So in case anyone wants to know, the way to counter the Valkyries' blinding move is to turn around. I guess it makes sense, but I don't know how you're supposed to figure that out. I only found out by watching no damage boss fights.
You can also shoot her down with your axe iirc

In case you don't know the reason the trolls are reused so much for bosses is due to the game having many budget cuts due to this game actually having a rocky development process and the game sorta being the saving grace for Santa Monica Studios due to the development company failing a different IP so there was supposed to be much grander and better bosses, however because this game was such a success, Ragnorok has alot of budget so it should have far more unique bosses

this was my first ever god of war game cos I never had consoles for it originally but my friend trolled me into thinking playing "give me god of war" would give me a trophy so I did that, haven't beaten valk queen on it way too hard for my scrubby ass 🥲😂

i just bought me a GoW special edition playstation for that game and played it on highest difficulty, i think the valks was my favorite achievement i ever had after i had arround 150 attemps on the last valk

Dude, when I finally beat the Valkyrie Queen I was filled with such a dopamine rush. I had never felt more accomplished in my skill in that game. Her and the valkyries are a true test of how good you are at God of War. Ripping their wings off after the torment is just icing on the cake

Getting my ass handed to me by all the previous Valkyries like minimum of 20 times each clearly paid off because when I finally got the Queen all the special moves that they pull out were seared into my brain, beat her on the first try and I fuckin screamed. Probably one of my favourite gaming memories.

Ik I had to find the best way beating her and the best way was mostly using my weapons abilities not the weapon itself for damage but also using the rage revive so I can throw boulders for dmg.
Ohohoho tell me about it. On give me god of war difficulty, one hit from her and its over. After 4 days of not giving up and memorising all counters to her abilities, the adrenaline rush got to me so bad. If this had multiplayer i swear i would ve been a god at it.

I am obsessed with the idea of Kratos being miserable throughout the entire game, then seeing some frogs and feeling true joy for the first time since Faye died
I remember trying to beat the first Valkyrie for 12 hours straight. Didn’t work so I completed the next story section. And then I returned to the dungeon almost with the same stats and beat the Valkyrie on the third try. Scripts in this game are insane

Fun fact: If you thought that the valkyries are already hard and give you nightmares then you will probably hate the Game if you start new Game plus. Especially on the hardest difficulty because almost every enemy especially the valkyries get a lot more moves and attack much faster.

Yeah, my second play through of GOW at max difficulty made me really, really hate the encounter with Gondul. In the video she does the flying attack just once, but at max difficulty she can do it 5 or 6 times in a row. Amazing.

This was the best kirin break and we got to hear different versions of zannys laugh thanks to his family. All identical but different must run in the family
I felt so proud of myself when I finally beat all the Valkyries, they give a dope armor, but yeah never again, one lifetime of agony was enough
I laughed out loud when he saw Gondul and went right back down the ladder 🤣.
God I felt that ending so much. Having to say out loud exactly what you have to do next. And then getting mad at yourself for getting too greedy with the attacks

while I dont want to undermine anybody's efforts in the bosses, any valkiry flying attack (exept the ice shard barrage) can be interrupted with atreus, doesnt matter if it a blind aoe, a ring attack or anything else, the moment u see the valkiry take off shoot with atreus and she'll fall. it works on sugrun too.
Or axe throw. Although it's kinda risky, shooting with Atreus is much safer since you could still hold block.

I beat the game multiple times and I've now stacked all of my skills and stats. I'm going to replay the whole game again but in the hardest difficulty (god of war) a few days before ragnarok comes out so that things will be fresh in my mind! This game is just too good that you can't help but visit it even after you've already unlocked or discovered everything!
I used to speedrun ng+ stack. Got to just under 5h glitchless. Over 500 runs gathering all the dew of ygddrasil in gmgow. never 1st tried sigrun tho. After my 1st try off malenia in elden ring i think i got to try more gow
God of war difficulty against the Valkyrie queen made me want to kms

@@walx274 Yep, which is exactly why I made sure to max out all of my stats first. Beating Sigrun (or any valkyries) at normal difficulty alone already gave me heartburn 🥲🥲
I’ve played through Dark souls 1 and 3, Sekiro, Bloodborne, and now Elden Ring and I gotta say beating the Valkyries in God of War was still the best feeling I’ve gotten from beating a “boss”.
It’s so damn satisfying after learning everything they can throw at you and the fluidity of the combat just makes you feel so powerful but also careful and strategic. Can’t wait for some really challenging bosses in Ragnorak!
I started playing this game as my first ever God of War last month and it has been an amazing experience, and yes those Valkaries are a true challenge but so satisfying to beat, like the combat in this game is like you're inside a Viking movie so cinematic and awesome, after beating the game days ago I raised the difficulty to Give me a challenge and now I'm grinding Niflheim and Musphelheim and it's challenging as fuck but so fun. Can't wait for Ragnarok
But most Valkyries are cheap. Never liked them and imo, they definitely don’t measure up to soulsborne bosses
@@DurpyKraken yeah the soulsborne bosses are definitely more interesting in terms of lore and character design but very few are satisfying to beat in my opinion. Honestly Sekiro has the most satisfying boss fights to date for a soulsborne game. Genichiro is definitely a highlight for me.

For those who don't know how to counter the Valkyries' blinding attack, you just need to throw your axe at her face, this will stop her before she completes the attack, works every time. You can even disrupt some red warning (attacks that you can't block) attacks by throwing the axe at the correct time. TMYK.
you can also "dodge" the blinding attack by literally turning around (pressing the down button)

He kills Ares with the giant golden bridge sword, Athena, Gaia and Kronos with the Blade of Olympus, he rips Hade's soul with his own claws, Pummeled Hercules with his own Cesti and of course, the great classics, he f***ing murders Helios, Zeus, Hera and Poseidon with his bare hands. The only Gods Kratos kills with the chains are... I guess just Hermes? That's it? Kind of weird when you think about it.

You never mentioned it so I'll assume you don't know: there's a place called "council of Valkyres " where you have to bring their helms. Bring all 8 and you'll get a big reward!
The place is at Midgard's centre, you should be able to see the circle in your map.

Tip for valkyries when doing the blind attck thing just turn around, staff is smashing in the ground toss the axe when hearing volhalia give them 2 seconds then dodge.
The dodge needs to be quicker on GMGoW/+.

19:32 Killing the Valkyrie there restores all your meter and you can interrupt some of there air attacks by throwing your axe and the Deadly Mist armor is pretty good armor
For anyone struggling with the valkeryies, for your talisman use the Amulet of Kvasir. It slows down time for a couple of seconds when you do a last-second dodge. Once you get the hang of that, every single boss you encounter becomes 10x easier because you’re able to throw in quite a bit of combos within those couple of seconds. You’ll literally feel like a God of War when you’re able to pull it off.

I actually enjoyed most of the Valk fights. Whenever I got blinded, I just endlessly rolled around until I could see again. Beating the Queen was one of the greatest gaming moments I've ever had.
You can just turn around instead if you want to avoid getting blinded.

@@josefzalusky7307 If they had an enemy earlier in the game that forces you to look away to avoid getting blinded, then it would have been fine.

same , elden ring is my first souls like game but I would say I already got a taste of souls like games by beating the queen ,defeating her felt so liberating .
