Nice fish!! Congrats!😊
The Gospel of John, when you're ready, friend!🔥
New subscriber here just need to say that this is by far the best fly fishing channel on RUclips. Surprised it took this long to find this channel but im glad I did. Story telling meets fly fishing with no pretentious BS involved.
Well said!
Wow. I'll take the very generous compliment. Thanks a lot and I'm glad you enjoy my videos!
Definitely my most favorite and most productive spring creek.
crushing it, sick vid brothah
Thank you for watching!
Another classic! This channel is going to take off!
haha "Classic" I like that! I appreciate the support and optimism. Thanks for watching!
Phew. Some gorgeous fish here man. Wow! Great intro and cool stream! Loads of action and fish willing to play for the camera. Very nicely done. Getting lethal with your nymphing!
Appreciate the support and compliments as always Mike!
Incredible little stream, producing some big browns.....and you proved in that new simple baetis/brown fly. A successful day for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!
Thanks Chuck! Nice looking fish on a great looking creek. They are doing some impressive bank restoration there as well.
haha Yeah for sure! Thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Another great video there, nice to see everything come together for you! Great job connecting with the fish!
Thanks a lot and thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Dang...good job euronymphing up a bunch of wild browns!! Good stream!! Good video! Tightlines!
Thank you for watching and tight lines as well Craig!
Love that stream!
Fun day playing with the fish. Thanks
Yes it was. Thanks for watching!
Again great vid. A great looking stream also no bs approach to the sport ..hats off to ya
Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed.
Absolutely awesome little stream!!!! Some nice brownies in there as well! 🎣💦
Thanks for watching Owen!
I’ve fished this stream about 5 times and never had any luck, all I do is euro nymph. Glad to see you’re doing well!
That's alright man. Just keep improving and I'm sure it'll all come together for you. Thanks for watching!
Great looking stream. I love the mono rig. I switched over two years ago and like it better.
Yeah it's definitely a game changer, that's for sure.
Nice fishing! Interesting water with the flood walls and old factory retaining walls running the length of your walk. I can see why you had a fair share of snags and rig wrecks! Lots of obstacles to navigate. Tons of fish!
Yeah it's a tricky little stream. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Beautiful fish. It sure must be nice to catch 40 plus fish. Also editing is very handy option.
Thank you! I'm not sure what you mean for the editing part though?
@@Brownsylvania you mentioned how many times you were snagged and we didn't see it. I was trying to be funny didn't work.
Oh I gotcha! haha I thought it sort of had something to do with that.
As always a fun video to watch. I always learn a thing or two watching your videos. What size Amnesia are you using and do you taper down to your tippet ring?
Thanks for watching! Glad you find value in my videos. I'm currently using 10lb Amnesia and no it does not taper.
I've fished this creek with a buddy of mine before and I forget its name!!!! Very frustrating because it was so great when we went...
Great video! What size mm beads are using for your flies?
Thank you!
Size 18 - 2.3mm
Size 16 - 2.8mm
Size 14 - 3.3mm
Size 12-10 - 3.8mm
Size 10-8 - 4.6mm
To clarify the regulation, I contacted a high ranking official in the PFBC and posed the question to him. He confirmed the 18ft max leader length has been removed from the regulations and that a fisherman is within the law if 1) using a fly rod and reel. 2) using a "fly" as defined. 3) and in a traditional manner. ie: No spinners etc added to the leader.
So, You're good!
Yup! For sure. I'm glad they got rid of that regulation, but to be honest I don't fish FFO sections often anyway.
@@Brownsylvania guess i don't have to make that call now. Lol. Thanks for that info.
Great vid, I appreciate when you go back over little tips and pointers. Was wondering if youre fishing a floating line and if you have a go to euro leader formula?
Thank you! I have a video explaining my setup here: ruclips.net/video/MWQlFI-btDk/видео.html
Basically it's just backing > Amnesia > tippet ring > tippet
@@Brownsylvania must have missed it when i sifted through your vids, sorry bout that, thanks for the link!
All good. No worries! I plan on doing an updated version of my rig sometime soon. You're welcome!
What are the rules with rear round trout fishing in pa is it just catch and release, certain streams, have always wondered, with seeing lots of videos in fishing in the off season
In the simplest terms as long as you're doing catch and release you can fish anywhere year round except for stocked trout streams March 1st through the opening day of trout season in April.
That looks like a really fun stream! Great outing man.
Thanks! It definitely is a fun stream.
Great video man, what's your set up including the red line. TIA
Thank you! It's just backing > 50ish feet of Amnesia > tippet ring > tippet
Here's a video I did on it about a year ago: ruclips.net/video/MWQlFI-btDk/видео.html
Great day!! I tried the amnesia in 15#, don’t love it .. I think it still had memory and kept coiling up on things. I might need to give it some time. Your line seems like it has no memory!!
Thanks! Are you new to the mono rig or tight lining? I usually give my line a good stretch before I start to keep it coil free.
@@Brownsylvania I learned to tight line over 20 years ago. I’m learning all the euro components and I’m particular about my gear and I don’t like the leaders Iv tried so far. I didn’t like the amnesia but it was brand new, I stretched it 3 times with leather that day. It worked I slayed the fish but didn’t like the way it handled. I have another set up I’m going to try now. Keep hammering em!! I’d like to know how you find all these brown trout streams? And make heads or tales out of the pa regulations!! They are clear as mud!!
Sorry just see your set up
Could you list the materials for your baetis pattern? Is that yellow PT and rusty thread body?. thanx
Here is the baetis nymph video: ruclips.net/video/jelLO24O5bg/видео.html
The materials are also listed in the description. The brown version was rusty thread and wood duck mallard flank.
Thanks Chuck and love all your vids!!
You're welcome!
Is that a fly fishing only area youre fishing? I only ask because i thought pa had a 18' max leader length in FFO sections. Does mono setup count as "flyline" or technically leader because its mono. Just asking because id like to try it on my local FFO project water but dont wanna get nabbed. The Pa laws summary book is kinda unclear on this. It used to say specifically 18' leader but now it just says flyrod, flyreel, flyline and leader only.
This is not a FFO section. They have changed the length restriction. I'd say you could probably use this rig in a FFO, but I'm not 100% on that. I probably would now that they changed the length restriction. If you're worried though just add fly line to my rig formula and you'll be in compliance with all of their wording.
unless specifically stated then to my knowledge the length regulation does not apply. For example on Spring Creek in Fisherman's Paradise it specifically states SPECIAL REGULATIONS - leader less than 18' so it has to be stated.
I'm curious if that's because they haven't updated the signs there though because the online regs used to state 18' leader as well and they don't anymore. Also you think they'd give a list of streams that still have the leader length restriction in place.
@@Brownsylvania yea but the signs stapled to the trees seem to be fresh.
The only leader limit I am aware of only applies to FFO-CR sections which are what less than 1% of PA waters?
§ 65.14. Catch and release fly-fishing only.
(2) Fishing shall be done with tackle which is limited to fly rods, fly reels and fly line with a maximum of 18 feet in leader material or monofilament line attached. Spinning, spincast and casting rods and reels are prohibited.
Where did you find that at? I just read the 2021 Summary Book for FFO CR regulations and it doesn't say anything about an 18ft leader. I just think those signs were put up before the regulation changed or they put new ones up not knowing the wording changed.
Venice comments in the video.
It looks like you are doing a strip set. Would you comment on that
It's definitely not a strip set, but I can try and talk through how I set the hook in future videos.
That’d be great thanks
