While the frizz is frustrating, the frizz gives ur locs a nice aura affect imo, it’s one of those natural imperfections that I think looks good

Girl ! I am so glad that you made a statement about starter locks. I was in New Orleans and this girl behind me was making comments about how people should know when to take two strand twist out their hair when It gets to old….. I was like girl really? I let her know that These are not two strand twist ;these are starter locks ….I also told her to mind her business…. I also told her to stop being rude and if she had questions about my hair she should’ve asked me.
why do black women always gotta be investigating other peoples scalp ?
Thank you for educating those who don’t know how to mind their business or appreciate the journey .
By the way your hair is gorgeous.✌🏾❤️

Girl that ain't nothing! It is white girls that do it too, please. It's just messy folks. The girl/woman she had nerves to point her finger at the top of my head and say " what's that piece sticking out"? My locs were passed the baby loc stage where I had to decide to marry the little one to the bigger one. I didn't believe it! And, I met up with her again at the store, she asked, when you take your locs down are you going to cut them or pick them out. She has waist length hair. My hair was laying over my shoulders than, and I told her neither that I was having too much fun enjoying my journey. Wats up with that? And, why cutting my locs off were her concern. Haters! Like it's okay for her to have whatever hair she wanted on her head and sport it, so it's like we getting too much fame coming out with our natural strands,. Now, that my 3 yrs passed last month, I am rocking middle back length to my bra. Looking back, I enjoyed all stages. Loving it still. Learned through trial and error and lots of asking others.

They don't stop at scalps. They pull out a magnifying glass for other's clothing choices, weight/body types .... nail color choice smh it's sad how invested in other peoples business people can get.

I think it's a root of insecurity on their behalf. Bc if a person is confident in themselves & what they have going on with themselves/their own lives, they wouldn't have the time or energy to even be focused on the next. But yeah, I get exactly what you all are saying

I’m almost 1 month locd and I love it here … since having my starter locs they are already budding in some areas and people are like that’s too soon but I didn’t start with two strand twist I started with coils so it make a difference bc I don’t have to go through the twist taking their time to unravel within themselves and start budding… and if my coils come loose or loosen up I don’t retwist them or coil them back bc that’s helping my process too i feel I just wait until my mom does my hair again and she do it lol…i also retouched my roots with bleach and ppl were in a frenzy and that I still deep condition and do protein treatments but I do it because my hair isn’t locd fully I did that and washed my hair at two weeks so my mom just did my perimeter and left the rest alone … later down the line I would prolly dilute the treatments I put in my locs but ppl have to understand everyone loc journey and hair is different and I still have to treat my hair because it is bleached … like u can’t have a lot of oil or no oil I love it for my scalp and a lot of ppl don’t like aloe Vera juice in their locs and I love it in mine! And I’m not someone who can use just water to retwist like others lol but I love listening and watching other people journey I always learn something even though my mom a loctician…new subbie 💚

I'm almost 4 months in. I'm trying to semi freeform bc I want my locs to get as thick as they possibly can. I swear the marrying and the bunching is the most annoying part, especially when it's wash day. My hair is a looser texture and I have an oily scalp as well, so I really have to scrub my scalp to get it clean. That causes my hair to marry like crazy and bunch like crazy because the strands slip up towards the roots. I also pull the ends back down (and I've even combed my ends on the super bunched ones) and recently I've noticed the loc'd portion got super thin. I've been in a dilemma, so I'll def try the ACV & lemon trick!

I'm 3 months in at the moment, I started with coils but I plan on combing them out and starting with 2 strand twists instead because I feel that it would be better for my hair type than the coils are doing. Since my hair is so soft and not curly is some areas, I feel that it would get more secure and actually loc with twists rather than being in coils.

Your hair is beautiful ♥️.... Just a suggestion with the loose hairs. I did the same thing you did when trying to tame my loose hairs and what ended up happening was ... my love looking like they were choking in spots weakening the love in spot because it was in a choke hold from wrapping my loose hairs. Try... Loc smithing. If you put it in the search engine on RUclips several videos will pop up about loc smithing. It works miracles for loose hairs. Hope that doesn't offend you. Again your locs are beautiful ♥️♥️

      @@AnandaMonea ,
Just dropped in , since not having looked at any new baby loc journey in a while. May I ask if you started with freeform? It looks sooooos good and healthy. I am 3 years now since last month! I was over joyed when I started, however, I didn't know it was going to be so much maintenance. Lol, it's all good. Yup, I was tripping on the frizzy but all at the same time, I wanted the friz because it gave a natural texture look. People kept telling me that the friz were going to disappear and they did; but now my locs are smooth. I get very little frizz now. Enjoy your journey. I am still happy about mine.

Hello, I wanted to know if you started with regular two strand twists or you got the roots coiled and then then 2 stranded the rest of it, because I seen 2 types of 2 strand starter locs

Will the ends stay curly? Mine are curly and I’m wondering when the locs mature will they still stay curly? Thanks

They’ll only stay curly if you maintain it

Heyyyyy!! Do you do anything special to your hair that gives it that curly look?

Hey love✨, no if you have curly hair it will naturally have that look. I just spray water. The first couple of months with my starter locs I would sometimes twirl my fingers around the ends to define the curls a little more but that’s it.
