@@Randomdude21-e ya software and battery are really the biggest reasons to get the 13 over the 12 oh and the 120 refresh rate. Though I like the look of the 22 ultra compared to the iphone with the thinner sides and the beutiful display and i love the s-pen thats built in.
For me, this is the BEST, most neutral & unbiased review of these smartphone giants. I actually own both these phones, with the 13 Pro Max in the 1TB variant as my daily driver, & the Samsung s22 Ultra in the 512GB variant, as my work/networking phone (simply because of the multi-tasking features & of course the s-pen). Both are superb devices, that handle everything they do ever so well. You can't really go wrong with either device, although, I'd give the edge to the Samsung, simply for choice, as EVERYTHING on this phone is fully customisable. The iPhone is great at what it does, don't get me wrong, that bionic chip is INCREDIBLE, the s22 Ultra just provides me with way more options.
@@dani_i8942 not everyone needs 1000+ features. One UI is packed? Yes, a lot. But most people won't use 80% of the features it has. The only thing I miss from Android is Vanced and split screen, although I didn't use it that much. iOS is clean, easy to use (android is too) and has zero bloatware, unlike One UI
Only thing that worries me on the S22 Ultra is the battery life as I've heard it's a decent step back from the S21 Ultra due to the much more power hungry cpu.
In all of the main tests, it's only 10 min difference and this is without the updates. Keep in mind it's still new and it has an s pen with a much stronger chip so 10 min ain't bad
As unbiased as this review was, there are some points missing which favor Samsung: 1. Dex mode. You could theoretically live a Phone-only experience, no other device at home, with the Samsung. 2. At the very least, the Samsung allows for OTG USB drive use, to counter the lack of SD support [which should have NEVER been taken away]. Still, I am not telling Apple fans they should switch over. I know how integrated that ecosystem is, and how difficult it is to leave it, but those points are worth mentioning
I have used many android phone flagships , mid range and budget my current device is the s21 ,it doesn’t matter what android device you have the apps are just not on the same level of polish , design and optimization as iOS heck Google apps are better on iOS than android in my opinion
I love my S22 Ultra 🤍🤍 hopefully the bugs and what not get fixed here in a few soon updates but it's been rock solid for me. I've had 3 different windows open while charting my work and not a single hiccup 😎 IPhone is great too though, really is. I usually hate the curved screens but this one is not bad at all! Slight curve but no accidental touches 👍👍
The choice is a matter of taste and needs. In my case I prefer the iPhone 13 Pro Max. I am a publicist, I work and live surrounded by Apple devices because they are excellent work tools for me.
Had the Samsung 22 ultra for 2 weeks so many issues screen freezing and camera was blurry when zooming in I think Samsung have not done enough on software issues I think. they have rushed out the s22 series now have gone back to iPhone 13pro max absolutely fantastic phone
I’m surprised to not see more comments about the OS of both phones. I just recently switched from iPhone to the S22 Ultra as my daily driver and I’ve been enjoying the experience so far BUT, I can say that the app support that you get on iOS is hands down way better than Android. I still use an iPhone for my business and there are many apps that I have on both phones and most apps operate better on the iPhone. Blink, Microsoft, many of the banking apps work smoother. Which makes me hesitate to keep the Ultra. Pure phone functionality and options, hands down the Ultra.
s22 all the way. fast charging can compensate that extra 1.5 hours extra screen time of iphone but iphone can never compensate for zoom lenses, all the multi tasking and that gorgeous display. (i didn't mentioned all other goodies you get in one ui)
One of the better videos online for sure. You forgot to mention that the S22U now has WiFi 6E. I already pre-ordered the S22U in green as well to replace my S21U. I know it's not much of an upgrade but I needed more space and I always like the squared shape of the display and phone. Having the s-pen always with me will be nice as well but I'm not a heavy user tho.

I think if people dont mind huge phones, either way will be a great choice. What I dont like is a fight between ios and android users :D
The real strength of ios is facetime, imessage, airdrop, airplay and the like. Also all apps and connections work way better on it since the apps are written in swift which directly deals with the compiler unlike android where the apps are written in java and then separately compiled.
@@alexs1118 im not even an american and i still choose ios just bcz of its smoothness. But if you give me s22u and iphone x i would obviously take the samsung
Had an iPhone 13 Pro max then went to the Google pixel 6 Pro and now the galaxy s22 ultra. Can say it's an amazing phone and camera is outstanding but has started to stutter/lag a little which is sort of off putting. Phone decided to restart itself too whilst on a WhatsApp video call. My device is struggling at times and the lag can get frustrating. Decided to go back to the 13 Pro max as I had no issues whatsoever regarding any lag and plus battery life is in a league of its own.
I've always been a Samsung fan, but since last year, the camera firmware has been degraded to a point that I can't take videos without blurring, especially on moving objects like RC planes. It's time to change my old Galaxy and I'm hesitating between this two. Do you have some video test for fast moving objects?
Great video as always Nick!! It seems that you are like me, and love what each of these phones can offer to the buyers. Samsung has really done great in providing their customers with great phones that take great photos, perform beautifully with One UI and whose ecosystem works well with their Galaxy Buds watches and tablets. Not to say that they will ever unseat Apple and its ecosystem but there is no denying that Samsung has come a long way.
I've been a note fan since Galaxy note 3. But I switched from android to ios last year with 12 pro max and I never looked back. Yes I'll be missing using the s-pen. But, what is the point of having 1 if I can't use the phone longer due to its battery life. So I guess, I'll stick with my iPhone 13 pro max til samsung matched the battery optimization of ios.
@@mrmossimop exactly i never understood people complaining about battery life. s22 ultra can last 8 hrs on normal day to day use. i always tell people if your phone gives you 7 + hrs of screen on time that is more than enough. if you spend more than 7 hrs on phone. you need to change your habits.
@@mrmossimop yeah I don’t get these people that act like they’re never around a charger. My phone charges every time I’m in my vehicle. I have chargers everywhere including at my job. And I have the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
I went through this debate for a while, before I chose the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Apple just feels like walking into a Neiman Marcus department store, everything flows and goes in harmony, and S22 Ultra is beautiful but using it felt like walking into a flee market trying to find your way around. Love your videos even though I’ve decided on the iPhone.
iPhone makes you feel like you have guest access. Samsung makes you the admin. iPhone is garbage and boring that is always about 2 years behind Samsung.
@@dani_i8942 a lot of ppl prefer simplicity and don’t care much about fiddling around with a 1000 plus features and lot of times Samsung pushes out a a feature it’s usually half baked
@@CashCollecta I've been using Samsung Notes since Note 3. I not sure what you mean by a half baked feature but every feature I have on my S22U works fine as intended. I use the same apps on my iphone 12 that I use one my S22U. They all look and work there same
@@CashCollecta not sure if you are talking about 3rd party app or not, but if you are talking about samsung system apps or their own apps , i can assure you those are not half backed.
After having gone through numerous reviews & comparisons I feel if one needs a Samsung flagship then note 20 ultra or s21 ultra are overall better depending on needs of inbuilt s-pen not the S22 ultra whereas on the iOS landscape no such dilemma....13 Pro Max is an overall splendid device....
Been using the Notes for a long time but I think I'm going to try the iPhone 13 Pro or maybe 14 Pro this year. The Pro Max doesn't make any sense for me, seems it's just big for the sake of being big, no special features.
Can't decide which to buy, never owned an iphone and want to go for it just to get things fresh, however I love the customability on the Samsung too much
Things not noted: 1) The difference between wifi 6e on the s22 and what iPhone is rocking is mind blowing... 2) nobody but Xcheetah has shown iphone struggles in to handle portrait video at night. 3) IPhone battery is amazing, but s22 charge speeds and standby time is actually pretty impressive as well. 4) the spen is used for more than taking notes and drawings 🙈it really needs to stop being advertised as something that simple... there are LONG tutorials on its BASIC use. -feel free to add on if there are any other differential perks 🙏🏽💥
@@anonymoustechguy5073 lol that's just a matter of preference, worrying about one aspect of the device and basing your whole decision on that is kinda silly, but to each his own
I’ve been watching a ton of videos while trying to decide which one to go to (coming from iPhone 12pro) and I ordered the s22 ultra! I’m still kinda scared to switch to android from iPhone after so long, but I feel like the camera is gonna make it worth my while)
If u live in America where they sell Snapdragon is worth buying the Ultra 😊. I loved my Note 9, but where I live Samsung sells the Exynos version and it’s way worse than Snapdragon so I chose the IPhone instead and I’m happy with it. I hope u enjoy ur phone! 😊
@@justchillin6117 I just returned my s22 ultra for iPhone 13 pro max I couldn’t do it I mean I could but everyone around me had iPhone so I had to stay on iPhone sadly 😢
iPhone because of that battery life Having the 120hrz and it lasting 9 to 10 hours is insane Btw I just bought my first iPhone which is the 7 plus because of the price And my budget andriod was getting slower and I love iOS a lot The social media experience and optimization is amazing and a lot better to
Great review nick as always from the uk 🇬🇧 I’m currently using the 13 pro max and love it am I correct in saying samsung has been banned from geek bench ?
If you're a die hard iPhone/IOS fan, then even if you feel the S22 Ultra is better, for the most part you're not going to switch. And vice versa with Android users to IOS. Me personally, I was a die hard iPhone user from 2008 with the 2G iPhone to the iPhone 7 plus. But I got bored with the phone bc it just felt the same every year. Made the switch to Android/Samsung and never even thought about going back to ios. Apple makes great phones but the way I like to use my phone, android/Samsung just works better for me.
I bought an S22 Ultra, got it last Monday. It was great phone! The camera's were taking some of the best photos I've ever seen. Unfortunately my screen on time was only around 5 hours and not enough for what I need it for. I had switched to the 13 Pro Max yesterday as battery life is extremely important to me. I don't have the luxury of being near a wall outlet, or charger for my job. Otherwise an amazing phone and hopefully their next one is even more battery efficient.
@@jorgeur4527 nope that’s not the reason Did you see the price of the Ultra?lol Is about what you love Not everyone love the same thing Because you dont like something doesn’t mean its bad I am a apple fan the Ultra look outstanding only thing that its missing for me is the rounded corners the s22 is so nice But guess what some people prefer the square corner Is just what you like✅
@@creeeep404 as i said its fast but still slower than iphone. Dont think anybody cares theese first years but in a few years it will probably matter more:)
being a Samsung user, i will shift to iPhone for a reason: 1.iPhone has the best overall camera experience 2..iPhone has the best software integration and smoothness like butter 3..iPhone is best for gaming 4..iPhone software update is unbeatable, like whether u use iPhone 8 or 13 pro max u will get the new software on both devices at the same time Samsung will hang a lot after a year or 2 years old.. apps crashes. too many heat issues, and my note plus hangs twice a day some time more finally i will get 13 pro max
I Loved everything with Apple but I don’t need a phone that only care about a camera. There is nothing anyone could’ve said to me about apple but as a business owner who needs to do multitasking i had to let the Apple Orchard fall off the tree.Unless apple can make a foldable phone/add multitasking /more business apps . I will stick with Samsung for right now. Apple seems to be falling way behind. No foldable phone/No multitasking
I bought two of them... trust me 13 pro max is super heavy because the weight concentration is on the middle .. and it is not comfortable. For samsung it is 228 grams but the weight is spread around the build and it is very very light to me and it is super comfortable
The iPhone 13 pro max is my choice between these Two. “I already have the iPhone 13 pro” but for this decision I would choose the iPhone 13 pro over the samsung
I can use both. The iPhone goes better with my iPad and Apple Watch. The notch, it really doesn't get in the way of anything due to the format of the screen -- neither the notch nor the punch hole obstruct 16:9 content due to how they laid out the screens. Obviously, if you zoon into content you will see them. As far as daily phone use, going from the Samsung to iPhone doesn't really make a difference for me unless you include the times I try to do something I learned on Android with iOS. Both do the same and what they are supposed to do. However, if you have an Apple watch or an iPad, don't get an Android. You'll eventually have to go back to an iPhone.
Dear Nick... You have always been outstanding with your work.. One thing that is stopping me from Going out for Samsung is - the Shutter Lag... Which honestly; i haven't encountered in an IPhone or a Pixel or a Sony Phone...Any thoughts?
I got a question. I want to buy a phone. probably one of them. I am confused about which phone to get. some says Iphone some says Samsung. i am more into photography so people say Samsung is better. I do uber and people says Samsung usually get hanged after sometime and Iphone never hangs. kindly guide me which one to buy
if you want a photography phone, it depends. if you want just casual picture snapping in the default mode, get the iphone. if you wanna go deep with all the customosations (iso, shutter, focus, etc.), go with samsung, especially cause of the different telephoto lenses.
“You can put apps wherever you want on the screen but they still fly up” So…you can’t put them anywhere. Also, I wish people would stop calling what apple does a widget because it makes you think that they are the same as android. All apple did was make bigger app icons. That’s all. I’ve been an iPhone user for a very long time but it can’t be denied that their software experience over the years has gone stale while android has come so far. Leaving apple soon and can’t wait to adventure out into actual creativity and progress when it comes to, well, everything.
one important thing u might want to know before u buy, if you r an type of person who like to put an tempered glass screen protector on your new phone, iphone 13 pro max flat screen makes ur life much easier on this task.
@Nick Ackerman, you gave your take on every section except the CAMERA section which is the main rivalry between these two flagships😅😅😅 Anyway, from your shots, the S22 Ultra is better at photography 🔥🔥🔥 while the 13 pro max edges it on videography
We all know it comes down to which ecosystem you're already committed to. Both are best in their classes but not true equals IMO. Most people have already made their choice years ago before they were built.
I have both iPhone and Samsung and you are right iPhone updates are just way better than Samsung apple let's there updates all at once but Samsung doesn't do this you have to wait too long I like both phones
No doubt about it, the iphones camera quality Is superior... Of course the 22 has incredible quality while being more zoomed in. In conclusion the iPhone has a better quality when it comes to closer objects but the 22 has better quality when it's focused on something further away
Wow. Great review, comparaison. I still lean more towards iPhone because I prefer iOS. I am a bit surprised at how “dark” the one video example was compared to the S22 Ultra. I know night time photos are great on iPhone but haven’t done a night time video yet. I thought it would be better than what I saw here in your demo. Oh well. ;)

I would return that device, sounds defective to me.
Did u like the pixel 6 pro ?
Definitely had a defective phone .. sounds like u had an galaxy s7 .. haven't had a laggy galaxy phone In years
Galaxy S22 Ultra has a note vibe with an Spen. I love it❤👏
Yes sure does 🔥
The camera on s22 ultra looks like a traffic light.
In reference to battery life. You can't find an hour out of 24 hours to put your phone on a charger? Like maybe when you're in the shower or asleep?
@@mrmossimop exactly i never understood people complaining about battery life. s22 ultra can last 8 hrs on normal day to day use.
i always tell people if your phone gives you 7 + hrs of screen on time that is more than enough. if you spend more than 7 hrs on phone. you need to change your habits.
@@mrmossimop yeah I don’t get these people that act like they’re never around a charger. My phone charges every time I’m in my vehicle. I have chargers everywhere including at my job. And I have the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Should I go for OnePlus 10 pro or S22 Ultra..??
I went through this debate for a while, before I chose the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Apple just feels like walking into a Neiman Marcus department store, everything flows and goes in harmony, and S22 Ultra is beautiful but using it felt like walking into a flee market trying to find your way around. Love your videos even though I’ve decided on the iPhone.
iPhone makes you feel like you have guest access. Samsung makes you the admin. iPhone is garbage and boring that is always about 2 years behind Samsung.

@@CashCollecta not sure if you are talking about 3rd party app or not, but if you are talking about samsung system apps or their own apps , i can assure you those are not half backed.

Awesome Video Nick!!!!! I Love your content🔥🔥🔥🙂!!!!.I appreciate your time and efforts!🙂!!!.
Security updates are my main concern...paying with my phone, financial apps, all that adulting stuff.
Hoping my S22 Ultra Graphite come this week!!!

Been using the Notes for a long time but I think I'm going to try the iPhone 13 Pro or maybe 14 Pro this year. The Pro Max doesn't make any sense for me, seems it's just big for the sake of being big, no special features.
Can't decide which to buy, never owned an iphone and want to go for it just to get things fresh, however I love the customability on the Samsung too much
Same,wait for Iphone 14
@@kuracutvojumamu reply for iPhone 15
Things not noted:
1) The difference between wifi 6e on the s22 and what iPhone is rocking is mind blowing...
😂 Only those uneducated peoples that think spen only for writing a note. It does more than that but, not everyone is a note fan.

Yes however the iphone can go longer off the charger than the s22 can so for a lot of people that matters more than fast charging

For me it seems like they downgraded the speakers on the Samsung this year. The iPhone sounds way better and louder
S22 ultra 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍
Your logic is just amazing, less Hollywood, more down to earth
@SouthCentral_Kid Yup, I was getting close to two weeks and it was a grim sign for me. I had to swap before I wasn't able to through my carrier.
i have the 13 pro max and thought of getting the s22u also but it keeps getting pushed back

iPhone is a better phone overall, it's just that Android users don't accept it because they don't have enough money for one

S22 Ultra straight beast. 🔥
Sure is a beast of a phone
Still loling that that brand new S22 Ultra is throttled straight out of the box 🤣
being a Samsung user, i will shift to iPhone for a reason:
1.iPhone has the best overall camera experience
2..iPhone has the best software integration and smoothness like butter
3..iPhone is best for gaming
4..iPhone software update is unbeatable, like whether u use iPhone 8 or 13 pro max u will get the new software on both devices at the same time
Samsung will hang a lot after a year or 2 years old..
apps crashes. too many heat issues, and my note plus hangs twice a day some time more finally i will get 13 pro max

Galaxy S22 Ultra
S22 Ultra for Definitely! Any day i would take as its a beast Android
I love my S22 ultra and my galaxy fold 3 . No problems
You'll eventually have to go back to an iPhone.

kindly guide me which one to buy
if you want a photography phone, it depends. if you want just casual picture snapping in the default mode, get the iphone. if you wanna go deep with all the customosations (iso, shutter, focus, etc.), go with samsung, especially cause of the different telephoto lenses.
One word: none. Just too expensive for what you get.

Wallpaper link for the iPhone? 🙃
“You can put apps wherever you want on the screen but they still fly up”
So…you can’t put them anywhere.
