Great video. I agree with you!!! A small, good quality, inexpensive EDC flashlight makes a great gift or for practical EDC. Some years ago, PA experienced a small earthquake. My son was at Juniata College and was in a basement area of a building that didn’t have emergency lighting. He was there with about 20 fellow students. With his AAA flashlight, was able to lead everyone out of the building. His EDC comment since has often been “better to have something and not need it, than to need it and not have it.” I often give AAA flashlights to people who have done something that impacted my life or as gifts. My Cardiologist that literally saved my life for one as an example.
I think I disagree with most of edc guys because I like regular battery powered lights compared rechargeable. Don’t get me wrong cr123a and rechargeable lights have a place and are some of the brightest and smallest form factor lights on the market but you can’t beat being able to just walk into a gas station and picking up some fresh batteries for your flashlight before a camping trip or backpacking excursion. I like the accessibility of AA and AAA batteries. I will still buy rechargeable and cr123a but when presented with a choice I lean towards alkaline.
60 days on the baton 3 pro max on low which is the same amount of lumens as any standard flash light I hate having to buy battery’s and the fact it’s a lithium ion Battery means I’ll never have to worry about buying a battery
FYI, I took the longest time to settle on a new edc flashlight. You and LLOD are the ones that convinced me to try the Olight S1R II. Well done Sir.....very well done.
Proud owner of multiple Olights that I also switch out with the Rovyvon! Thanks for the awesome content, Taylor. Happy Thanksgiving to you and the fam. I'm going to go with 58.
I carry the m2t as a main light and the s1 as a keychain for my car keys. I also have the r50pro for the special situations. Olight makes some beautiful flashlights that have never failed on me.
the i5t has been my favorite light, i work in telecom and am in and out of customers homes all the time many of them very bad lighting and o light is brilliant making that clip you can clip it right to the brim of your hat and its super light cant even feel it up there and takes aa batteries which everyone has lying around quick and easy to swap out if it goes dead
I don't know if it's a good video idea or not but I'd like to see a list of EDC items that would fit a Secret Santa price limit like 25 bucks or so. Keep up the good work. 37 is my guess.
I got my mom an I1R EOS, she is amazed how bright the tiny light is. And now she carry it every day and sometimes she will get asked on where she get the light!
Taylor, thanks. You convinced me that I need a light in my EDC. I've got an S1R II coming from Amazon on Monday. A little Merry Christmas from my parents.
You have got to be kidding me!! I have been thinking and waiting for this video!!!! Thank you so much!! Totally considering one of these for the holiday season!!
My heart broke a little when you pulled the R50 Pro Seeker out and said she's not an EDC flashlight haha. I've been EDCing that (and an i3E EOS) for a few years now. My babies! But, I am looking at getting the S1R II Baton very soon and retiring the R50 to just home use only.
I always go with the battery version because of something ever happens and the power is out , you can’t charge it . The chances of you coming across batteries anywhere is more likely !
I carry a Gen. 1 S2R Baton everyday. I do also own a H2R but it's too easy to get it activated for my taste so it's relegated to my backpack. My pick : 7 Keep up your excellent work!
I have roughly 40 lights and I EDC two lights... One on my person and a slightly larger one in my EDC pack. Out of all my lights it's Olight that I almost always grab. 😃
I have the Olight i3E EOS and the Fenix E01 and I'd say the Fenix is a bit better, even though it's a bit larger. The reason for this is that the Fenix has three lighting modes (5 lm, 25 lm and 100 lm) while the Olight only has one (90 lm). Those low-power settings are usually enough for common tasks - like lighting up the way in front of you as you're walking down a path, checking a map or looking for something under a couch. That means the batteries of the Fenix will last much longer.
There is a better version of the keychain light. The I1R2 EOS. They fixed the cap problem by making it a spring loaded extension rather than screw off. Still cant use it while recharging since the light turns on by twisting cap and body together. However the bonus of this is you can carry it with the cap screwed on less to reduce the risk of accidentally turning it on in pocket and wasting battery since there is no longer a risk of loosing the cap if it comes all the way off.
My guess is 16. Great video, thank you sir! Just started carrying the S2R Baton II myself and it's a top performer. I also use moon mode while sneaking around the bedroom after my wife goes to sleep, lol.
Recently picked up an S1R Baton II. Where was this when in Scouts?! Most of us carried Mag Lights that were heavy and bulky. Really, not that bright. A few "ballers" had spot lights, which were big and had a large battery. Ok, bright. The S1R would put all of that stuff to shame, which is simply impressive given the lack of size.
Nice flashlights. I used to have the Olight I3S EOS and the S1 Baton for a couple years and now I'm EDCing the Lumintop Tool 2.0AA for a few months now and I really like it becuase of the price, size, 4 light levels, battery life, can use common batteries, simpler interface, tail switch and option to head twist to change modes or half press the tail. Having 2 switches is great for mechanical lock out and if your wearing gloves the head is easy to twist. I wish Olight would make a smaller version of the Seeker Pro for pocket carry. I really like the Seeker Pro button with LED battery and lumen status lights!
Ever since I got my first mini Valkyrie for my edc Glock 19 I've been an olight fanboy. I probably have 20 + products from them just recently got the O-pen pro and the O-knife. I love em
55!! Great ideas for stocking stuffers I got a few family members that would enjoy a new toy to carry. My father in-law is just blown away with my rovyvon first time I used it when the lights went out he swore I had a huge mag light in my pocket haha so might be getting him one of those for sure.
I know this is a 6 yr old video but I just found out that most of these flashlights are reprogrammable by half clicking your button 5x then holding it down, so you can alternate the automatic turn on mode to high or low
So while I was watching your review on the Raider you mentioned that the knurling on the bezel was merely for looks that is incorrect if you turn on the flashlight and place it light down on a surface you will notice that that knurling allows for light to escape making a very stealthy light for reading things or looking for small things without creating a lot of light try it out and let me know what you think
Astrolux and Olights, convoy, thru nite I done learned I just love a good flash light and I like building custom ones even more. It's a good little hobby
I got the olight pl mini on the sale they had on Black Friday and it came with the very small light for my keychain and is awesome they are very good and powerful I will purchase more from them
Flashlight content is needed for all people. Epsecially with a brand like Sofirn that's available fast on Amazon. Doesnt do the icky scammy lumen inflation to the 10th power. if they make it, its atleast not shitty. People who aren't torch heads, need this info.
Hey im a new subscriber and i love the content and explanation you give when talking about these lights! Thanks for the great info! Just bought an S2R ii 🔥
Wish more companies would put the full power mode on as the primary. And the lower powers in defending order. Also wish olight would use more tail cap switches. I'm sure they could make one that also includes a magnetic flush tail cap power switch so you can still stick it on things.
I just got a i1R2 EOS for free when I bought a M2R Pro Warrior. I liked this little i1R2 so much, I bought all the guys on my crew one. I wanted to edc the M2R but its honestly too big, so I ordered the S1R Baton II to use as my edc.
I don’t like the side button versions. I sometimes can’t find the button immediately - I’ve tried aligning the pocket clip to the opposite side - but the clip rotates out of place. Sometimes the clip covers the on/off as it twists in my pocket. I think they should change the dimensions of the the main cylinder so you can feel where the button is. 1 or 2 seconds is a lot of time if you want to use the torch to blind an attacker in self defence. Easy solution - put a bit of metal below the on/off button to stop the clip rotating .... if you are reading Olight :-D
Thank you for all the hard work that you do in putting together all of your videos. I always look forward to watching new videos from you. Keep up the great work. By the way my number pick is 58. Happy thanksgiving.
The only thing i really have against usb ports is that you cant charge the light if you power goes out. Which is a situation where a light would be super handy. ( i have plenty of power banks but i'd rather reserve those for my phone)
I'd love to see you review some more value oriented lights instead of just olights. I would suggest the sofirn sc21 pro, the thrunite archer mini, and the wukkos fc11 as all very good edc flashlights in 3 different form factors. All of these lights should be availible for less that $30
S1 mini Baton is my EDC flashlight. I have the model with the magnetic back cap you cant charge that way but it does stick to things really well, I have used it for car work stick it to the hood boom just a great tool
Really want the copper I3T. However the black would make for a good blackout EDC piece. Have a hard time settling so I'll end up getting both. Might spring for a rechargeable version just because I lost my charge cable for my Olight pistol light.
In an emergency and you need strobe, you need to press the button 3 times? Seems like a strobe would be quicker to access. I think one of my first Olights, you only had to press twice but my last two you have to press 3 times. Thanks for the video.
I've got a m1t raider that's missing the tail cap and I believe is burnt up. I've had it for close to 2 years now. Also got m31triton that doesn't work and 4 orb 186s35 batteries that don't work too. My x7 marauder got stolen 2 months ago.
What are you TALKING about "not that exciting"? I FETCHIN LOOOVE Flashlights dude!! I get a rousing chubby just hearing about them! It's embarrassing really. In fact, what's crazy is that after all of this time and all of the flashlights I've purchased (some cheap and some expensive) my favorites are the little Olight S1 baton I popped on my key-chain (and brag on whenever I can), and some techlights someone gave me from Costco. I think it's conservatively rated at like 320 lumens but it has a cool tail cap power button and is the perfect size. It's a BEAST with such a perfect balance between a rockin throw/hotspot/flood compared to the huge amount of others I've purchased and mostly been disappointed with. It just works ya know? I reach for it all of the time and it never lets me down...which is more than I can say for the crappy Duracell ones they've replaced them with. Same thing with pocket knives. Love spyderco Gerber, Kershaw, and of course who doesn't love Benchmade etc. But...don't forget, we're watching these videos because WE LOVE THIS CRAP!!! Now CAN I GET AN AMEN!!??
I hope they make an edc flashlight with at least 3 modes, high, medium & low with a tail clicky that runs on normal aa or aaa batterys. Also,it should be lens down in the pocket.
All I want in an EDC flashlight is 4 things, one of them being optional: 1)small,or atleast pocket compatible 2)battery operated 3)The mega rare ability to turn ON and OFF.....no high, mid, low or strobe. 4)Copper(optional)
Olight is just amazing till you have an issue with one or want to return one then good luck. They make you out to be a bad person because the light doesn't work . Might as well throw them in the trash if you have an issue , because that is where they belong.
Advantage of AAA & AA powered flashlights is that you can carry extra batteries on you and switch them in the field rather than trying to charge them.. unfortunately the O light AA &AAA will not let you use Eveready ultimate lithium batteries 🥺.. but you can use the max extra heavy duty alkaline batteries..
@@CanItAlready that's what the olight instructions say if you read them you can use Energizer Max alkaline type batteries but they do not recommend ultimate lithium????? I have no idea why unless Energizer ultimate lithium puts out a higher voltage?
@@glenmones713 Maybe that was a warning that came with their older lights? The instructions that came with my i3t that I got recently don't specifically mention energizer ultimate lithium. The "available batteries" section specifies alkaline, lithium and NiMH. The warning section says not to use batteries other than the ones in the available batteries section, "especially rechargeable lithium batteries". FWIW, I have some energizer ultimate lithiums here and they're marked 1.5V.
Ive bought two limited edition s1r, so sad i missed the sale. Could have saved $60 and bought the standard version as well :( The s1r is the best edc hands down. Maybe the s2r is better for some but s2r has enough run time for edc. No idea why someone would buy the other lights of similar size, unless budget of course. I plan on buying atleast 3 other lights, just waiting for sale (r50, h1r OR h2r , s2r) Would love a magnetic lamp dock charger mount for the s1r. Could use my s1r as a desk lamp and nightlight. And also a olight brand hat would be cool
My go to EDC flashlight is either my Streamlight stylus pro rechargeable or my Coast HP3R rechargeable I keep both on a belt holster I prefer the Coast due to the telescoping lens and the 2 power modes it has but I like the Streamlight for work I'm a mechanic so if I have oily or greasy gloves on and I'm using my scan tool for diagnostic work I can use the power cap as a stylus pen and not oil up the touch screen
I’ve bought a lot of Olight’s over the past couple of years and I really most of them. My favorite hand held Olight is the M1T Raider Plus and my EDC is the i3T EOS, small, but useful. Recently they have been replacing all of there disposable battery lights for the rechargeable style, and now the “ Pro “ version. With all of the holiday or flash sales going on, of course I “Had” to buy many of them. My opinion though is Olight is pushing the “Pro” model, high lumen output models, but in the real world or true specs these are Not better than their standard versions. Also they have but all abandoned the cr123 lights, like my person favorite Raider Plus. My latest purchase of the Warrior Pro was really disappointing, on both function and performance. So, for now I think I’m done buying Olights for awhile.
Taylor, any reason why you didn't cover the S30R Baton III? It seems like an EDC with more tactical and emergency applications with its hotspot and longer throw than the S2R Baton.
What’s your very best suggestion for a light that’s a compact to medium size. A thrower. Well built/tough/will last long/good warranty. And a budget of around 60$-ish
I've been addicted to these vids. How did I not see this guy until the other day?
Great video. I agree with you!!! A small, good quality, inexpensive EDC flashlight makes a great gift or for practical EDC.

Jeeze man he saved your life- spring for an s2r baton or something a little higher end 😌
A cuople of months ago I bought a rovivon after watching your review and i’m happy i did it! Thanks for sharing! All the best

Mini baton ftw. Its so tiny and you can feed it with either rechargeable or alkaline CR123

Cody Grooms great video idea imo
I like that but maybe fit the price to 50.sob you can do multiple options
watching your channel has created a monster here...I just bought 2 of the S2R BATON II last month when they were onsale... I'm hooked. my guess is 11
I got my mom an I1R EOS, she is amazed how bright the tiny light is. And now she carry it every day and sometimes she will get asked on where she get the light!
Taylor, thanks. You convinced me that I need a light in my EDC. I've got an S1R II coming from Amazon on Monday. A little Merry Christmas from my parents.
How do you like it? Thinking of getting one
imjustlookingformy dog just saw this. Love it. Got the S2R as well.
You have got to be kidding me!! I have been thinking and waiting for this video!!!! Thank you so much!! Totally considering one of these for the holiday season!!

I always go with the battery version because of something ever happens and the power is out , you can’t charge it . The chances of you coming across batteries anywhere is more likely !
When my wife asks why I need so many flashlights, I give her that reason. 🤷🏼♂️
You could use a power bank that you might already carry for your electronics
the micro stream usb flashlight can be used while being charged on a power bank
Bought the baton 3, can't stress how much i love it. Been carrying it everyday since
I carry a Gen. 1 S2R Baton everyday. I do also own a H2R but it's too easy to get it activated for my taste so it's relegated to my backpack.
My pick : 7
Keep up your excellent work!
I have roughly 40 lights and I EDC two lights... One on my person and a slightly larger one in my EDC pack. Out of all my lights it's Olight that I almost always grab. 😃
37, for this time around. Flashlights are great. Happy holidays!
I have the Olight i3E EOS and the Fenix E01 and I'd say the Fenix is a bit better, even though it's a bit larger. The reason for this is that the Fenix has three lighting modes (5 lm, 25 lm and 100 lm) while the Olight only has one (90 lm).

S2RII Baton is my all time EDC carry. Size to output is awesome imo.
The S1A is one of my favorites. I use a usb rechargeable AA. 36
Excited to own my own (first) compact edc flshlight
I love Olight! Great flashlights. My guess is 70.
I have a boatload of lights. All of the Seasons of the Olight Baton and their charging cases. The Olight Arkfeld is my favorite edc by far.
I've just got the Olight S1R Baton 900lm Compact Rechargeable after watching, killer deal from Olightstore UK. thx love the new setup great content.
I'll pick 50 to go with my R50 copper - one of 7 copper Olights I've accumulated. Great lights!!
I know this is a 6 yr old video but I just found out that most of these flashlights are reprogrammable by half clicking your button 5x then holding it down, so you can alternate the automatic turn on mode to high or low

I own the s2r baton ii I love it! I got it on the flash sale for 48$ Thanks for the video!
I watched this before I bought the S1R II Spring. I can't wait to get it. Thank you for posting! Great material.
Thanks for the making this I finally decided adding a small light to my edc
Flashlight content is needed for all people. Epsecially with a brand like Sofirn that's available fast on Amazon. Doesnt do the icky scammy lumen inflation to the 10th power. if they make it, its atleast not shitty. People who aren't torch heads, need this info.
I've got the I3T EOS in black. Would love that copper though...
My guess is...11
I'll go with 42. Olight is a good product! Great video!
I appreciate your flashlight knowledge and experience man. Great content. Thanks
@red pill nibbler I now have over 20 of their lights but my favorite ones for edc are the i3t and the s1r2.
I don’t like the side button versions. I sometimes can’t find the button immediately - I’ve tried aligning the pocket clip to the opposite side - but the clip rotates out of place. The only thing i really have against usb ports is that you cant charge the light if you power goes out. Which is a situation where a light would be super handy. ( i have plenty of power banks but i'd rather reserve those for my phone)
The Olight I5R EOS takes regular AA batteries too which is why I purchased as well😅
Awesome video this it’s going to definitely help me choose what flashlights I want for the holiday
I'd love to see you review some more value oriented lights instead of just olights. I would suggest the sofirn sc21 pro, the thrunite archer mini, and the wukkos fc11 as all very good edc flashlights in 3 different form factors. All of these lights should be availible for less that $30
I have to start by saying I hate you, I've bought 3 flashlights since I found your channel. Great videos, keep up the good work.
An olight is probably my next edc purchase so thanks for this. My guess is the number 11...
Yess!! I love flashlight videos! Might get one of the new lights in titanium during the flash sale tomorrow! My guess is 68
Fantastic Video! Fantastic Products! Thanks! S1R II Baton! That's What I'd Get! Hope They'll Go On Sale On Black Friday This Year 2021.
S1 mini Baton is my EDC flashlight. I have the model with the magnetic back cap you cant charge that way but it does stick to things really well, I have used it for car work stick it to the hood boom just a great tool
Hey Mod you forgot to mention that they have a lockout mode but that titanium looks sick my number is 22 😉
The Copper Olight i3t eos is Grail now.
Can’t find under $100 😩
Datman did you see the silver and gold i5t’s that China just got? AMAZING!!!
Larry White 😍
72. Olight flashlights are awesome for edc. Thanks for a review of all the main types of olight flashlights for holiday gifts.
Would love an updated EDC flashlight video!
I'm guessing 77
Good to have more info about flashlights when you're about to get one.
Best of luck!
This needs updated please!🙏🙏
Really want the copper I3T. However the black would make for a good blackout EDC piece. Have a hard time settling so I'll end up getting both. Might spring for a rechargeable version just because I lost my charge cable for my Olight pistol light.
Gotta go 76, and I have to say, I am kinda jealous that you have more Olights than i do.
My guess is 6. Keep up the good work! Thinking about picking up a few of these for black friday
I also pick the number 7 because that's my favorite number and the number of flashlights that you had on the table with you! Btw, my name is Peter
In an emergency and you need strobe, you need to press the button 3 times? Seems like a strobe would be quicker to access. I think one of my first Olights, you only had to press twice but my last two you have to press 3 times. Thanks for the video.
Where are they made? Nice informative video!
Awesome review! The magic number is 3!!
I've got a m1t raider that's missing the tail cap and I believe is burnt up. I've had it for close to 2 years now. Also got m31triton that doesn't work and 4 orb 186s35 batteries that don't work too. My x7 marauder got stolen 2 months ago.
I carry Odin, snaps on my EDC if needed. 45 thanks for sharing.
This is exactly what I was looking for, heard lots of great things about olight and was looking for a new light awsome!
Edit: I pick 21
Im going with 81. Fingers crossed

I have a few of these kind of lights but went back to carry double and triple A because they last longer
your videos are absolute bliss i love your work and keep it up and good luck in the future
44 of course it has to be that number. Thanks so much for all the thoughtful videos sir!
My guess is 22! Another amazing video
I hope they make an edc flashlight with at least 3 modes, high, medium & low with a tail clicky that runs on normal aa or aaa batterys. Also,it should be lens down in the pocket.
Just picked up one and I like! Question: does Turbo mode only work if you have a full battery?
All I want in an EDC flashlight is 4 things, one of them being optional:
1)small,or atleast pocket compatible
2)battery operated
3)The mega rare ability to turn ON and OFF.....no high, mid, low or strobe.
4)Copper(optional)
olight M1T Raider
Olight is just amazing till you have an issue with one or want to return one then good luck. They make you out to be a bad person because the light doesn't work . Might as well throw them in the trash if you have an issue , because that is where they belong.
Awesome comprehensive review on the flashlights! I think the number is 77.
A keep a S2R Baton ii as my "duty" light. I keep an I1R EOS on my keychain, and another on my backpack.
very good videos these. your presentation style is great, and I really enjoy watching them 😊
quality after quality, nonstop quality !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! great job !!! thank you.
Why couldn't you use eveready ultimate? They're 1.5V lithium, aren't they? AFAIK, the only batteries Olight doesn't recommend are 10440s.
Which brand is better, Olight, Nitecore, MecArmy, ThruNite or Klarus or other brands? Thnx for the video!
My guess is 6, great videos. I only start watching a short time ago but I found a lot of cool stuff that I've looking forward to getting for myself.
Ive bought two limited edition s1r, so sad i missed the sale. Could have saved $60 and bought the standard version as well :(
The s1r is the best edc hands down. Maybe the s2r is better for some but s2r has enough run time for edc.
No idea why someone would buy the other lights of similar size, unless budget of course.
I plan on buying atleast 3 other lights, just waiting for sale (r50, h1r OR h2r , s2r)
Would love a magnetic lamp dock charger mount for the s1r. Could use my s1r as a desk lamp and nightlight. And also a olight brand hat would be cool
100. Just got a s2r2. Great edc light and impressive run times .
It seems like an EDC with more tactical and emergency applications with its hotspot and longer throw than the S2R Baton.
my favorite EDC light is the fenix RC05
Awesome video. Thank you very much. Do you review Armytek lights?
What’s your very best suggestion for a light that’s a compact to medium size. A thrower. Well built/tough/will last long/good warranty. And a budget of around 60$-ish
Lucky! those olight are dope!more edc firearm reviews please.
7 is a lucky number please send that sweet olight lol
