Anyone skilled enough to decode your keys via a video is certainly skilled enough to just pick the locks. In the locksmith business, we would tell worried customers, "the only thing keeping me from you...is me".
In the event someone was able to impression your keys from video, a skilled locksmith would be inside drinking your coffee 😂.. That being said.. LOVE your content.
And I'd add that someone motivated enough to copy a key from video to come and either rob or harm you are probably going to do it anyway. Clearly not right in the head of they are thinking like that.
I highly recommend replacing your Zippo insert with butane. If you're not a smoker, you'll find Zippos tend to leak and be empty and dry when you need them most. Butane inserts not only remedy this, they also give you a windproof fire source. My main Zippo is a gold one, with a rattlesnake addition, (complete with a ruby eye), mounted on the outside of the case. It IS an official Zippo, but the snake was added in South Korea. Cool factor: 10 -Because no one will remember your BIC! 😎
Seconding this. It's a game changer. You also have some options for butane. Some have single button single action for orange or blue flame, some have a double action button that let's you swap blue to orange, and some are orange with the standard spark wheel so you don't ever have a spark component that will fail in time.
*might suggest replacing the duct tape with gaffers tape...much more sturdy and durable...i've repaired shirt pockets with it and the tape survived many trips through the washing machine and drier virtually unscathed*
Reason why I am skeptical about the magnetic key holder: some locks malfunction when the key is magnetized by items on the keyring. Took me a while to find out!
@@BestDamnEDC heh, too late today, but will grab one next drop if I can. Love these types of sling/fanny bags and with the Bum Bag price point, need to try it out and compare with others I've gotten - seems perfect. Appreciate the heads up, great vid!
You could always turn around the keyper. Keys on the loop, and use the shackle on the hook thing. Would make the keys dangle around and make noises though
My edc is super simple but one thing I never see in videos is a small keychain pill holder. I always have a few ibuprofen and allergy meds in mine. Keys are something I always have on me, and because someone is always having a head ache or the females having their cramps, i tend to replace the ibu often.
The company EDC Apparatus makes a very high end key disconnect that won't come undone at all. By far the best quality i have had.. Titanium and brass machined to very high spec. Very stout.
The problem with the bag is the interior as dark it should be light white yellow light green light blue something like that so that light bounces around inside and you can see the contents a dark interior makes it harder to see the contents
On one hand I kind of laugh at carrying all this stuff, the whole edc thing. But I'm guilty of getting into it pretty deep myself. I used to carry a bunch of things on me but now I just keep a Vanquest edcm maximizer in my car, for long trips, a Vanquest trident 21, both full to the brim with anything I could think of. This lets me keep my on the body carry as minimal as possible. Keys are my biggest pain mainly because I have my house alarm fob clipped on my leather key organizer. The fob isn't huge but adds bulk I wish I didn't have. Also keep an Aurora a3 light and a Victorinox classic SD in walnut on the same ring as the fob.
Wazoo Cache Belt. It's an awesome piece. I wear it every day loaded up with EDC gear plus some survival kit items. I'm in the woods a lot, so extra water purification and firestarters come in handy.
Flashlight is a streamlight microstream. They have a 2 modes. The tan one activates on high for the first setting (250 lumen)and then a second press goes to low mode(50 lumen). The black one is opposite-low mode first then high. I have the black usb rechargeable version. It’s a pretty good light. Only ~$30. They also make a 45 lumen only AAA version that is only about $15-20, and a 50 low/500high lumen version that is around $50.
@@zaysoactivated5698 Some people think the button press is a little bit too deep to get the light to activate easily. It’s simply remedied by taking a standard hole punch and punching a circle out of a piece of plastic, like an old gift card or the clear plastic clamshell packaging, and then installing that plastic circle in the switch. It shims the button just enough that it’s easier to activate, but not too easy. Also easy to remove it if you didn’t like it or were worried about accidentally activating the light. It’s a free easy mod that makes the light a little more user friendly.
Being half blind, a hard glasses case is a must ( sunglasses and clear). I've yet to find something that can accommodate with wallet keys knife lighter etc..
I had the same key issues; it took a long time before I found something that worked. My current, and most comfortable setup is a lot like what you show at the beginning of the video. I use a leather belt loop with a nitize welded ring, a Ti swivel, a Ti keysmart mag-connect, and the Ti keysmart key holder. They are all interconnected with super strong small stainless split rings. Basically, the keysmart hangs from my belt, into a front pocket along the back seam. It deploys smoothly, my pocket supports none of the weight, and it is low bulk. It worked so well, I duplicated the same setup for the other pocket, so I can carry my flashlight and bullet pen the same way. I show it in my edc video if you want to see what I am talking about. Yeah, keys are such a pain...
Your link to the Urban Carvers Keyper does not have the same key-carrier design as you show in the video. Do you know if the version you show is available? I like it.
Amusing to find that a product made in the US of A has a very British name - the Bum Bag. We here have called those waist/"fanny" pakcs that since 1990 at least.
Instead of the $12 glow stick, I use a $6 glow in the dark collar tag for dogs and cats. They come in various shapes and they’ll engrave my phone number and email on them so there’s a chance they’ll be returned if I lose them. Most pet stores sell them, as does Amazon
Urban carvers keeper need to put in an elastic band to prevent the keys from falling off. The problem is in its design. Any kind of Magnetic thing can fail. If it's a strong magnet, it won't come off easily. If its too weak, it will fall off even with your hands swaying when you're walking.
