    Holy carp, I missed Furiosa's family name given to the mothers...she came from a cop ancestor!
    That puts a real twist in her relationship with max and her character, I sure hope they use that in the new Furiosa spin off of MM! Thanks man!

    One small think I've noticed on my latest rewatch of road warrior is that the rendezvous for the refinery refugees and pappagallo, powder river is very similar to where the war boys found max in fury road, powder lakes.

    • @MadMaxBible
      @MadMaxBible  Год назад +5

      That's true! Also both those locations are not real, but seem to be rather a general term for 'dried up'. Originally George Miller wanted to shoot Mad Max 2 on a salt lake perhaps indicating the rafinery was built on a dried out lake/ocean. So the idea of dried out bodies of water was there since MM2, it was obviously is in MM3 and in Fury Road there are 'powder lakes' and the entire Plains of Silence are the receded ocean that Max was planning to drive out into.

    I really enjoy the details you find and the untold back stories, my biggest questions about the Mad Max world mostly come from "Beyond Thunderdome', like what happened to the the Waiting Ones after they moved to Sydney, what happened to the ocean and where did it go- as seen in the final shots of Beyond Thunderdome you see a shot from under the Sydney Harbor Bridge and from the angle of that shot you would be under water implying there is no longer water in the harbor. Perhaps one of the most strangest things I would love to know the back story to is where did Max come across and befriend a trained monkey

    i think its cool how they sort of reprised the idea of old May, the old woman with leg braces who threatens Toecutter with a shotgun coming back in Fury Road as Miss Giddy, an old lady with leg braces threatening Immortan Joe with a shotgun. Or even the scene where Toecutter says to Jessie ‘what if you were to lose the face?’ and then Immortan Joe, well, loses his face.

      Thank you! I'm not that much into video games. I could review some of them as far as Mad Max goes but I'm really focused on what was going on behind the scenes with the movies. I have to apologize for the lack of new videos though. Those take time. The reason I'm making them is because I would not be granted rights to publish a book. So I opted to making those videos instead, with information that would not really be approved by movie studios. I do have a lot more prepared down the line. Be patient, they're coming!

    5:53 this version of max's car vaguely reminds me of the Gigahorse too. mostly because of all the pipes and shit coming out in the front of the car.
    probably just a coincidence since the exposed pipes in the Gigahorse are meant to resemble Immortan's mask and the skull symbol, but everything is possible when it comes to mastermind George Miller.

Its Full of offshoot stories and back stories you could make many cross over vids from Mad Max to Fury Road . ..I watched Fury Road in a Burmese Cinema so being Australian I really got a sense of cultural The Fury Road movie really caught me by surprise as did the carry on of the other pieces from the original storyline.The imagery and script were all faithful to that original movie it was so well put together but I think u need to be a fan to notice alot of the stuff he put in .Make some more vids my man as it's perfect for your project

    Yeah, Mad Max series does feel like Miller is refining the same movie over and over sometimes and in a way he is. For example, that camera shot when War Rig gets crashed is the exact shot Miller planned for the big crash in The Road Warrior (the camera being placed in front), only then it couldn't have been done since it was a safety issue so he did it again in Fury Road.

    An update: Dementus prominatly features in Furiosa as its villain; he was breefly mentioned in the 2015 Mad Max game, additionally a scene that would eventually be used in the film can be seen in the level Dementus' Tomb. There's also a reference to Dinki-Di when he calls Furiosa his daughter.
    In the 'History of Dog' video it's mentioned Dog was originally going to be three-legged, a la Max and his leg brace, and named Trike, it was abandoned for fears volunteers would cut off their dogs' legs; In 2024's Furiosa a dog with a CG prostetic leg can be spotted when the Kenworth enters the Bullet Farm. IT'S TRIKE, making his -sort of- debut.
    Remember GiggleHorse from "vs REALITY" video? A vehicle with a similar premise(pre-war Chevy body on a chassis) appears in Furiosa, Cranky Black, itself using the Tatra War Rig's second hood scoop.

    Want to know where Miller got the idea of Captain Walker from and the language the children speak? Check out Riddley Walker by Russel Holban. I have the book. It was written in 1980 before Thunderdome. Its a post apocalyptic future where everyone has gone back to speaking in a medieval kind of way, making up new words from our words. The whole book is written in this new language. And if you read the book and look at the timeline of when Thunderdome was written and made Miller clearly lifted it for the second half of the film.

    • @MadMaxBible
      @MadMaxBible  Год назад +1

      That is absolutely correct! I made a whole video about what inspired George Miller to make Mad Max movies. And the part about Riddley Walker was... let's just say they weren't very candid about where they got that idea from.

    hey there, big fan
    I have an interesting question for you... What I think makes fury road so good, is that the world and the story are so thought-trough and beautifully created. Miller literally had 40 years to think of how everything would work
    So my question is if 'The Waistland" can be as good as fury road? Do you think it can be, because the world is established and the story can be written in 2 years? Or are you frightened (like me a bit) that they will have to rush it and dont have time to create everything so detailed?
    I'd love an answer, mabye even a video? :P

    • @MadMaxBible
      @MadMaxBible  6 лет назад +14

      The script for The Wasteland was written around the same time they wrote Fury Road and refined a little after Fury Road came out. From my understanding The Wasteland will be a very different movie, very bleak. I'm afraid that it will be a rehashing of the story that we already saw in the Mad Max#1 and #2 comic books, because The Wasteland takes place about a year before Fury Road. They won't have to rush the script writing process because it's all done and it's just sitting on a shelf, unless Miller wants to refine it a little bit more, so I wouldn't worry that the movie is going to be bad. It's definitely going to be different though.

      Now we can only hope that Warner bros stop being dicks and pay Miller the money they owe him. The deal was for a $7 million bonus that they promised him for bringing the film under budget for $150 million which they did. Now Warner went and welched on the deal. Miller has every right to sue them. You don't go back on your word. It's about the principle.

      In the early scripts for MM2, Humongous was supposed to be the Goose (which would have made sense since we are told in the Preamble that lots of MFP cops went rogue and joined the road gangs) but apparently the idea was dropped because the first movie didn't do well in the US and so the resurrection of the Goose would have confused audiences there.

    to tell you the truth, I've seen enough George Miller documentaries and even worked for him on Babe 2, George likes to take a lot of drugs and come up with fantastic ideas, unfortunately he doesn't realize that a lot of them are ideas that he heard sometime ago when he wasn't getting "creative".

    • @MadMaxBible
      @MadMaxBible  2 года назад +1

      Interesting, it's all conjecture but I've read an interview with Mel Gibson from way back where he said that George Miller came up with Mad Max 2 after taking drugs and watching Kurosawa's films. There's also stories of George and his writers getting themselves into the hypnagogic state to come up with new ideas but I haven't heard anything about him coming up with ideas solely because took a lot of drugs.

    First one is the best the sequals all feel like one film more cars and explosions doesn't make for a better film simple just means your going for spectacular Rather than a good story the sequel jumped to.fare ahead and should have stayed with max as an I am Legend around the city's fighting to regain order with any one willing to join his cause along the way to much is skipped or bearly tuched on

    I recently watched a video about mad Max's timeline ..🤔
    And after much thought.. I think I'm going to agree with others that Tom Hardy's portrayal as max .. is actually in fact the feral kid.. 😲
    He's taken Max's identity as this is his idol..
    Watch fury road.. it's all there.
    Bring Mel back in the sequel to fury road.. and leave fury road as a spin off almost.
    Mel's mad Max could even make an appearance in the furiosa spin off?? Looking for the feral kid??..
    Come on George miller!! 🤗
    You can do this!!!...

      8 month old comment but oh well. No. The idea Fury Road Max is the feral kid makes no sense.
      It would require the kid at some point, though narrating the end of road warrior and never mentioning it, to split or separate from the group. Then he has piece back together a near perfect replica of the car, including original front panel which he would have never seen. Then piece together Max’s outfit. That’s quite an odd use of time and resources to collect and recreate a custom V8 interceptor. (Is that why he failed to save the little girl? Because he was running away with a body panel?)
      And he had to find out somehow Max was a cop and then include that in the opening narration of Fury Road, along with mentioning about the world falling apart which he wouldn’t have really known.
      He’d also have to acquire a flashback of a woman saying, “ Woman: (VO, whispering) Max Rockatansky…” which would require him also learning Max’s last name.
      Then he has to make it back, build his northern tribe, so he can narrate road warrior.
