smells great. I think a family out of Texas makes it. It's the best.
Does it stain the clothes
I made a deodorant using coconut oil, arrowroot powder, bees wax vitamin e and peppermint oil but it stains my clothes
Where do you get these products? And what os this recipe.
Zinc oxide, like most powders, can be a health risk if inhaled, but this is not a concern with cream and lotion-based sunscreens. Additionally, zinc oxide can be photo-reactive, meaning that UV exposure can generate reactive oxygen species, or free radicals, which can damage living cells.
Anna D wearing it under your armpits limits UV exposure to almost zero if that us your concern. In addition zinc office is used as a sunscreen, check with a real dermatologist and cite your sources.
Bentonite Clay have too much Metals in them. Use Corn Starch instead.
@@darlenecuker9711 - Zinc Oxide = Known to damaging cells if you get into your body. You can use it, just don't breathe it.
Where do you purchase zinc oxide? I enjoyed your video, thank You.
Amazon

Bentonite Clay have too much Metals in them. Use Corn Starch instead.
Where did you get your containers..?🙂

Wendy C. I figured it out! My DE and CLAY were mislabeled in their containers LOL Sooo I just made this batch with DE instead of clay - oops! round 2! (wish I could figure out what I could make with the failed batch LOL)
all great except the zinc oxide, thanks for the tutorial!
What’s wrong with zinc?
Omit Zinc Oxide & Bentonite Clay have too much Metals in them. Use Corn Starch instead.

Hi Renee, I made this Deodorant but it didn't keep me from smelling? so I remelted the deodorant and added baking soda in it. not sure yet if its going to work.
***** I had this same issue happen to me. I've been using homemade deodorant for about 2 years and just recently, the baking soda started giving me an itchy, red irritation on my underarms. I swapped it out with zinc oxide & Redmond clay and so far so good! The clay alone didn't control odors as well but the combo seems to be working well. I love Redmond clay!! It's so versatile. It's great for bee stings & bug bites & I also take it internally as a liquid. Great for tummy issues or achy muscles.
Christina Mendoza I alwats need backing soda, if not I stink!!! He is a trick from people getting a rash from it... It's showing you you PH is off and your acid levels are too high. Drink more water! And double check to see if your diet is . a bit off... May too much sugar ect...
helpfulnatural if you get that red itchy skin issue with baking soda deodorant like i did then jetted a pit spray to use at night before bed. Mix in spray bottle 1 cup water, 1 tbs apple cider vinegar, 10 drops tea tree oil, and 10 drops lavender oil. Cleared mine up in a few days. Good luck
@@rachelrachel7378 if you smell then you are eating too much animal food; avoid or strongly curtail meat n dairy to no more than 5% of your diet. my vegan friend doesnt even need deodorant!! very telling...
@@helpfulnatural to control odors make sure your diet is mostly plant based; do not consume more than 5% of your diet as meat or dairy. thats why
you didn't say how much Redmond Clay
Would be great if you shared amounts of ingredients please....
Check the description box
How easily does this melt
Is this natural?
Good idea I'm tired of keep buying deodorant
whats a good alternative to coconut oil......... im allergic to it BAD
Fallyn Grady Shea butter, coco butter and other hard oil.
Hi can I use homemade coconut oil instead of the one we buy from stores??
Nope u can search it on youtube and see how it's done
Or if u want I can send u the link
I hope this works but I am not looking forward to doing it again. I had such a mess from the beeswax. The clean up was terrible. You need to let people know how to avoid the beeswax problem with containers used in the process. I didn't want to use hot water to melt the wax in the glass measuring cup and then dump the water down my drain because it would of clogged up my sink and God only knows what pipe problems I would of had to deal with. Any tips on how to avoid these problems if I use this recipe again would be appreciated.
Maybe you could use a dedicated container specifically for the deodorant recipe.
+Lisa Brown I've found that if you boil some water in your container that is covered in wax you can dump the water outside which will carry a lot of the wax and then immediately wipe out your container with a paper towel while the wax is still wet.
I've made 3 batches of deodorant and have never had a drain problem.
What the power name
where do I purchase these ingredients? can I get at Whole Foods.
Thank you Renee
People even use the empty glue tubes.
Can you make it without the zinc oxide?
Omit Zinc Oxide & Bentonite Clay have too much Metals in them. Use Corn Starch instead.
An easier way of filling is to buy round containers. Bigger opening.
how much does the vent night clay cost
+Alma Yamileth Pon Beltran It's 'Bentonite' clay, Alma : )
Where did you find the scale at?
Amazon, Walmart, Target
oh never mind I see it now.
where?
DE Clay is excellent added ingredient to.
You can add the only soy wax that’s been Dermatology Tested Safe for all Skin Types and Used in many Products Absorbed by the Skin
I love your recipe but I have a question : what kind of zinc oxide do you like ? I have read some crazy information about micro and non-nano .... I am clueless . I purchased one with zinc oxide , lead and cadmium . Do you know if it's safe ?
There is NO SAFE LEVEL OF LEAD for human consumption/interaction. Cadmium has no nutritional/pro-health value in humans.
Tutivillis Jessica Valadez and i believe cadmium is a cancer causer...?

Fact!
this didnt work for me ;(
Does anyone on Earth honestly like the smell of Pachouli oil, especially a man ?
