Agree and the fact that the iPhone 13 Pro supports pro-res WITHOUT a USB-C port is just ridiculous. In practice, you can't even use the pro-res video if you wanted because it will take hours to load the data off the phone via Lightning. That said, the software longevity of Apple/iOS is why I still use an iPhone. Samsung gave me the worst smartphone experience I've ever had with the S7 Edge. The resale issue is true. However, I don't worry about that because when I upgrade I do it through Samsung and not only do I get TOP dollar....I end up getting 2-3 NEW items FREE. apple trade in program is NOT nearly as good regardless of how much you paid for the phone. Trust me....I have experienced it. For example when I traded my Note20 Ultra for the S21 Ultra with Samsung...I got 900.00 for the phone plus FREE Galaxy pro buds(which sounds better than the Airpods pro), Free You Tube premium , and a FREE wireless charger. Apple will NEVER give you 900.00 on trade in for a phone. NO way! You are better off to sell your iphone on Craigslist or something. So in that case Samsung wins! You don't have to go through the hassle of trying to sell your phone.

Whats funny about the Samsungs being worth less after a year of use, is that they typically perform better at a year old vs a year old iPhone. One of my largest complaints about my iPhone was that after time it just seemed to perform worse and worse as it got older. I've had my s10+ since it came out and it still works like the day I got it. (Minus the battery, as all phones do the battery life has gotten a little worse over time). But any iPhone I've ever had is almost unusable after about 2yrs.

I just upgraded to the 13 Pro, and I LOVE it! Excellent battery, I love the display, and how quick it is. But, like a lot of things these days, is highly subjective. I have also owned Androids for years, and I love them. Both are great devices, and it just really comes down to preference. I prefer Apple’s ecosystem, and how well devices work with each other across the ecosystem, but if I wasn’t, I’d probably re-consider Samsung. Both Android and iOS are excellent, polished, and refined systems, and they’re so comparable on so many levels in terms of hardware and software that, to me, it’s a wash between the two. Technology is simply amazing. The amount of power and access we have to information these days is incredible. Get either one, and be happy with it. No need to bash the other because you chose one. 😊

Very nice, objective review. Great visuals, great narration and sound quality. Both of these phones are ridiculously expensive, but it is nice to know (I suppose) that they both deliver something special for that outrageous price tag. Don't be surprised if Apple goes all-MagSafe and does away with the Lightning port altogether. That may sound crazy, but I wouldn't be surprised if MagSafe incorporates data traffic (they already do with the M1 iMac with Ethernet port embedded in MagSafe). But that's probably not going to materialize for another one to three years, according to rumors. I'd be happier with USB-C or even Thunderbolt, but Apple would probably never do that. The Galaxy S21 UItra is an impressive phone. Too bad each phone is locked into its own technology ecosystem. Either way, you're forced to compromise. That's mobile technology in the early 21st century for you.

The main thing that makes me loyal to the iPhone since I’m still using a two or three generation old MacBook and I’m not upgrading my laptop anytime soon; but the refresh rates, camera, & customization of the Samsung vs Apple. After several hundred charde/discharge cycles ALL batteries lose their ability to hold a charge and lose amperage. It's the nature of batteries. Fast charging is actually NOT good for your battery. Slow charge is always the best way to charge any battery IF you have time to do so. Fast charging kills the battery cells much much faster, thus causing earlier battery degradation.

I have been using samsung phones since samsung 5. Now I got iphone 13. And I clearly see differences. First when you start your iPhone there's no Junkware preinstalled Junkware samsung doesn't let you remove easily. To make my s20 plus useful I had to spend around week to remove and tweak android os to remove all that junk. Ios on my iPhone I easily removed what I didn't want and phone just works. The only advantage my s20 plus has over my iPhone 13 is that I can install any app on my android phone I want. While apple won't let you do that. In real life I use phone for 10 hours a day for work. Since samsung s7 edge screens on my Samsung lasted for year before I was seeing ghost image. That's probably biggest reason I shifted to iphone.

Great review. Thank you. I'm leaning towards the iphone, but that extra strong telephoto lens capability of the Samsung, not just 3x but also 10x (And did I hear you say something about 30x?), that is so tempting. The real estate of the Samsung screen seems to be maximized better, right up closer to the edge, but somehow the Apple still looks wider, can you tell me which actually has the wider usable/viewing screen? IOther things equal, I'd rather have slightly wider than slightly taller). Lastly, I don't like the smudgy sides of the iphone, but the graphite does seem to hide any smudges better, do you think? And I've never used a case b/c they always seem too thick, though I've never had a high end phone either, but a case on the iphone would hide the smudgy sides, are the cases pretty thin, or do they really make the iphone noticeably more bulky? I would greatly appreciate any insights on the above. Either way, thanks again for a great review, very useful! Thumbs up!

so basically if you're a techie and have a stable salary to support buying apple products, you should buy the ip13 pro max. but if you're just a regular guy with average income and dont really care about the minor differences, then you should get the cheaper one which is the galaxy s21.
i wish i saw this vid before buying the ip13 pro max. there isnt rlly much difference with the 2 phones, so i might as well buy the cheaper one T_T it would've saved me a few dollars. T_T

Yeah well thanks to this video and many others I finally bought my new phone, the 13 pro max, I tested both the iPhone 13 Pro Max and the Galaxy S22 Ultra and I went for the iPhone.
But boy does this thing gets hot when you're gaming, right next to the camera there is a spot that quickly gets very uncomfortable when I'm playing Geshin Impact, then the screen brightness dims massively and the hole thing become underwhelming to say the least.
Honestly I don't care anymore about power, it doesn't mean anything if you end up with a toaster in your hands, now I wonder if the Galaxy has the same issue, I'm seriously considering a switch now.

The awkward, slippery feeling scrolling alone kills the deal for any android phone for me, maybe except pixel. Got an S20 FE last year and never been so fast to switch back. People may just not care, but I always couldnt wrap my head around how so many people just sincerely can’t even notice the difference. I personally would even take an SE over Ultra.

I'm an android fan, but even I can tell you that iPhone has the much greater software experience. A good example of this is the gesture navigation system. A lot of android apps still use swipe left to access the side bar. This makes going back in an app a pain, especially if you're using a case. iOS is also a more stable operating system. I'd go with the 13 Pro Max. Especially now that the Pixel 6 Pro is out and it's not looking good. iPhone also has always had a snappier camera system. Even on older iPhones, like the 6s, the camera feels smooth due to iOS being a more stable OS.

For people who likes to jailbreak or root like me, I have to say its more “worth it” to jailbreak than it is to root android, since even non rooted, You could really customize your phone the way You like. Jailbreak however, is a must if You like to customize. HOWEVER, I have difficulty with bringing myself to “hack” a very expensive phone. Thats why i use 2 phones for daily usage. My 13 pro max is for work and other “formal” activities. While my second is a cheaper android just for games and hacking everything i like.
Its like how people have a mercedes for showing off at parties and social gatherings, but drive a toyota for daily drive to the shops

I still have the Galaxy S10+ that I use too. I was curious about IOS. It's true, Android gives you more customizaton options but that's not a big deal. I"ve a nice background and a personal ringtone. At least the differences between IOS and Android are no big deal for me the OS are very comparable.

I've actually gone the other way. After 10 years of Android (most recently the S20 Ultra), I've jumped back to my first iPhone since iPhone 4 and there's something mentally quite pleasant and refreshing about the experience. I don't feel as restricted as I thought I would be. With Android, sometime you can have too much choice and an endless landfill of barely useable 3rd party apps to the point where i'd find myself tinkering with things almost for the sake of tinkering. They can feel so bloated with junk, even from new. The iPhone just feels smooth, streamlined and less cluttered.
I'm completely on the fence though. I think both are great (I've kept hold of my S20 Ultra as a back-up) and it always amuses me to see Android and Apple fans fighting over incredibly similar, and equally amazing, devices.
