Also for the shared 600, 60, 12, and 0.5 lumine options the turbo s battery lasts longer then the s1r baton 2. Beam Distance and Light Intensity are the same. The positives for the new one is that it weighs slightly less, is slightly smaller, and just barely has a smaller body diameter. S1r baton turbo s is $60, S1r 2 baton is $65. Though the 25% off at launch puts the s1r 2 baton at $48.75. With discount s1r 2 baton is the better deal. You you think they'll faze out the s1r turbo s?
@@MrThatblueguy I have both S1R and S1R II and I assure you S1R II is better in every way than S1R It's smaller, brighter, grippier, faster charging and with all that said, I don't think minus 1 lumen mode is really an impact
Love this light! Disappears in the coin pocket of pants. I have since upgrated to the s2 baton for more horsepower/battery life. My only complaint is if you are doing an extended project and you want it bright, the battery and heat protection mode with turn it down automatically. Not good in the middle if a job.
Definitely a cool little flashlight. It's amazing how much light they can get from such a small package.. I would definitely use the lanyard though, my hands aren't what they once were
The Olight S1R Baton 2 is a great little light. It's been in my EDC rotation along with an Acebeam TK16 AL. You forgot to mention that while the Olight comes with a proprietary battery, it will work with any CR123A or RCR123.
Just a word of caution. I have an S1 Baton it is the original model but it has a magnet in the butt end. I can't tell you how many times that light would drag something else out of my pocket because of that magnet. Also there were several times I lost the light because my keys or knife would drag the light out without my knowledge and drop the light somewhere in the lawn. I still have it but I don't carry it any longer. It is a spare light that serves as a refrigerator magnet. I now carry the Olight I3T.
If you're interested in removing the magnet, I am more or less certain that it should be possible to do. As far as I know it should be a ring magnet held down by some type of insert. Undo the insert and the magnet should come right out! That is if it works in the way I've understood

I had to get 2 of them...sigh...( I'm a flashlight nerd)...This brings my total too: 2 S1R turbo Baton, 2 S1R turbo II Baton's (enroute), 1 iREOS, 1 Smini in copper, 1 S30R III Baton, 1 H2R Nova, 1 R50 Pro Seeker, 1 R50 ProSeeker LE Edition... Out of all of them I use the Batons more for everyday carry, followed by the H2r Nova...( The Batons I clip on the ring of my 511s so no interference with the magnet & pocket items), and the Nova as a headlamp at night and pocket light during daylight... As I said...I'm a flashlight nerd!!! LOL...Thank's for the great video!!! :-)
This ia an awesome light and my house utility light for the last year. Magnetic charger is great. It sits on my counter for any task around the house, garage, outside with HUGE output capability in a small size. Honestly it is a bit too much for me for EDC. I wouldn't mind carrying it, but it's just not necessary. I carry an EOS 1r2 on my keychain and that has always been enough for me for edc and so handy for the size. Love Olight products generally that are very well built and reliable.

Very impressive flashlight to say the least. My only gripe is that lanyard attachment isn't particularly feasible. The hole is tiny and the location does not work well with small key chain loops. Something like the old Mini-mag light location works much better for that particular purpose. I have resorted to using the wrist strap and using some knots to make it more like a lanyard.
Great review. Even better knowing it takes a CR123A battery; now I have a dual purpose for that; since I carry a PL-2 Val for my handgun. You really helped out narrowing down purpose.

I literally just rewound to hear you say "popular knife". That was great man, and seriously, you just went forward without missing a beat here. Nice! I've had the S1 Baton for over a year, and really enjoy it. I ended up giving it to my wife when we were still dating. She keeps it clipped to her purse and loves it, but didn't start using it a lot until more recently when we ordered a slew of rechargeable batteries. It's nice to have these new features with the new designs, but I am very much a fan of just swapping out the batteries and keeping the light on me. I'm rather liking the i3T eos but the batteries don't last long. However it is great for clipping to the nylon pouch of my Leatherman Wave Plus. On the topic of modes... I prefer a light that starts always in low and can be cycled to high. No tlashing or S.O.S. nonsense. Tail click, soft press to turn on or cycle, hard press on, and a sturdy clip that keeps it lense down in my pocket or attached to a pouch. Another good video, Taylor. Really looking forward to the EDC video in the morning!!! Looking forward to seeing this weeks gear collections 😎

can you use a non-proprietary battery and not use the charger? like if it dies stop in to a drug store or wall mart. so you can finish your day and swat the rechargeable back in when you get home.
I own a side button flashlight, that's about the same size, that likes to turn on in my pocket. The button gets triggered by the fabric, especially when I sit down. Has anyone who's carried the Olight Baton II have that issue? It looks like a solid light, but I don't want to buy it if it's going to have that problem.
A thousand lumens for 1.5 minutes then you basically have s 300 lumens flashlight. Also how hot does this this get which is why it steps down so quickly?

I've only heard great things about the new Civivi line! There are 3 models at $42.50, I personally like the look of the Praxis the best, and there are also 3 different colors. G10, steel liners, 9cr18mov (which is comparable to VG-10), 3.75" so a full size blade, and deep carry clips on all three models.

The customer service for this company is horrible. The battery that came with it doesn't hold a charge for long. They refuse to answer questions regarding what batteries to use. If you dont use the battery that came with it the high lumen mode doesn't work and will not charge. Theres the battery for the s1r not the 2nd generation but this battery is marked for the s1r baton II only. Like I said they wont answer whether it's intended to use the battery from the baton I. There are questions there dating to March that are unanswered and no they haven't replied to emails

The reversed clip is for clipping it to your hat.

You'd be better off going to a vape shop and see if they have any 18350 IMRs
...or carry a battery bank. They make ones that slip into your pocket.
