    I started with two strand twists and secured with an interlock. The so called “ugly phase” I consider transitional and the fuzz and frizz is my favourite part. My loctitian asked if I wanted her to use the needle to clean the loose frizzy hair and I was like NO! Lol … it’s what I love most ❤️

    • @getrealhood
      @getrealhood 2 года назад +1

      What all did the interlocking really do for you?

      @@getrealhood I’m only five months in and I’ve only had one re-tie. My next one will be on the 25th of this month but so far so good. I prefer interlock because I’m menopausal and it’s more secure when I sweat. Plus I’m in this for life cause I just can’t be bothered with hair and I need a fast solution 😃

      Same. I have very fine "4a" hair, even though it's thick, so I needed smaller locs and love the frizz. I'm 6 months in now and the two stranded look is disappearing. The frizz makes my hair look super thick and I love it. I don't feel like it's an ugly phase. For once I actually love my hair and what it's doing 🤣

    I'm 52 and I have had locs for 5 months. I hate it. I didn't know what budding was. Well, I thought I knew, baby surprise, surprise, surprise. It's a hot mess. However, I'm going to stick with it. I'm tired of wigs, sew-ins, and whatever else we do. I started with the coil method, my hair has shrunk!!!! My twenty-eight-year-old son keeps encouraging me to hang in there. Y'all, I'm going to stick with it and see what the end is going to be.

    I got small starter coils yesterday 3/23/24.
    I just like the natural ropey shape they have in the long run, no braid patterns.
    I believe in keeping things simple 😂.

    My hair is 10-12 inches and length regarding the twists vs coils wasn't something I considered and the size expansion was good to know. Looking on this journey next year after I grow out my undercut.

    I’ve had my two strand twists in for a month and a half and after watching this video I think i’m gonna take them out. I don’t know if i’m going to make them smaller or just do coils. I wasn’t aware and educated on the thickness that can build up and i don’t want them too thick AT ALL 😂. Thank you so much for this video cause now you got me wanting to restart. I’m glad I didn’t get too far because If they started budding and I saw this video I would be so upset

      Check out Naps Are The New Black. She (and others) have started with two-strand twists and hair is not too too thick.

      It really depends on your hair’s density and parting size! Smaller parts will make smaller locs

      Omg that’s my bday. This must be a sign bc I was debating on retrying locs or, the exact opposite, perming and getting a pixie cut 🤭

    Hi! I discovered your video as I was trying to make sense of why my locs unravel. I have 4C hair and my locs(almost 2 months old) unravel at the temple or at the nape. Everything makes sense! Thank you!🌟

    I started with two strand twists and then I took them out and I’ve been letting my hair stay out of the twist for months doing two strand twists and moving to coils is helpful because the twists help keep the hair in shape as it develops a bit more so that it won’t come out
