I agree totally as a long term iPhone user since my first iPhone 4 & switching every two years and being constantly disappointed with the lack of zoom not to mention the lack of phone customisation I switched to a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra last week & I love it
Yeah I switch iPhones every 4-5 years so to me it’s drastically better. Just went from the X to the 13 pro max 2 days ago. Literal night and day difference. But for people who switch every year to 2 years, definitely not going to get much from it
thank you for this, ive been looking into these two because through at&ts new promotion they're exactly the same price. Ive been a long time apple user, never considered switching until now and hearing other people say they enjoy the switch makes it even more tempting.
@@pHixiq switching every five years is a good idea with iPhones as they only do incremental upgrades to the phone each year. I think the iPhone 16 would be a huge improvement over my 12 pro max that I used to have before switching to the s22 ultra.
I have the Samsung Galaxy S 22 Ultra. Will not give the Iphone a shot until:. The notch is gone, has at least a 10x optical zoom, revamp of IOS and a more open eco system. I like freedom to choose. What Samsung needs to change: Better video, don't become like Apple (like restricting the Galaxy watch to only work with your product) and figure out why your raw power cannot beat the iphone in smooth performance.
More open ecosystem lol, android when compared to apple doesn’t even have an ecosystem. If you have used an iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and AirPods Pro’s you would NEVER go back. It’s beyond amazing how tightly everything integrates.
@@0x29aNull Glad you and a few people can afford all that super expensive stuff. I love choice. Unfortunately Samsung is starting to do the same thing.
i got the s22 ultra last week. what a beast. Awesome camera, love the S pen and yes and am using it more and more as i get used to finally having a phone with a stylus. I couldnt be happier especially when it was $900 on prime day!
I bought the 13 promax over the Samsung for lots of reasons including resale value and longevity but let me tell you the software has really fallen behind like you said there's absolutely no advantage to having a larger iPhone
I agree with you here. But that support for a longer lasting phone along with the resale value will always have me choosing the iPhone from now on. I tried to switch to the Pixel Pro 6 and that went terribly.
@@kidjiujitsu yeah the previous pixel launch didn't seem to go so well, Samsung really is probably the poster boy for Android. I Carry two phones 1 android 1 iphone daily and the software is really outstanding and honestly it's only my iphone that randomly freezes or locks up occasionally. At least apple did fix the reception problems by moving back to Qualcomm because for a while there the Intel modems where pretty poor. But yeah I agree I always buy a new iphone outright and my Android is normally a 1-2 year old model s20-s21 something like that.
On that note, when Samsung announced the S22 series, they had a trade in program, which I traded my Note10+ in and got $640 for it. And got the S22 Ultra So never mind the resell value, if im getting $640 off my next phone, thats fine with me. Unless you want to go another brand or use the money for something else then your point is valid
@@Cazwhin no I agree if the phone costs less than the resale value can be negligible, actually I wanted the s21 ultra when I bought my 13pm but the ultra was actually more expensive in October than it was when first released and I just couldn’t do it.

@@theblip6950 At least in my experience, there's been a huge step up in quality in Snapchat and Instagram! Snapchat now takes photos and videos of similar quality to the native camera app while supporting all 4 focal lengths on the back camera. Instagram only supports up to 3x zoom, but it does use the telephoto for it and quality is similar (though not as good) as the native camera and Snapchat. IDK about TikTok because I don't use it, but supposedly it's been optimized
GREAT comparison. This was a difficult decision for me but ultimately chose the s22 ultra. The Versatility won me over. @@mikereslinger607 Dumbest thing I heard. The curved EDGES on the screen (curved screen is what i.e LG G4 and G Flex had..) are very small and only helps with ergonomics. And you will rather keep the iPhone witch is much more uncomfortable to use.... Haha. Each have their taste I guess🤷♂️😅
@@Mdogbrown And the edges have barely been noticable for the last years since they are MUCH smaller than it was in the beginning. No, the side menu is avaliable anyway. It's mostly ergonomics and it results in less borders. Screens with edges like this has actually been proven to be stronger. And a flat screen is just as exposed. Very obvious you have no experience with this. I have had both flat and curved edges.. Never broken one with curved edges yet. I.e I had the Galaxy S7 (flat) and when the screen broke I got the S7 edge. The edge took a slightly bigger drop with the screen down than the flat S7 did. The edge survived with no cracks. And also IF it breaks i.e by landing on the side then the curved edges can bery likely stop the rest of the screen cracking. And yeah.. You do find cases with a little raised side edges like on the top and bottom. I even have that on my old Note 10+...🤦♂️🤦♂️ So that is old.

How timely can your video be! I was wrecking my head the decision to either buy a Ultra or Max, I've always enjoyed using androids but was thinking of switching over to an iPhone now but I'm going to stick to what's always been going for me and go for the Ultra. Thank you!!
Thanks for actually choosing a phone... Tired of those "it's up to personal preference" BS we always get from other videos. With that said, both great phones, but you just get much more with the S22 Ultra. Phone of the year already, trust me.
Best phone is very subjective. For me, many of the stuff people praise the S22U for are irrelevant (10X zoom and s-pen) so it boils down to the rest and overwhelmingly that favours the iPhone for me. These include, longer software support, best performance, more battery life, Face-ID, ecosystem, videography, efficiency, optimisation, better apps, security and privacy, etc. Many of these are not for spec-chasers, but the iPhone is def greater than the sum of its parts for those that appreciate these metrics. But as I said it is about choice.
@@andyH_England "Subjective....overwhelmingly....best....more......better...def greater....it is about choice." Your biased words and I understand you. I hate Samsung and their greed (learned from Apple), but still nothing of what you listed there does convince me to switch to iPhone, even if I would be right now ready to it. It might be better, but it's boring af. The stuff you call "irrelevant" (especially the ones you mentioned) makes actually the whole everyday experience so much more fun on Samsung..plus the USB-C which allows me to even plug my printer, external hard drive, Dex, plus the adblock on the browser, the split screen apps, customisation or the immense screen without a notch are things I think are totally relevant and I bet if they were on the iPhone too, you'd praise them too.
@@leofurda No device is perfect and of course, I will praise the iPhone when it does under display camera well. So pros and cons on each device and you have to make a choice, my point. You choose S22U, I choose iPhone 13 Pro Max and neither is wrong for either of us. So these comparisons are pretty meaningless as we all value different metrics and there is no right or wrong assuming no bias. I have both devices so I can speak reflectively as I have best of both worlds.
@@andyH_England I have a Note20Ultra, not S22U. I don't choose it. Actually I find the prices and trade-in programs absolutely disgusting in Europe, especially considering the Exynos variant. They try to explain it's the same thing, but in South Korea they have Snapdragon variant, so it's a whole disgusting contradiction. So no, never again. I wish all people stopped buying and youtubers talked more about the problems than the features that are not even to praise at that price, so that Samsung will be forced to lower the price and listen more to the customers.
@@leofurda Yes, I read about trade-in prices in the US and wonder what Europe has done to Samsung to us being dumped on with the Exynos and to get trade-in prices which in many cases is below what you would get selling on eBay! I know the US market is important as it is nearly a monopoly and they want to kill off the competition, having broken LG and helped by Huawei being banned. But it does feel that we are being ripped off and I agree, and it is why I do moan a lot about Exynos as it seems Apple would get far more hate than Samsung gets if they did something like this. FYI Samsung uses Exynos as it saves them $100 per unit according to 2021 AGM.
Apple's customer base for high-end phones is 8 to 10 times the size of Samsung. With more coming over from Android every year. Take a look at the revenues for each company, not even close.

If your argument were they sell more budget phones, that no one ever discusses on RUclips. I'd agree. Apple doesn't even compete in the budget market. The real business of Samsung (2/3rds of their profits) comes from making components for other companies, Apple being their largest customer. Thus their R&D is spent serving the business to business market. Their R&D in the customer realm is paltry and the places where they have chosen to spend money have been abject failures like foldables.
Great comparison. @@costa_4764 If battery life is what's most important, then the iPhone 13 pro Max is an absolute beast. With all that said I absolutely love my S22 ultra. If you're a heavy user, your time will vary.
Just switched last week from my 13 Pro Max, previously owned an 11 Pro Max. This S22 Ultra makes me wonder why I even used an Iphone. I also don't understand all the talk about bad battery life and shutter lag (both things were keeping me from switching earlier) For me the battery is great, i finish the day with 30-40% where as with my 13 pro max I would finish closer to 50% somedays. I also have young kids and have been taking great pics of them while moving and have no issues. Definitely never using an Iphone again
I'm on the S22 (regular version) & i'm also baffled by the claims of poor battery-life. I always keep it (OS & most apps) in dark mode (mainly personal preference over concerns for battery drain), & tweak a few background settings so some items aren't continuously draining power (like setting the finger print sensor to only scan when I double tap the display & not scanning 24/7) & also get excellent battery life. I end most days of moderate use with at least 30% left, sometimes with enough to keep me going until lunchtime the next day. I think some people just mindlessly repeat what they hear online.

As a person who's using both currently. I honestly cannot say this is better than that but i could say they both excel in everything. And each has its ups and downs. For me personally i use the ultra more cause android is just better in multitasking and faster to use.
I agree with you a lot. I was actually contemplating whether to get 13 pro max or s22 ultra back in February when Samsung unveiled the S22 series. (S22 ultra took a long time to ship and be available in stores). I must say the build of the 13 pro max shouts PREMIUM all over. It looks expensive just by its mere looks. But feature-wise, IMO it's just not for me. Im more of the galaxy guy. S22 ultra has DEX mode, USB C that can be plugged directly to the tv or monitor to watch a movie or play via emulator while connected to a playstation controller, easy file transfer to other devices especially windows, the S PEN (believe me, that S Pen is VERY HANDY. Just google S Pen features and you will know that im talking about), the insane zoom, the WQHD display (which makes people stare at the beauty of my phone when im commuting), the One UI features like multitasking, edge panels, it's got a lot to offer. The only downside I could think of is that the battery life usually lasts me 7 to 8 hours of Screen on Time (which is pretty decent, but not something to WOW me). Total usage including screen off time, it can last approx a whole day. Just charge once a day. If ever you fall short of batt for the day, a 30 min. quick charge is enough and you're set for until tomorrow. I hope they optimize it better in S23 series or via future updates.

Yes, all wheel drive. You hit it on the nail. I went from iPhone 6S plus for many years until it got damage. I wanted an iPhone 11pm I but it was more expensive to get it initially with $500 down payment so I went with note10plus. I was pleased by the big screen. Perhaps I had some buyers remorse after a while but started figuring out how androids function and it was getting fun. Then I got it wet and was damaged so I had to replaced it. And I did, with iPhone 13 pro max. I was happy but it took so long to get my hands on it. I eventually did. And then o dawn on me. Iphone was not fun to use. And I started missing my 10plus because how fun it was. I couldn’t charge it for some reason it said there was water in it and it just wouldn’t work. Fast forward to last week, out of curiosity I tried charging it and it worked. Now I’m using it don the side and right away I felt so good using this old phone. Only bad thing was the camera wasn’t as good as an iPhone pro max. Despite all that, I really want to go back to it but something happened to the motherboard. My big take away is that I’m ready to sell my 13 pro max as soon as I get my hands on s23 ultra next year. iPhone does not do it for me anymore.
As a consumer I appreciate that we have competitive brands and models from which to choose. I do wish though that more brands were up to sharing equal parts of the pie however. That competition keeps things honest and spurs innovation. While Apple makes a good product I do not care for the death grip they hold over their ecosystem. Going with Apple you are bound to only what's offered by them, other than some accessories. Great comparison, one that touched on more than just camera likes and dislikes.
I have the S22 ultra snapdragon variant. It's a beast. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I haven't had any over heating issues, stuttering or battery drain. The phone is a beast. I've been a note user for years. Last year had to settle for the S21 ultra-snapdragon variant. No complaints on that phone either.
Nice walkthrough. Agree with all of it, but you missed a big differentiator. I can't get over is the lack of high speed data download on the iPhone. These USB2.0 speeds in 2022 have got to improve. Data transfer on the iPhone is stuck in the 90s. There's no way to get the data off the phone quickly for post processing elsewhere. Samsung. Just hook up a portable SSD and copy and paste. 1GB files copied over in seconds and done. Much better workflow.
@@bardz0sz It's a feature a lot of android users like. A lot of us are more likely to copy photos back and forth via cable to a local storage device or copy music or books etc. Even then, it's zero excuse. I know plenty of iPhone users that complain about not being able to backup their phone to their Mac's in a reasonable time because they have a 512gb iPhone filled to the brim with shit and it takes forever with itunes and the slow ass lightning cable. IMO, it's not a feature that i care *too* much about. I have gigabit fiber and I just send everything I'll copy to my google drive (2tb cloud storage is REALLY nice) or copy directly from my PC via wifi since it still transfers faster than a usb 3.0 cable LOL.

I havent had an android since the Note 7 recall, so i move to apple. my phone i was using a few weeks ago was the iphone 11 pro max since launch. after 3 or so years i decided to try the S22 Ultra. Great Camera i would say that where the phone excelled. battery at work on wifi all day was about 7hrs of onscreen time to got home at 15%. Loved the camera but the battery was really lacking, android had almost become too complex like just tooo many options in the software. ended up returning it and getting an iphone 13 pro max in white 256gb. battery was god, i was getting like 9-10hrs of onscreen time with like 20-30 percent left when i got home. i had missed the Simplicity of the smart phone and my eco system of apple card, apple watch, MacBook pro and my ipad. I just Prefer apple now days at 42. but in my 20s and 30s u couldnt tell me nothing about android i was unlocking boots, putting customs rom on my androids for the Pure Google experience and those where the days of CyanoGen Mod lol.....
For those Android users like me who want to move over to the iphone, think again! My Note 20 Ultra is better at everything except battery life and night time videography. I was certain that my move to iphone was going to improve a lot of areas, and I did a LOT of research, but I really don't think it's worth the upgrade EVEN from a Note 20 Ultra, which is 2 years old.

Great video as always good sir and I agree with this comparison. I own both of these exact devices and colors and I honestly should have just kept my Iphone 11pm over the 13pm and waited for the 14pro line up as for me, I dont need the most poweful chip in a smart phone especially when its limited by its own OS. Put that "most powerful chip ever in a mobile device" to good use for the everyday man, outside of photography.
I switched over to the S22 Ultra because I got a killer deal on it from Best Buy back in July. I am a long time Apple Iphone user who just got bored using the Iphone. After owning the Apple 13 pro max and Samsung S22 Ultra, I prefer the S22 Ultra. The charging is faster, tweaking of everything in the Ultra 22 is better, camera is better and the hardware is better. Years ago, Apple used to won the smart phone market over Android but the technology is Android has improved greatly. Apple no longer owns a stronghold over the smartphone market with brands like One Plus, Samsung and others nipping away at their heels.

Primarily been a Note owner for the last 10 years. After the Note 20, I went to the 12 PM and I gotta say, the flat screen is my favorite feature of the iPhone. I'm soo tired of the curved screen gimmick and camera based phones. Both are great phones but ultimately, I went back to Samsung when the Fold 3 came out. I just wanted something different. Both companies flagship phones are too much like their predecessors now. Think I'll wait for the Fold 5 since the 4 is only incrementally better than the 3.
Truth is most samsung customers fail in utilizing the power they have. Most ppl dont deep dive the phone managing what's really being used.Delete unused and unneeded apps, set routines with Bixby and you will be surprised by battery life and phone speeds
I would have to disagree with the speaker going to S22 ultra. The 13 pro max has a lot more bass and sounds more crisp. The speaker in the ultra is nice, but doesn’t have that nice bass when watching movies, but the S22 ultra is a beautiful powerhouse phone.
I've been living with both of these phones for about 2 months now, as my job got a bunch of them and for some reason gave me both. Despite how many things the Galaxy is better at, I just find myself using the iPhone far more often. I prefer the weight and shape, the UI and gestures etc. And when I use the Galaxy, I rarely find myself actually wanting to use the multi-tasking capabilities... in fact, when it automatically multi-tasks, like putting a small box with Google Maps on the screen, I find myself closing it out more often than not. Also, when discussing one-handed use, I'm shocked by how many people ignore the iPhone's "Reachability" feature. It's such a simple, useful feature and I use it a LOT with this phone.
@@Joose Weird. Like even the settings on the iPhone are organized so bad. Just not enjoyable to use but maybe thats because I have always used an android device
@@Joose I’ve been a Samsung user my whole life and switched to a new 13 pro max and can’t wait to get out of it. Theres some features i like but in all reality the settings app is not intuitive what so ever. The auto screen brightness is not in the screen settings; for some reason apple thought it would be wise to put it in the “accessibility” folder which makes no sense. Also in bright days the screen DIMS so you can’t see it at all. There’s other things such as links not opening up in the apps(RUclips, amazon) that drive me nuts. Ultimately its user preference and I prefer Samsung.
People say the curved screen of the ultra is a bit of a issue since some have cracked when dropped and landing on the curved edge, but if you get a great case and don't do drop tests, you'll be fine.
One thing, both are expensive I always use Samsung and yes it’s good you can customize , iPhone has it too. I switched to iPhone and got a 13pro Max and I am pleased People buy what they like , afford and can switch to whatever brand they want.
Personally, I was sick of my Samsung dropping 20-30% charge overnight and generally draining incredibly fast. My iPhone lasts exponentially longer than any Samsung I’ve ever had. I will also say I’ve never had a Snapdragon version, Exynos only.
i had both phone, and lets be honest when it comes to battery life, iPhone 13pm is much more better than s22 ultra in a short term and especially long term. Samsung have a problems with longevity concerning battery life and optimisation or should i say android. For this reason i switch to iphone 13pm(first iPhone of my life)after having a s21 ultra for almost a year. And there is a hugeeeee difference about this point. Period. Clearly its impossible to go back to samsung when u already taste one of the best samsung ever(s21 ultra design screen battery life better than s22 ultra) but cuz of battery in a long term i switch cant stand anymore. But in a way i do miss the awesome screen of s21 ultra.

I think everything is down to every day use, see, tech enthusiast will scream about multitasking with 73 apps at once, slightly better dynamic range and years of software support, while the rest of the world will see a simply, reliable operating system that doesn’t let them down, with a great camera and an awesome software experience. Phone war is over, just pick the one that better suits for you. Awesome video and great job.
yeah, but without tech enthusiasts, you probably won't see how powerful your phones get until it becomes an commodity like it is today. the rest of the world mostly use android too. it takes one to imagine and try something the rest won't. However, in terms of phones, i agree, go with what you feel works for you. whether it's a fruit or a droid. if there is a possibility, i hope for a 3rd option. I don't see linux as a switch anytime soon for phones...unfortunately.
You Helped me buy the s22 ultra... totally a much more practical and value for money device than iphone 13 pro Max...baffled by the features and functionality it provides along with an out of the world camera...happy with the buy...writing this comment on my s22 ultra with the s-pen
I’ve had the S22 ultra from launch and just purchased an iPhone 13 pro max because everyone loves them so much and It doesn’t compare to the galaxy at all. I have the same photo in my home screen for both and the galaxy colors are more vibrant. The motion Lock Screen is a joke because you have to press and hold to get it to move. The front camera is blurry and apparently this is a know issue. I’m taking it to apple to see if they will swap it out because I’ve tried all of the tricks available on the internet. You can’t tell exactly when messages were sent and the call log is a joke. I’m with my galaxy, I can click on a contact name and see every single call made to them with the exact date, time and call length. This is necessary for work as we need to document calls and texts. It’s so frustrating 😫. I could go on, but in conclusion, I’ll be keeping my galaxy
So as for accessories and battery life you are being biased if you don't give those to Apple. I'm an android user for life but I can't deny that the apple ecosystem is so much more streamlined and cohesive, and Apple Promax is a real all day phone with all tests showing double digit hours of use and my wife only needing to charge before bed at 10pm with about 10% left. Apples optimization is next level and Android will never be there because of the fact that Android has many phone makers to cater to and Apple only caters to Apple.
@@MF_OXF I'm getting about 5-6 hours SoT with games on my S22 Ultra, all the features on. That's a full day for all but the most power users. If you charge your battery at the end of every day anyways, what's the point of having all that extra battery? Also pretty much everyone has chargers throughout their house and at work. I could easily charge my battery for 12 hours a day if I needed to. Battery life isn't everything.
@@MF_OXF yeah i lost 2% of the battery while i was watching this video and simultaneously texting on WhatsApp. How do you do that you ask? Well ask your better battery how to do that. Whil i watch this content on my qhd+ display with no ugly notch and bezels.
You handled this comparison of Samsung and Apple without leading me to think one of them is paying you to pick them as the winner. Great video, by the way. I have watch some in the past by a certain individual who was contradicting their own test results. Thank you for this video, and keep up the good work.
Something that I would like to see is if you used the pro mode in Samsung to really show the camera capabilities, I find that using the pro mode for both photos and videos, I get a much better result than the normal modes, and with Samsung in pro video, you can record in 120fps and it looks much better than using the standard video mode
It depends whether you even need to be flabbergasted by those many features. I remember having s4 which became dead out of the blue in just 12 months and s7 edge whose screen got a pink line in as much time.. but my first iPhone, iPhone 4 is still working fine along with the slew of iPhones I have owned till date. Also the perception of premiumness and resale value of Iphones is much better so its cheaper to upgrade.
My S4, which I still use as an alarm clock, is still working fine, on the original battery too, while my iPhone SE, which I still also have and use for certain things like VOIP calls, has touch screen issues and random freeze ups, plus its battery had to be replaced last year. As for the upgrade, Samsung has an excellent upgrade program that would've given me $500 for my Note 10 if I got the S22 this year; that's half the price the phone sold at when it came out back in 2019! So, the points you mention are moot at best.
I too owned an S4 & now with S10 I can tell you Samsungs have had a sea change! One UI has totally changed the game for them. You're right about the resale value thing of iPhones but honestly they're too boring to use year after year. Brilliant but boring you could say. At that front Samsung is actually nailing it these days. My 3 year S10 is completely lag free n also got One UI 4.1 update. Give a try!
@@sammyt3514 Good for you.. my main reason to stick to iPhones is Premium build, bug free software and apps, long term S/W updates, privacy, data safety, Video quality and resale value. Apple beats Samsung in all these.

Even long term support is no longer a problem with Samsung phones offering 4 years of support starting this year.
@Bux I missed it for a few days and got over it fast. I use Messenger or WhatsApp for the people that have iPhone. I can't say anything about the Fold because the only ones I've owned have been the Note 10+, S21 Ultra and S22 Ultra. I can't live without my S-Pen 😅 but the multitasking and all the other features are on the Fold so you should be in heaven
in my opinion, S22 ultra would be great if it had less curved screen (or flat would be perfect), and if the IRL battery life was better than now. While the iphone 13 pro max would be great if the charger used USB type C and had smaller notch/forehead.

I am completely buffled and have no idea what to choose. I’ve always LOVED the design and ‘look/presentation’ of the iPhone and have always really used an iPhone so I know how to use it better but I’ve been wanting to buy a new phone and have mainly been focusing on storage and camera quality. It is important for me to have good camera quality and I’ve been worried on changing to android because people I do know who have had them - their photos have kind off come out… fluffy? Or glossy? Not to sure how to explain. But from what I’ve seen this specific android has so many good qualities to it as well. I’m stumped. No idea what to choose. Any advice or help to help me pick?
This is a detailed comparison. Now I'm utterly convinced that the Ultra is way better in many aspects, and I'd choose the Ultra over the Pro Max as a daily driver
Fascinating comparison. I rarely watch iPhone v Galaxy videos because I know that I would never switch ecosystems (Samsung all the way), but this was interesting because I had never considered the different philosophies of the companies. I always thought Apple to just be about locking down and controlling everything they could and Galaxy to be a bit more open and versatile despite still locking things down occasionally. Now I'm not going to be switching any time soon, but I do agree that Apple's aesthetics are WAY better than Android/One UI.
I’m an Apple user. I’m not a fanatic or anything. I just want something reliable. I want to get a Samsung and I love the way they look. iPhone is boring but it’s like a Toyota. Very solid and reliable for the most part. Still deciding.
@@akilanratnam1499 I get that aspect too. In more recent years Samsung has made its devices more reliable than in the past, but Apple has been solid for a long time. I understand where you are coming from.
This guy's a legend. Very similar style to Mr Mobile. (they're friends if I'm not mistaken). The way you both script your videos is unmatched by any other rech reviewer. Keep up the good work!
I’d go with the IPhone 13 Pro Max, I think for the price it’s a better deal. You might not get some of the “vanity features” of the S22U, but you’re getting a more powerful phone, much better battery life, and you know that you’re going to get the latest software patch/update when every other iPhone gets it, even 5-6 years down the line. The S22U essentially just has slightly better battery and performance as the last two predecessor.
This was a good comparison. In terms of functionality, the Galaxy S22 Ultra destroys the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Apple cannot really call their device Pro if the software can’t take advantage of the hardware. The lack of multitasking and Apple Pencil support makes it difficult to use the iPhone as my daily driver. Apple needs to start giving Pro users the features they want. Also, the fact that the iPhone 13 Pro Max still uses Lightning is laughable in 2022. We shouldn’t have to buy a dongle in order to use external SSDs. However, the iPhone does win when it comes to the display and speakers. The major issue that I have with the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s display is the PWM. I don’t know what Samsung did, but the PWM is awful and is worse compared to my Note20 Ultra. The iPhone 13 Pro Max does not have this problem since the display uses DC-dimming. Samsung really needs to address this issue as it can be a deal breaker for those that suffer from PWM. For the speakers, the iPhone sounds more clean. If you don’t believe me, check out Flossy Carter’s S22 Ultra Real Review.
The S22 ultra is a man's phone. I cruise the Bars and Clubs day and night. I just walk into a Bar see a girl that I like wave the phone at her she knows what I want. That's what you call a good night out. Thank you Samsung 🤗😀🤫
I'm seriously considering the Galaxy S22 Ultra but my issue is being stuck on Apple's ecosystem since I have a MacBook Pro, ipad and an iPhone 12 Pro Max. I love being able to text and FaceTime from my computer but I use my phone more than anything so this makes it a hard decision 😔
Good points to bring up. Heres my take to introduce an andriod to an apple ecosystem/setup will always be easier than bringing iphone to your windows. Galaxy phone are very powerful and be able to keep up with whatever your doing now good luck.
I'm still rocking a note 9 for about 4 years now! True I'm stuck on android 10, but honestly I don't feel like I'm missing out on the new features of the latest android version. The battery's still rock solid, lasting me almost all day, after 4 years of heavy daily use. The only reason I'm considering upgrading to S22 ultra is because I feel it's about time to upgrade. I'm just worried that I would be disappointed with the S22 ultra, or that it won't be up to the expectations. Should I hold on to my note 9 as long as it's still functioning great, and wait for what samsung is bringing to the table next year, or should I go for the S22 ultra?
I moved from an S9 to the S22 plus. Massive massive change. In your case you'll definitely feel the modern differences and in a way feel good about yourself as well. BTW the 22+ is a brilliant phone and probably the best looking/feeling phone on the market. If you can wait, wait. But I heard starting prices will be $100 more than the 22 series. But if that's not a factor for you, and your note has a bit more juice left, then it's worth waiting. I usually change every 4 years.
I'm getting the Samsung S22 ultra. Because if I trade in my cracked screen Samsung S7, which is ancient, I get the S22 ultra for $399! 4 months ago, it was like $1,250. $399 is a great deal with the SD Generation 8 and 256 storage. In my humble opinion.

The reason I switched is because I hated the flip and fold and was disappointed that I couldn’t get a note so it made me switch to apple. Don’t regret it though it’s a great phone
Yeah, will be doing the switch when the 14 pro max comes out. Currently on the z fold 3 and while it does get a lot of attention, it really is the worst of both worlds. So many issues with apps on the larger screen as well. Ready to finally see what all the fuss is about when it comes to the Apple ecosystem.
On my Gs22 Ultra at this moment! Greatest phone ever created. It's not even a debate anymore, Galaxy is on another level and has been the last 5 years.
Dude, my friend is constantly complaining abt his S22U. The SoT is 5 hours, the camera shutter lag is abysmal, the photos are a hit and miss, CPU throttles like crazy on hot days… he just hopes that Samsung would fix everything via future patches… Which should never be the case in a 1100€ phone.
If your an adult, parent, head of household, professional, businessman or businesswoman, buy the S22 Ultra as it’s the more mature phone. If you are a kid, or addicted to social media, buy an iPhone.
As an iphone user for such a long time .. I have to admit the Galaxy s22 ultra puts any iPhone to shame.. apple needs to wake up they have been very lazy for a long time in the software department.. 🤷🏻♂️

Jaime ALWAYS delivers. I love the reviews which are always steeped in logic and in my opinion, clearly objective without any bias. Great job! You helped me decide which phone to get when I return my Z Fold4.
Well, I had the option to go with either Samsung or iPhone, the LGV60 was the phone I was previously using. But i wanted a phone that had great clarity when looking at outdoors, I had owned a Note 20 ultra and it was a good phone, My only gripe with that phone was when door dashing on hot days that phone would go dim and I would have to wait for it to cool down and then I could but the brightness back up. My other problem was GPS on that phone, it would work well for a few weeks then lose accuracy of the address really bad. I found out ( on the forums ) that this was a problem that didn’t get much attention from Samsung. Which is how I got my LGV60. So After reviewing both phones i found the PRO MAX to be the better phone for me. I have the 8 plus, sold the 11 and now I got the 13maxpro and I’m enjoying this device. My favorite feature is the screen and it’s readability in the sun. Then the battery management on this phone is a beast been Getting around two days usage. Call quality has been great too.
At this point, very few people are switching for specs or features. The OS on each are now so in depth that people are invested in operation and familiarity.
I tried both and Samsung lets you do more with the phone. Apple's other products are all really good (pods, watch...), but other then battery life, iPhone doesn't come close.
I love both devices as they both have their pros and cons, obviously. personally speaking I choose iPhone. for a variety of reasons, which include compatibility with existing products less headache to use with family members (especially younger and elderly) and I just enjoy the phone as a whole. One other thing for me is the iPhone keeps resell value better down the road. Take this as you will.
That will depend on your location. Outside of US android is king and you see an iphone as rarely as you see a flaghship android phone in the states.
Apple needs real split screen multitasking, AOD, more PiP, more widgets and customization, then they can take a bite out of Sammys customer base
Apple's customer base for high-end phones is 8 to 10 times the size of Samsung. With more coming over from Android every year. Take a look at the revenues for each company, not even close.
@cool 123 rather for assimilation
@@bruxi78230 yeah Apple is so good because they sell, that's what makes them good right? They are rich so they must be so good. The best argument ever.

@@Natsukashii1111 ---- So your conclusion is Samsung makes better phones, that's why they sell so many fewer high-end ones than Apple? Is that it? You win for the most ridiculous argument ever.

While Apple makes a good product I do not care for the death grip they hold over their ecosystem. i had both phone, and lets be honest when it comes to battery life, iPhone 13pm is much more better than s22 ultra in a short term and especially long term.
Stay away from exynos chips. Theyre notorious for killing your phone battery and overheating
I agree with your assessment, the iPhone 13 is just a bigger version and does not use the screen real estate for anything special.
So that "powerful chip ever in a phone" really brings nothing to the table for the day to day ordinary man 😔

Yep pretty much
yeah, but without tech enthusiasts, you probably won't see how powerful your phones get until it becomes an commodity like it is today. the rest of the world mostly use android too. it takes one to imagine and try something the rest won't.
Totally agree. The S22Ultra + SPen is your desktop in your pocket, plus a camera and a phone. Great video!

This is the first review I have seen in awhile where someone even mentions the phone call quality of a phone.

I've been a Samsung fan since 2011. Still loving and rocking my S21 Ultra. 👍🏾

True. Os makes the difference
I prefer android but I would take the 13 Pro Max over the S22 Ultra in a heartbeat. IOS has gotten really good this past few years.
This is a detailed comparison. Now I'm utterly convinced that the Ultra is way better in many aspects, and I'd choose the Ultra over the Pro Max as a daily driver
Hello how are you? What did I win?
Fascinating comparison. I rarely watch iPhone v Galaxy videos because I know that I would never switch ecosystems (Samsung all the way), but this was interesting because I had never considered the different philosophies of the companies. I always thought Apple to just be about locking down and controlling everything they could and Galaxy to be a bit more open and versatile despite still locking things down occasionally. Now I'm not going to be switching any time soon, but I do agree that Apple's aesthetics are WAY better than Android/One UI.
Yea I'm with you on that. The Apple phone looks better. I like the smaller versions too. But still not going apple.
S22 Ultra is on another LEVEL!
