WOW!!! I just made a cream that has all these ingredients except tea tree oil. Im quickly learning that this natural stuff is almost like a cure-all. beeswax, coconut oil and shea butter combined make great skin creams, salves, lip balm, hair product and now deodorant WOW!! Thanks for the vid!
Does it really stop sweat? The only reason I still use store bought antiperspirant/deodorant is because I sweat a lot more than some people and I've tried organic deodorants without aluminum but they don't stop the moisture. I don't like having a wet armpit so I'm back to aluminum antiperspirant/deodorant.
Thanks I am glad you enjoyed it. You can keep it refrigerated but I find it very difficult to roll up the tube when it is that cold. Really hot days I just have to apply it very gently. Ocne you have the products it is very cheap and easy.
Hi, I gotta question: when you apply it, doesn't that feel like gritty? Because mine is. So should I decrease the amount of baking soda or is that normal?
Temi Tickle I have been using this recipe for about a year and a half now and find it works wonderfully there were a few weeks during this pregnancy that I was concerned it wasn't quite strong enough but I think it was just hormones because it is back to working great. I have never used an oven but I don't see why it wouldn't work either way just watch you fats and bring them just to a melting point. Have fun!!
Yay!!! Canadian! PLEASE SHARE all your Supplier Website addresses in your descriptions or in one post?!?!PLEASE!! thank you SOO much. Tracy!!! Great stuff!!!
This is technically not an antiperspirant. You do not want to be putting any ANTIPERSPIRANT on your skin as that is bad for your health. Deodorant, yes. Antiperspirant, no. The body releases waste through the sweat glands so it's important to keep the pores on the armpit open. Antiperspirants use aluminum which blocks the pores and does not allow the body to release toxicity from the body (by sweating). This does not contain any antiperspirant ingredients, so it is not an antiperspirant (thank god!) but yes, it is a deodorant. I make my own deodorant using coconut oil, baking soda, and organic cornstarch, but I'm sure this works too.
You probably shouldn't call it antiperspirant as it contains no aluminum. Which blocks perspiration. But simply deodorant. I personally prefer Granny's Natural Deodorant. It's a new product not in stores yet but sold online. It works wonders. It doesn't break me out and its creamy. The other stuff was either really hard to put on or broke me out but Granny's Natural Deodorant works great.
+clarnicpsu05 I have never had a problem from staining. clothing stains are not usually from deodorant but from body secretions so if you are prone to stains you may continue to have this problem no mater what you use.
Could you refrigerate these for a more "Solid" rolling on? This is a neat tutorial; I didn't realize how easy it was to make deoderant at home without paying 3$ a bottle for it! Good job :)
hellooo!! I really wanna try this one!! but I have a problem, the mix that turned out for me was too liquid so it started to drip from the bottom of my container!! :((( making a mess, any suggestion?? thanks for sharing your recipe!
I have never had this happen, you may just need it to cool a bit more before adding it to your container so it goes in at a bit thicker consistency just be careful not to cool to much or you will have air pockets once you do put it in the container. Hope this helps.
Does this work for REALLY sweaty ladies? I sweat so much I used to wake up in the morning and sweat, while sitting in bed. Ick. I have to take extra shirts to work to change just so I don't feel icky all day long. I've tried clinical and that didn't work well. I'd like to make my own and I wanted to know some opinions of others. SO....does this really work for REALLY sweaty peoples? Thanks!
Jamie Rizzo I got more sweaty when I was pregnant and it couldn't keep up. That being said you can make it stronger with more cornstarch but I have never tried sorry I can't be more help. Good luck
Thank you so much for the the suggestions! I know that the tea tree oil also has antiseptic properties...I'll do a little more research to see what else might work similarly. :)

TracyDIYMom Hi, you don't put baking soda in your? Thanks
The deodorant that I've been using my entire adult life has been discontinued. I will give this recipe a try. Thank you for sharing
Are you using refined or unrefined coconut oil? Can I use the stove top instead of the microwave? Thanks!

Help! I made my own deodorant and put it into an old deodorant container, but it won't push up. Why might that be?
cool recipe. does this deodorant cause any armpit stains on clothing?

more beeswax will help if your in a higher temperature area
you have all these nice natural products...and then you stuff them into the microwave O.0
I agree !!!!!! oh no not the microwave .
Is the Beeswax a powder or pastille?
My old man likes the clear sport deodorant. Do you have a recipe for that? Thanks!!

Jamie Rizzo try arrow root powder instead of cornstarch if that doesn't work
lunerwerewolf cool ty!
is it a medical problem?(I'm not being rude, but if this is a serious problem w/your body you need to see a healthcare pro.)
i looked up canwax and couldn't find the large bottle of coconut oil :(
+Jen L Costco is a great place to purchase larger quantities of coconut oil as well
+TracyDIYMom what about the other stuff. i just want to try out the recipe and don't want to buy large quantities.
Hey there! Can you recommend an alternative to the tea tree oil? It causes my boyfriend to have horrible headaches. Thank you so much! TracyDIYMom
Laryssa Neel Eucalyptus or spearmint :)
Laryssa Neel Any essential oil that you like will work
Thank you so much for the the suggestions! I know that the tea tree oil also has antiseptic properties...I'll do a little more research to see what else might work similarly. :)
I didn't use tea tree oil either; I used peppermint essential oil. It works fine. Choose one which you like the smell of as well
Dr. Cosmo Kramer Good call ....thanks again! (btw, have you noticed if the beeswax makes the batch sticky when you wear it?)
Does it leave white residue on your clothes? Thanks
+Nan Traylor nope I have never had an issue
you dont mentioned if it stop sweating
thats what the “antiperspirant” in the title implies, yes, it should reduce or prevent sweat there
Thank you!
your very welcome, I love mine.
You didnt say how much corn starch.
I'm surprised she didn't use baking soda.
Microwave is a no no. Also, your Ingredients should be organic if possible. Melt ingredients using stovetop or oven instead of microwave.
