What did you decide on lol. I have been carrying the baton for about a year and I am hard on lights as I am a mechanic so the one I carry is starting to show some age
I carry the S1R II As my EDC and work Light. I am very impressed at how long the battery last and how bright the little light is. In the evenings I carry the M1T Raider Plus and on the weekends I carry the Baton Pro. I own and have carried the Warrior Mini, S2R II, I5T, & I3T. Along with the bigger lights like the M2 Warrior and Pro Warrior X. To me the S1R is smaller and easier to use daily, ( for what I do, HVAC ) than the S2R. I find the S2R and the Warrior Mini to be the same, but with the tail switch. I like the Warrior more because of the that. They seem to have similar spotlight beams and distances at 0-100yds. So yes Warrior mini is more tactical because of those features, even if the bezel isn’t full of sharp spikes. But I still prefer the M1T Raider Plus over it, as I like the spot with some flood for use in normal 75yds and under use. Then there’s the Baton Pro, a super bright flood light, which I find to be excellent for all around use!! Just like Apple products, I’ll be giving away my Warrior Mini and wait for the “S” or “Pro” update. I hope they combine the 2 and have the Warrior Mini Pro. Until then I’ll wait, as the other lights are working for me.
Great review, I love my H2R and was just thinking about these two for a regular EDC. I was leaning towards the Warrior mini (because of the End cap button) but your magnet comment has got me re-thinking. Thanks again you covered all usable features i was interested in. Got tired of looking at beam patterns in other video lol
Isn’t the beam pattern and intensity like 75% of what makes a light better or worse than another light tho?? Cuz when I watch a LIGHT review I expect to see the damn thing turned on in the dark.....I mean because that is the SOLE purpose of a light ya know, they really aren’t used for ANYTHING else at all
The magnetic tail cap on the S2R baton too saved me loosing a lot of tiny little metal parts. I just scan the ground with the magnet and it picks it up.
Was ready to go ahead and switch from Streamlight to the Olight M2R Warrior Pro mainly due to the magnetic tail charger,, then Covid-19 happened and I blew that decision out of the universe. Fortunately I found an outstanding flashlight made right here in the U.S. and it's going to be an Olight killer, it's made by PowerTac out of N.C. Check out the E9R G4, I think most will like it.
The dual action tailswitch is just superior on the m2r warrior, I had one, I saw the ui for the e9r and I can already see it's worse. Also the m2r runs a 21700 battery which is nearly 66% more capacity. I think the magnetic charging is much better and that alone would make me pick it but honestly anyone who doesn't care about proprietary batteries would and should pick the m2r. Also outputs and throw are pretty similar on top of that. This company is not an olight killer but I could see them competing if they improve over the next few years.
Perfect overall review! I don’t even need to watch any others to make my (personal) decision on getting it. You just got a subscription sir. 💯 on the moonlight mode - I often find reviews neglecting to stress it’s ability. With 3 kids under 5yrs I use moonlight the most on my S2R2 for precisely the reasons you mentioned. I also mount my S2R2 on the fridge or microwave on a regular basis to avoid turning on the kitchen light when it’s late. One thing I don’t like about the S2R2 (and this would be the case for this Warrior-Mini) is that it doesn’t mount very well on the bill of a hat. It’s just a hair too long and just isn’t a solid mount. With Warrior-Mini being a bit longer it’d be worse. If anyone has a work around let me know. For me, as I use mine light at home more than on the job site, I think I’ll stick with the S2R2. One question: What is your diffuser?
Thanks for such a high praise and are you my lost twin! I do these exact things 100%. To keep the light from shining under the door. I am out my flashlight on the fridge and illuminate everything. The diffuser is from AZ printsmith. They make a compact one like you see here and a larger lantern one. And yes, I too switched back to the S2R2 after the newness wore off from the Warrior Mini.
@@JadeGeminiM390 Ha! Nice to meet you twin. Thanks for the info! I’ve been thinking about the S1R2. It would basically give me a slightly less powerful S2R2 but I’d be able to hat mount it. Still .5L on moonlight as well. Any experience?
@@MrSupercow412 As a matter fact I do. In my experience this light doesn’t make a lot of sense for EDC. Basically the reason why is because of the smaller battery they’ve actually made the medium mode 60 lm instead of 120. Which for me between 15 and 60 isn’t such a huge differences But because of the bigger battery on the S2R2, the runtime is capable for 120 longer which is kind of like a perfect setting for common outdoor task. I would actually recommend getting a Emisar D4V2 and getting the smaller middle tube. Basically what that means is that this like has interchangeable metal tubes so you can change the length but keep the same tail so and head/button. Keep an eye out as I will be reviewing this and comparing it directly to the S2R2 very soon.
I really only use s2r I just ordered the Odin mini it's coming in 2 days and I just ordered the warrior mini with the flash sale to get the obulb for 51 bucks seems like a nice deal
@@avonbarksdale3657 You will LOVE it. I gave 8 Olight warrior mini's this Christmas. Also gave the PERUN MINI Headlight. That thing is amazing! 1000 Lumens and handy size.
I have both and am leaning toward the s2r II, it has a cooler color temperature, which is my preference. And the longer run time is a plus, especially if you use the OEM 3500 mah battery. And its so basic. I like the tailswitch on the mini but its really just another part to fail. The s2r meets my requirements.
Finally someone talking about moonlight. I had to go with a Zebralight flashlight to get a "better" moonlight coming in at 0.33 lumens. Very handy for a baby. Great review i own both these lights would recommend the warrior mini unless you need the better magnet on the s2r ii.
I surprisingly went back to the baton. The newness sort of wore off and I noticed I really didn’t use the performance increases as much as I needed the lower moon light mode.
Very good video and nicely done! I really like comparison videos and yours was well-done. I like the compariaon sheet u printed; always helps having those numbers side-by-side. Good talking points and the way u broke it down was very practical. The only possible critique i would have is that it would have been nice to either have u bring the lights up close to the camera to show multiple angles close up or zoom the camera slightly, just to get a better look at them in closer detail. Just a nit-pick really, overall very cool flashlight video and if u make more, i will be back to check it out 👍
What I love about my baton II is that it is really small and the back is like solid rock. which means it can strike hard as hell. This seems to be different for the warrior mini. Does the different button end make it softer to hit with?
Well the one is made out of solid aluminum, the other one actually hits probably about as hard because it has those little dimples so if you hit something, those dimples would be taking all the force so that would probably hurt a lot too.
I don't care much about the tail switch, some people really seem to. I would've gotten the titanium warrior mini but they sold out, so now I've got one of the titanium s2r2 on the way from the newest sale.
Nice review. I keep coming back to these comparisons and for me the more I think about it the smaller S1 R2 is more convenient is so many ways the slight loss in lumens is inconsequential. “They” say anything over 350 lumens is good for SD so the difference between 1000 and 1500 would not matter imo. Don’t forget bad guys do bad things in the natural light as well LOL so a flashlight other than for a club may never come into play. I really like the fact that the baton can stay firmly on a refrigerator or similar. I think that is a major plus. Also the baton seems more likely to be clipped onto the front of a ball cap whereas I think the warrior might not be able to do that. Not joking around but keeping it real I personally cannot relate to the often mentioned getting up in the middle of the night needing a flashlight. On the rare occasion there is usually the faintest hint of some natural light and we all know where the kitchen in the bathroom are. I don’t have kids but I have seen peoples’ houses with kids where they maintain soft outlet lights 24/7. With that said I do think there are many advantages to the moonlight and I have to say I’m more in favor of one lumen than .5 lumens. If the S1r2 ever bumps up moonlight to 1 lumen it’d be just about perfect imo. Related topic: EDC. I think whether it be a flashlight a knife or perhaps a gun the concept of EDC pertains mostly in practicality to law-enforcement emergency services or tradesmen respectively. I’ve come up with my own acronym and I call it GWS or goes without saying. My GWS are my car keys phone and wallet. On my keychain I have the tiny but mighty Olight i3EOS which puts out a whopping 90 lumens which easily lights up a room and on the same keychain I have a very tiny Swiss Army knife neither of which I ever seem to use. With that said I can hardly imagine ever needing 1000 or 600 or 500 lm for any reason that I can recall in the recent past. I know there is a kid in all of us and I love looking at these Olights and I may just get one for the heck of it but I think for those of us living in the lower 48 and not experiencing months of darkness I just personally never seem to need a flashlight or at least carry one on my person. Not trying to be a killjoy here LOL but I wonder what other people think and how often they really need a flashlight as opposed to just playing around with it because you already bought it? 🤷♂️🤔
The warrior mini 2 will hold off of some surfaces if you make sure one of the points of support is at 6 o’clock but yeah just tried it on my fridge and that didn’t work but wouldn’t you just put it down on the side or use one of your other 10 olights instead :)
🚨🚨❌❌🚨🚨. HELP!! Where can I locate a red diffuser for the warrior mini? GREAT REVIEW BTW!!! I have both and just tried to buy the mini “mega pack” in colors, but they were sold out. Thanks!
I think they sold out minutes after they went on sale if you mean the Warrior mini season limited edition ones. A few of the individual ones lasted about an hour or so.

My 4 D cell maglite in the 70s should have come with a shoulder mount. Things are getting so small and light I can carry more gear in my 60s than I did in the Marine corps in my 20s
These don’t have sensors. Some newer models do have sensors built on but apparently can be overridden if you ask Olight themselves and they tell you some secret. IDK if that’s all true though since I haven’t seen the warrior mini 2
The only Olights I have that looks that good in 6 months are the ones I don't use. My goto baton and i3 eos are worn to the bear metal. You must not carry it very much, or you baby the crap out of it.

Seriously? Another person talking about using a miniature flashlight for protection? Those people should just tuck their little light back in their purse and run.
I’m glad you asked. First of all let me start off by saying that this was actually subconscious and that you or if any of my viewers are a part of the military community I have the upmost respect and think that it is the most honorable thing you can do as a person. There’s a couple reasons though why I put in quotation. First is that the term tactical is completely subjective. I am someone who kind of believes that the best tool for the job is the one that you have. So for someone to label one knife more tactical than another seems somewhat silly especially since there’s so many different designs you could say that a double sided edge is tactical or a tanto or that a shank is tactical. Second is the example that the term tactical is used as a hot word to sell items to people that don’t necessarily have the training or mindset in place but think who that says tactical I can defend myself now. Not that there aren’t people out there that do you know how to use the equipment properly. It’s kind a like when people put the word sport on the back of something that’s a freaking minivan. It’s just a marketing term at this point although it’s origins Meant something different. I hope this helped with your question and I hope you have a great rest of your night
I have never had one break kver the 3-4 years I have used Olight But I also have seen on the Olight FB group some breaks. Honestly I think if you have that hard core of a job I would just get one of the belt pouches. 😃
I would recommend the Reylight lan or ti pineapple then with a solid thick screw on clip! Love and miss this light will probably buy again myself. www.reylight.net/product/ti-pineapple/
I would say so. Honestly though the M1T Raider is a 800 lumin light and I’ve seen as low as 600 lumens in self defense lights also keep in mind that a robber creeping around in the dark being hit with a 200 lumens, let alone 1000+ will really take your eyes for a spin. That being said from my almost absent knowledge of self defense. Momentary on and off can really help disorient someone and in a Adrenaline field situation. No matter how trained you are with the light you are not going to be calm enough to be able to double click the light to turbo and single click it off and double click it again and continuously do that.
Have any of you actually used a flash light beam in self defence? The best thing for self defence is to learn to box or some form of MMA. That will teach you how to carry yourself which puts 99 percent of people off. I'm a security officer and the way I talk/stand makes people realise to back off.
@@JadeGeminiM390 definitely look into it. For self defense, ask yourself how many times do you get into a conflict situation a year? If less than 2 a year, a torch with a strong beam isn't going to be the decider in self defense lol. On my patrols I sometimes carry a torch but more as a physical item in my hand than for the beam. It's hard to tell if someone is going to attack etc or if they are just loud / drunk. So you don't want to be pointing a beam straight away into someone's eyes if they aren't actually going to do anything to you... Your body langiahe, tone and what you say carries so much more weight. Holding a torch in your hand off isn't a threat but a deterrent because no one wants to be hit with one.
So I would be very interested to see what lights in particular have stats that match the amount of modes and the lumen output and throw that the Olight here. Also keep in mind the size compared to these lights. In my humble opinion I feel like a lot of people say they suggest because of nationalism and not liking lights that are made another places. I also feel like it’s kind a like comparing a F150 insane of the jeeps much better in every way. But you are maybe just looking at it from the standpoint of Offroad. So maybe for tactical use the stream light is better but for every day convenience like a moonlight mode to not wake up a baby that’s sleeping maybe it’s not the best. Just interesting things to keep in mind 😃
Flash lights are hardly weapons but beam the guy up at close range with defensive mode and all he can see are purple spots for a few seconds... enough to disorient him and get the edge to strike back
If I have it like the MB Star / Mitsubishi Tri Star the gap at the bottom makes the light roll off the mag and it quickly falls. The other way (180 degrees) and it is so hard to get perfectly distributed that if a butterfly flaps it wings across the room, the light will fall 😆
Awesome review! I too am worried about magnetizing my mechanical watches with the magnet on the Warrior. I will probably still pick one up on their Black Friday sale, but I might see if I can remove the magnet
Where There is the regular made which is 120 lumens and then the 1500 on the tailcap. Then there is the tactical which is turbo and on hard press strobe. These lights are not programmable like a D4V2 for example. It just has those modes.
I kind of agree. The half woman just seems easier in the middle of the night and the tail cap being flat makes it easy to be able to stick on things like the refrigerator. I do find it a lot harder to see with the night time filter on but I still feel the The newness of the warrior has worn off and the S to our two is back in the pocket
Erick Ferrini Not gonna be fiddle fucking around with a side switch when I need light NOW. Why would I train my draw stroke countless times to shave hundredths when it’s all in vain because I can’t find the switch on my damn flashlight and can’t positively identify the threat?
I guess since I’ve used the side switch so much it’s more into it for me at least to double tap to turbo. But I could understand momentary on and off would be kind of hard single tap and double tapping single tapping. I do love my raider though! :D
As with any olight, dont worry about which one to get, get both

The S1RII is hard to best, plus you can’t even tell you are carrying it
Great review, I love my H2R and was just thinking about these two for a regular EDC.
Lol like fishing for knife screws
@@JadeGeminiM390 That and those tiny fingerboard parts
Just checked it out. I agree with Brett but that lifetime warranty is pretty fuckin crazy
@@JadeGeminiM390
Ha!
@@JadeGeminiM390
Awesome! Looking forward to it sir.
Best EDC light: S1R2 Baton II
Best light overall for daily use and you can easily mount to your hat with no problems! 🤙🏽
Nice review! I can totally relate about using the light to get something in the night for the baby!
Keep up the good videos
Thanks so much!
Literally the main reason I use most of my flashlights, dad duty in the middle of the night. Moonlight is a must.
I just do not get why they are going with higher moon lumen. Total deal breaker for edc type lights. 0,5 is almost too high in my opinion.
Excellent review / comparison keep up the good work!
Thank you so so much!
I really only use s2r I just ordered the Odin mini it's coming in 2 days and I just ordered the warrior mini with the flash sale to get the obulb for 51 bucks seems like a nice deal
Sameeeaa, wanted bulb.
Only question I have Is... where did you get that red diffuser from?
It was answered in an earlier comment.
I have both.. The Warrior Mini is superior. I don't even consider grabbing the S2r when they are next to each other. I always grab the Warrior.
Just ordered my warrior
@@avonbarksdale3657 You will LOVE it. I gave 8 Olight warrior mini's this Christmas. Also gave the PERUN MINI Headlight. That thing is amazing! 1000 Lumens and handy size.
You do know they also make the Baton Pro, But I thought you did a great job on your comparison.
SR2 Baton 2 ... is my favorite. But I love them both...Best wish’s .. happy holidays. Stay safe.🙏👍🔪🔪🔪
As an owner of the S2RB2 for a while this was a great video! I was looking for a tail cap equivalent and this really helped, thanks!
The warrior mini is basically an s2rb2 with a tail cap and slightly brighter more lumens and The grip knurling feels a little different
@@jamesfair9751 TY!
I have both. The baton was my go to for years. The new features of the mini was exactly what was missing. The baton now is a back up.
Just a nit-pick really, overall very cool flashlight video and if u make more, i will be back to check it out 👍
Thanks for the kind words and the feed back! Looking to make more flashlight videos to come!
Very helpful video. I appreciate the side by side card
What I love about my baton II is that it is really small and the back is like solid rock. which means it can strike hard as hell. This seems to be different for the warrior mini. Does the different button end make it softer to hit with?
Well the one is made out of solid aluminum, the other one actually hits probably about as hard because it has those little dimples so if you hit something, those dimples would be taking all the force so that would probably hurt a lot too.
the lanyard hole for this one is on the belt clip
Thanks, this video has help inform me of what I’m going to choose
I don't care much about the tail switch, some people really seem to. I would've gotten the titanium warrior mini but they sold out, so now I've got one of the titanium s2r2 on the way from the newest sale.
I use mine as a tool and own both.. if you want to stick either to steel neither have slipped on me but stainless steel is a different beast
Wow! You went from 100 up to almost 800 in 11 months. Good for you! Thanks for your review. Count me in as a new $ub!

Excellent Review, one of the most well done that I've seen
But the warrior is meant to be mountable to a rifle or large handgun with an attachment to the back button.
🚨🚨❌❌🚨🚨. HELP!! Where can I locate a red diffuser for the warrior mini?
GREAT REVIEW BTW!!! I have both and just tried to buy the mini “mega pack” in colors, but they were sold out.

Question please. Do they both have close proximity sensors? Btw, I've used reverse clips for hat visors to free up hands for home and auto repairs.
As I own both, the the Warrior Mini takes it for the tail cap switch alone.
The only Olights I have that looks that good in 6 months are the ones I don't use. My goto baton and i3 eos are worn to the bear metal. You must not carry it very much, or you baby the crap out of it.

does that red defuser slide onto the head of the light? Does it stay on or do you have to hold it next to the light? Also, where did you get it? Link?

Couldn’t you also put the defuser onto the tail switch to mitigate the strength of the magnet?

that's weird they were extremely responsive and helpful with mine. but i did need to send mine back twice... still great once you have a functioning one
I to can't believe this long of a video and no beam shots. I have both of these lights ad like the warrior better for the direct access to strobe mode with tail cap. Still they can't come close to matching my Zebralight SC62.

Why did you put quotes when you said tactical situations? That’s exactly how we use it.
The majority of my new lights are desert tan and they are almost all different shades. From what I hear that is normal
Yep. That’s why everyone’s “FDE” is different.
That color is called ‘dark flat earth’ for whatever reason cuz it ain’t dark lol
Flat dark earth
It is a bit darker it’s more the color of wet earth or mud dry earth dirt is lighter brown color.
How durable is the pocket clip , I heard it breaks easily , I don't want to loose an $80 light on the job site ....
I have never had one break kver the 3-4 years I have used Olight But I also have seen on the Olight FB group some breaks. Honestly I think if you have that hard core of a job I would just get one of the belt pouches. 😃

A comparison review without showing their beams in the dark? Miss.
Yes where are those?
Any flashlight review without beam shots is dumb. It’s like reviewing a car without even driving it.
can i use the s2r for self defense? i mean is it bright enough to be used in that situation (despite the side button)
Not my number one thought but definitely cool to know. I thought about doing blade and self defense. Maybe Gendai budo or Philippines martial arts.

Surefire and Streamlight are better lights
I am wondering how you are planning to self defense with the flashlight? 😄
The bright flashing strobe distorts am attackers vision and balance then you can hit them on the head with metal flashlight aka force multiplier.
Flash lights are hardly weapons but beam the guy up at close range with defensive mode and all he can see are purple spots for a few seconds... enough to disorient him and get the edge to strike back
