  • Last June, Kia delivered their most powerful performance EV of the time: the EV6 GT-Line AWD. It was a blast with its dual-motor AWD, 320 horsepower, and 446 lb-ft. of torque. Pairing AWD with instantaneous electric torque meant 0-60mph runs of 4.7 seconds were easy and repeatable...but that was not enough for Kia. Today we introduce you to the fully-caffeinated version of the 2023 Kia EV6 GT. This dual-motor AWD version has 576 horsepower, 545 lb-ft of torque, and can run 0-60 in 3.4 seconds! That is Blue-Check-Verified quicker than a Ferrari or Lamborghini!!! (IN A FAMILY CAR)
We lived with this GT for a week to bring you our top 5 likes and dislikes of the most powerful Kia ever produced... and let me tell you, we had to nit-pick a little to fill the list.

I ordered this vehicle ,knowing the range, and now have driven a 58 KW cupra born on 1200KM road trips with a less range several times , No issues at all. and that does not charge as fast as a Ev6.
so range: its all based on your charging infrastructure, and there is where Western europe shines, Germany, Netherlands , Sweden, Norway, Austria,
no need for all these concerns.
30K KM ( 20K miles) in 4 months speak books. In winter a realistic range of 250-270 KM , and stil no sweat on these regular road trips.
and yes that car only has manual seats as well, and after switching from automatic seats on my family van, I did miss it for a minute, but hey, i set my seat once and forget about it.
its MY car, and if someone else wants to drive it the better have my size :-) (or lack thereof)
I do miss the ventilated seat option though. , but honestly, I wil need that 2 months a year only. and will just up the ac settings a bit. Heatesd seats is mor what my old back needs.
but yeah driving 200+KM/h on the german highway migh bring some sweat to some passengers..
thatnks for your thoughts, I think teh US in general needs to work on its HPC infrastructure to offset the range concerns. If you know you can charge on HPC Craher every 30KM (20M) and be gong 20minutes later, you WILL find it enjoyable to have a pee brake and strectch your leggs a minute sor so ( at least I do)

Nice review, but the comparison to the Genesis GV60 Performance doesn't land for me. That one comes in at almost $70k once destination is accounted for, and has ~150 fewer HP and only ~30 miles more range. I'm sure the interior fit and finish is nicer, but the comparison isn't exactly apples to apples.

No, it’s not exactly apples to apples. But we had one here, on the channel, for only $5k more and it was more than fast enough for what we would need it for. We’ve been in many EVs. The fast ones, once the novelty of the crazy acceleration wears off (which it does even in our week of living with them), just seem to lack anything past “I’m fast”. That GV60 backed it up with a cabin you’d want to be in at a price of over $60k

@@GTGarageTalkGoing fast will never wear off on a car guy like me. 😊 Getting a super fast car isn't for everyone though but I do see a lot of Performance Telsas around so it's a a little bit popular I would say. Yeah the downside is range but like what the OP said it just depends on your location. In the US we will be getting access to the Tesla charges as well so this will be awesome. When I got my GT it was about everything else as well like the adaptive suspension. It's smooth enough even at my older age. The GT isn't that much more than the GT line so to me it was worth the price and downgrade for it. I will get my power and vent seats for my other car. 😊
Edit: Also I drove the GV60 as well. I do like the inside of it but the back is super ugly imo. I also didn't like the dual windows in the back as well. It's less roomy as well. I would rather get the E GV70 instead but the one I want is $75K which is more then what I wanted to spend on a small 5 seater. BTW I only got my GT recently for $50K so for that price it's a steal. I'm loving it so far and I know I will for years to come.
